(The throng of reporters are buzzing with anticipation as they wait for Team Fairtex to arrive. Tong arrives alone and which disappoints everyone but he smiles at them and holds his hands up to quiet them.)
Tong Fairtex: "Okay. Okay. I understand that you expected to see Team Fairtex together but Phantam had another interview which could not have been avoided.
However, he'll be able to hold a press conference of his own soon when the time comes....."
(The reporters react.)
Tong Fairtex: "Now I would like to make an opening statement. I want to thank the people of Britain for welcoming Team Fairtex back to The United Kingdom. The last time we were here it was when Hardkore Britain existed and we were to face two men who called themselves The British Bulls but the match was cancelled and the place folded. Too bad. It was going to be a match that would have given us their tag team championships....but hey things happen. So now I'm open to questions."
(Tong points to a Reporter.)
New York Daily News Reporter: "You're going to face The Bastards to unify your SWAT World Tag Team Championships with their NPW World Tag Team Championships. How are you preparing for them."
Tong Fairtex: "Team Fairtex is preparing for this match with the same focus and determination that we always prepare. We never slack off from our training or our workouts and when it's time to step through the ropes for this highly anticipated match. Team Fairtex is going to be a well oiled and prepared wrestling machine."
(Tong points to another reporter.)
New York Post Reporter: "One half of your opponents said some very pointed things about Team Fairtex."
Tong Fairtex: "Why is that not a surprise or an outrage. I know the British have a goofy sense of humor and I know that they say some stupid things that are repeated in the British tabloids. I mean just look at the royal family's shenanigans and you can see my point. Now The Bastards are a bunch of immature trash talkers. I mean I heard what Rob Riot was saying and I wonder if his grade level was that of an elementary school kid....but hey to each his own and Team Fairtex won't lower ourselves to their level and we'll let our reputation speak for itself."
Daily Mirror Reporter: "They have a reputation for winning titles wherever they go and they consider the championships baubles."
Tong Fairtex: "That's the type of disrespect Team Fairtex expects when it comes to holding championships. You see our father, The Shootfighter, told us to respect the championships we win and not insult the championships calling them baubles or belts. They are championships and those championships represent the promotion they were created in. Baubles are just jewelry or cheap souvenirs."
Washington Post Reporter: "They have been successful everywhere they went and they're saying it's going to be no different."
Tong Fairtex: "Like I said it's not a surprise or outrage. Team Fairtex isn't going to brag how great we are and where we wrestled or whatever. We were in this business for close to two decades and never did we brag about our accomplishments. You know why. We let our actions speak for us and we settle things in the ring. That's the Team Fairtex way of doing things and that's never going to change."
New York Times Reporter: "The odds makers are declaring you the huge underdogs going into this match. What's your view about that."
Tong Fairtex: "That's okay by us. You see that makes us more determined and motivated to win this championship unification match and that makes us twice as determined to show what Team Fairtex can accomplish. You see we don't care about odds since it's what you do in the ring that counts and it's the final result of who's hands are held up by the referee that counts the most. So they can talk all they want and insult us all they want but the final result is what's in the ring and the ring announcer announcing the winner. One final question before we end this press conference."
(He points to a Reporter.)
London Times Reporter: "What's next after this event."
(Tong smiles and snickers.)
Tong Fairtex: "Where else but the annual mega tag team event of the year in SWAT called The Anzac Cup. It's not an event without Team Fairtex and all teams from all over the XHF can compete for the honor of being the best tag team in wrestling. That means all teams including The Bastards if they have the guts to come into our home and try winning that highly revered prize. We dare you and we'll give you a taste of what's to come when we unify the tag team championships come ring time. This conference is over and I thank you for coming."
(He leaves as the reporters talk and shout for Tong as he leaves as the scene slowly fades to black.)
