TWO DAYS BEFORE ADRENALINE II
Why had she decided to join Infinite Pro? Was it out of spite? Was it because she just wanted to continue proving herself? Or was it because she just wanted to truly get under Jason's skin? Well, contrary to what others may believe, she's not here to cause trouble. In fact, she's here to flip the patriarchy on its head and make her mark. Though, it's only an added bonus that the company just so happens to be owned by Jason Long, her former fiance.
A man who had worked so hard lately to make her life an absolute living nightmare. He'd done everything to make sure she was miserable, and she could admit that it had worked in some cases. But, she wouldn’t dare admit that out loud, no matter how bad she knew he wanted the satisfaction. As far as Jason Long was concerned, he was not her concern anymore. From here on out, he was her boss and nothing more or nothing less.
It’s late night when she finally pulls into a rest area, at least for a little bit. She’d been driving for awhile to get to her destination, a stop just days before her IPW debut. Life worked in mysterious ways and those mysterious ways had brought her to IPW. Though, in the long run, she knew that it would be worth it. Wouldn’t it? As her cellphone was set up against the speedometer of her car, she made sure that she could be seen properly.
After a few adjustments and some moving around of her seat, she could see herself clearly and let out a gentle sigh. Her thumb and index finger held the cellphone steady as she pressed the big red record button to get things rolling. As the slightly shaky view came to a halt, cellphone was settled back into place and she leaned back in her seat with a small smile.
“Well, well, well. It’s about time I showed my face around here, eh?” Dark curls were pulled back into a high ponytail atop her head, hands resting in her lap as she crossed her legs criss cross in the drivers seat. “I’m probably the last face that Jason Long wants to see on his roster… Amongst other people, but here I am. I’m not here to cause any trouble.” A beat. “Yet. But, I only cause the best kind of trouble at least.”
Soft laughter spills from her lips as she tucks a loose curl behind her ear. “I don’t think I have time to really introduce myself to everyone. So, I’ll try to make this as short and sweet and to the point as I can for all of you.” She shifts slightly, adjusting herself just a bit so she could be comfortable. “Everyone else might have the same goals, they want gold and riches and so forth and blah, blah, blah. Me? I’m not interested in that. I just want to fight.”
“I used to be a lot different, perhaps some might even say, I used to be a lot better. But, they say change is good for everyone in a sense. Whether they like it or not. For me, I used to be a silly little fangirl who came into this business with bright eyes. But, admittedly, my naivety got the best of me. People used to use me as nothing more than a doormat, a stepping stone. But, that's not who I am anymore.”
Fingers steeple together in her lap, gaze focusing on them momentarily. “I don't want to be a doormat anymore. I won't allow myself to be a doormat anymore. From now on, I'll fight harder, I'll do whatever it takes to make sure everyone placed before me understands that I am not here to be another flash in the pan.” She exhales a breath through her nose, head tilting just slightly as a small look comes over her face. “I'm here to takeover and make my mark in this company.”
“The opponents that I am up against are not familiar with me, nor am I familiar with them. But, that's what's going to make this so interesting.” Hands clap together soundly, a gentle smile crossing her features. “I love to see what unfamiliar opponents come up with together. I love to see how our styles mesh and connect. But, my favorite part? Well, my favorite part is seeing just who exactly can handle the pressure.”
The smile remains as she leans forward a bit. “Some people can handle the pressure, in fact, it makes them that much better in the end. But, others? Well, that pressure turns them into a shell of who they once were. It's quite embarrassing really. I would know, I used to be exactly that kind of way.” Her hand waves dismissively, a light frown coming to her face. “But, we're not talking about that right now. I'm getting off topic.”
“I want my opponents to give me everything they've got. I want them to hit me with all that they have, but I need them to understand one thing.” She pauses. “Their best will not be good enough to keep me down. Anyone who knows me, knows that no matter how many times I get knocked down? I always get back up again. This will be no different, another night for me to prove myself. Only one of us can be truly victorious in this kind of match. So, that means we have to give it our very best.” She nods firmly. “So, I'm wishing my opponents all the best. In the end, may the best man... or woman... win.” She flashes a dark little grin towards the camera, letting the feed come to a slow fade to black.
