Archie Rude looked around the hallway nervously, adjusting his blue tie before he checked the buttons of his jacket. He glanced at the camera man, shaking his head as he muttered to himself. 'This is ridiculous, why couldn't Webber or Moss come do this! I know he can't stand me.'
The camera man said nothing, and one of the others handed Rude a mic. He sighed, staring at before he shrugged before he rolled his shoulders to adjust his jacket. He looked around the hall, and then turned back to the camera as he forced a smile to his face. 'He could at least be on time.'
The crew pointed, and Archie turned with a faint grunt. His eyes widened, and he saw Donzig storming down the hall clearly having come in from the loading area. The Scourge was clearly in a mood, rain dripping from his long leather coat and hood. He stared around wildly, then his head lifted as the empty eyes of the mask found Rude. He started towards him, and Archie drew back a step as he looked at the camera. Donzig was quick though, and he paused before Rude as a hand lifted with a lazy curl of fingers. 'I have been asked to do a fucking interview, so let's get it over with!'
Archie swallowed, and he licked his lips before he lifted the mic. 'What do you think of moving the company to Great Britain?'
Donzig hissed, and he loomed closer. 'I have wrestled in this wasteland before you know. I started my career in BWA, I won my first REIGN plate in goddamned Darby! And I supposed it will have to goddamned do won't it?'
Archie blinked, and he stepped back before a hand snapped outward to hold him in place. Archie stared at the hand on his shoulder, tensing up as Donzig lifted a hand to tap against his mask before motioning for the next question. Archie took a deep breath, and he continued. 'Mister Blood--'
'Mister Blood? Mister Blood thinks he has outwitted me? But, no, no, no. I will teach Mister Blood who runs WUK in short order, and I promise you that it is not Mister Blood.'
Archie frowned, after all Donzig did seem to dislike authority. 'Ah, Eddie D had some harsh words for you.'
A hand lifted, and Donzig waved his fingers before he tilted his masked head. 'Ah, finally. Something worth my time, you see Eddie is out here trying as always to pander to these fans. He is out here talking about this or that! He was the last SWAT Champion, he remembers this or that old British wrestler, and he is happy to be here. Well, Eddie you shouldn't be. Because if you want that WUK Heavyweight title? You have to go through me, you have to go through me! And you think it's great that Blood honored the fact that I won the SWAT Rumble? Great for me, Eddie.'
Donzig reached a hand up, and Archie flinched before fingers splayed across the metal surface of the mask. He dragged it off, staring at it before he slid it inside of his long coat. His cold eyes narrowed as fingers tugged at his beard with a scowl. 'Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. I don't think you understand what I am, I am the inevitable! I am Death in High Places! And Eddie you may have been SWAT Champion? But I was only pinned once, one time in the entire CWA era! I have not been pinned on the XHF Network since before Supremacy. You see everyone thinks they are the one, that they have what it takes to beat Donzig! But at the end of the fucking day?'
A shrug, and Donzig smiled that awful smile.
'I will be walking out of the O2 Arena as the man who beat Eddie D, the last Champion of SWAT!'
A door down the hall opened, and the pair looked up as Gus Arnold stepped out. He was wearing a grey suit, and he smiled slightly before he looked down the hall to see Archie and Donzig. His smile faded, and he walked down the hall before he patted Archie on the shoulder. Shaking his hand before leaning in to murmur in his ear, then he turned very seriously to his most dangerous nemesis. Gus frowned, and then extended a hand. 'I am sorry, Donzig. I wish things had worked out differently, but I always respected you as a competitor.'
Donzig stared down at the hand, and his face twisted before he lifted his own hand.
Then he buried a boot in Gus Arnold's stomach, and the camera crew scattered even as he hit the Event Horizon! Gus flew into the air, crashing down on the floor as Archie Rude stumbled back. Donzig ripped off his coat, flinging it aside before he leapt onto Gus. He grabbed his head, firing punches into his face before he snarled down at him. His eyes wild, and he spat angrily. 'You robbed me of my fucking legacy, Old Man! You stole from me as much as that prick Blood! Eddie D can talk all he wants, but this will be my legacy! Your blood on my hands!'
Gus was bleeding as Donzig flung him to the floor, driving a few stiff kicks into his ribs as he looked around wildly. Gus was indeed bleeding as he tried to rise, rolling over as Donzig stared down at him. He grabbed at some equipment crates, dragging them closer as he stared down at Gus. 'Good bye, Gus.'
WUK security ran into the hall, yelling for Donzig to stop but drawing up short as his hand was on the stack of crates. He licked his lips, head tilting to stare at the bloody Gus who was being hauled backwards by a panicked looking Archie Rude. Then Eddie D burst into the hall, eyes narrowed on Donzig. 'Do it.'
Donzig sneered as he walked off.
