We find “Zolothach” Tabitha Osborne sitting on the side of her bed in her apartment. Her bags are packed for her journey to the United Kingdom to compete in Wrestle: UK. She looks down at her hands as she waits for the Uber to take her to the airport. She wipes her eyes. It’s not common to see the feared Zolothach in tears, but here she is.
Randy Angel walks into the room and sees Tabitha in the state that she’s in.
Randy Angel: It’s just a show in England. No big deal. You’ll be right back here in no time and trying to figure out where to be hired on with next after Fireside closes down.
Tabitha Osborne: Well, the thing is…our lease is coming up soon and I. Well, I might move to London.
Randy Angel: Oh that’s just great. You know how many pubs and liquor stores there are in London? I could get blitzed off nearly every corner.
Tabitha puts a hand on Randy’s shoulder and we can clearly see her horribly scarred face as the tears roll down her cheeks.
Tabitha Osborne: No, Randy. I said I would be moving to London. You have your Off the Wagon duties, your Jrok duties, and the XHF global shows. I’ll just have Wrestle : UK. We have to seperate.
Randy blinks rapidly and Tabitha makes room for him to be able to sit down next to her.
Randy Angel: If you’re not here, who will protect me from the monsters that come after us on a regular basis?
Tabitha manages a smile, but they both know the answer to this. Without Tabitha being here, the monsters will have no reason to come.
Tabitha Osborne: I need to do this, Randy.
She doesn’t say that it will keep him safe. That she would die if something were to happen to him. She doesn’t just tell him her feelings for him. Where would she have learned how to have a normal relationship? Her parents didn’t. Her grandparents didn’t.
Randy looks down at the floor for a long time, thinking through his head all of the arguments that he could use to keep her here. None of them feel like they would work. Some of them wouldn’t even be fair. And, saying that she was pregnant and it was his? Out of the question since they never did it. He sighs and places his hand on her wet cheek with his own sad smile.
Randy Angel: If this is something that you have to do, then why are you so sad? This could be the start of some great adventure!
Tabitha places her hand over Randy’s, the tears flowing faster.
Tabitha Osborne: I just worry that the cost of having this adventure is so high, but at least I know that you’ll be safe. Safe with your brother nearby I’m sure.
Randy puts his arm around Tabitha’s shoulders. She stiffens at first, but melts into the action.
Randy Angel: I am safest when I am with you.
Tabitha giggles a little and then sniffs.
Tabitha Osborne: That’s a lie.
Randy Angel: I know.
Tabitha Osborne: Then, it’s for the best that I leave.
Randy Angel: That’s logical, but here’s my counterpoint. Where you go, I want to be by your side.
They are both silent for a long time, Randy hugging Tabitha close.
Tabitha Osborne: Having you by my side is the most dangerous for us both. I won’t do it.
Another silence. Randy reaches into an inside pocket and pulls out a special “Off the Wagon” flask. He looks at it for a long time before handing it to Tabitha. She blinks at it.
Tabitha Osborne: I don’t drink? But you know that.
Randy Angel: It’s a memento. I know it's not the same as me being there, and it's gonna be really different not having to fight off angry ninjas on the way to the liquor store for me. But we'll meet up again, and when we do, you better tell your octopus-faced friend to look out! Is your flight soon?
Tabitha Osborne: Yes. My Uber is here.
Randy Angel: At least let me get your bags and your Grandfather-in-a-jar.
Tabitha Osborne: He can stay with you…as my…memento.
Randy Angel: I love it!
Randy gets the bags and heads out of the room, leaving Tabitha alone to look around the room. When she is sure that he is gone, she speaks to the room.
Tabitha Osborne: I love you.
