We find Joe Nobody, sitting alone on the front porch of his house. A bottle of Faygo Root Beer is next to his left ankle on the step. He grabs the bottle opens it and tags a small sip. Sighing in refreshment.
"Some things never change. The love of family, the company of friends, and unfortunately feds closing. That's just the nature of things sometimes, no matter how much we don't want to happen, sometimes closure is what's best, for all parties."
He takes another drink.
"Now, I should do the classic thing here, and spend a good majority of my time bad-mouthing my opponents. But, in this sombering moment that feels inappropriate. In a few short days, I will be privileged enough to walk down to that ring for a final time. I will step through those ropes, for one final show, and a part of the ending of a legacy. And, the fact that I'm able to do so is a privilege and an honor among itself. While my time here originally was short. It was still memorable, I was part of the first-ever tag team to hold the Fireside Tag Team titles. And that feeling, that emotion that occurred to me when I won them. To being turned on. To the things that caused me to leave, are things that I will cherish and remember for my entire life. It's so easy to angry and mad at part of what made me, me, dying but I can't. Because it doesn't feel right. They say all good things must come to an end, and while it pains me to see it so I understand why, Anthony Caffrey. I know you're sitting in your office, planning to make this a memorable send-out. I know you're listening to me. I know you're listening to all the words that I'm saying. So while this maybe weird to hear somebody say in a promo. Let's get down to brass tacks here. I've been doing this for a long time. And, 9 years ago my passion for this business died. And, I just went through the motions and it was people like you who helped rekindle That Fire Within Me. It was companies like Fireside that helped rekindle, that passion in me that I thought was dead. So, thank you. Thank you for giving me a chance. Thank you for letting me come back. And, thank you for introducing me to one of the greatest men, I ever met in my life. A man that you know very well Caffrey. A man that probably should be here more than me. And trust me when I say this. There would be no greater feeling to me, no greater scene. Then when the final bell rings, when you stand there, and you tell all the fans thank you. If we didn't see a muscle-bound Scotsman in an AVA t-shirt walk down that ramp. Enter a Fireside ring for the very first time, and do the simple thing of hugging you. Because, I think hustles and bustles, what happened over the last couple of months. A simple act, would mean more than anything else. More than you titles, more than you, or me. More than a federation. Even more than a ring or even a match. You need friend. You who once told people that spite was a great motivator, so what. So is respect, so it's passion, so is acceptance, so is love. You took a young man from Glasgow, hungry, you gave him a chance. You built him up. You broke him down. And, then you gave me him to fix, and now look at him. He's got a protégé of his own. You have established the careers of so many men. This show is not about Fireside ending. It's about painting the ending of its Legacy. Making it go from fed to Legend. and to some like me, that feeling it's something that will be absolutely perfect."
