Guess what's back... back again. G1's back... tell a friend.
Ah, I mean--hi again, yinz! :>
As you know by now, NLW is once again doing a G1 because I... apparently need to be aggressively topped by my ambition every summer. Why do I say that? Because just as BB Gunn explained, the G1 this year will feature four groups of four, with the participants randomly being placed into said groups. These will be given the wildly creative names of Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D. Each group will have a match against every other member of their group. A win is worth two points, a tie is worth one, and a loss is worth zero, which is the same system as last year. The person in each group with the highest total number of points will advance to the semi-finals, where the winner of Group A will face Group B, and the winner of Group C will face Group D. And the finals..?
That'll be the main event of Collision Course, with the winner of that match becoming the Number One Contender for the NLW World Championship.
As has become tradition, that NLW World Championship match will be the main event of Homecoming, which is NLW's Wrestlemania.
Now, just the same as before, I want to make it clear that if you sign up for this, you will be on the card for three shows straight at a minimum starting with Ascendancy XVII, so please keep that in mind. To make things a little easier for the roster members participating, though, we will be adjusting the RP word limit as follows.
- Round Robin Round - 1 RP, 500 words
- Semi-Finals - 1 RP, 750 words
- Finals - 2 RPs, 1000 words
The matches for the round robin matches will also be shorter to make it easier on the side of the admins, with the semi-finals being our standard length and the finals being a full match.
Sign-ups will be open until all sixteen spots are taken or Ascendancy XXXVI goes live, whichever comes first.
If you're interested, please reply to let us know--and if you have any questions, go ahead and ask them below as well!
