Zoran looks at the other three men and hushes them. He asks them to watch. El Rey takes the time to slide under the ropes and rest. Fox and Seth can’t look away. It’s like a train wreck only bloodier and more savage. Zoran drags Steve to his feet. His arms dangle, his scars are all opened up. The Final Boss laughs as he sets up for a powerbomb… and throws Steve over the ringpost and crashing through 8 barrels of Super Sake, drink a lot responsibly. Steve comes sliding out the other side in front of his family, covered in booze and blood, unconscious. Lauren screams and runs away as Phil and Mandi can’t bear to look. They grab their things and leave.

“Eliminated.”
“Eliminated.”
“Elim-I-na-tedddd-“
Steve couldn’t hear much else after that. The splintering of the wooden kegs, the roar of the crowd, the sickening thud he made as he hit the floor, it all seemed like a distant whisper.
He didn’t feel the crash either. His body was already cold and weak from the stabbing and the blood loss. He didn’t feel the alcohol burning his open wounds.
He didn’t even notice the alcohol that fell down his throat. Ruining three years of alcoholic sobriety.
He did feel the giant wooden plank sticking into his back. That was something he could do without.
But as Steve Awesome laid there in a pile of wood, alcohol and blood.
All he could see were the back of three heads walking away.
His family.
Mandi, Lauren, and god damn Phil.
Piece of shit.
His eyes slowly closed.
STEVE AWESOME IS MISSING!?!?
With Brent Sampson.
The XHF Rumble has come and gone. The smoke has cleared, the dust has settled and Zoran Sainovic is your new XCrown Champion.
As Joey Hawke rightly stated, “we have entered the darkest timeline”.
But within that cloud of smoke, we seemed to have lost someone else.
Steve Awesome.
Don’t worry. He’s not dead.
At least I’m pretty sure.
No one has seen him since we saw him go flying into eight barrels of alcohol at the hands of the new champion.
We’ve checked in all his favorite places.
The sunglasses hut at the mall.
We cut inside of a dusty mall with no one inside it. A painfully bored clerk at the sunglasses hut is in shock.
“I haven’t seen Steve in awhile! I hope he’s okay, he’s the only one who buys sunglasses…or anything at this mall. We need him!”
…
“Fireside closing?
The clerk shakes his head then grabs a pair of sunglasses off the rack.
“I don’t know about that, but I do know that these sunglasses in my hand are super light resistant. Perfect for when you are sitting by the fireside.
“Usually it’s pretty dark when you sit by a fire. Why would you need sunglasses?”
The clerk glares.
“Ya gonna buy something or not?”
Those little hibachi grill places where the cooks are funny and do tricks with the food at the table.
We cut to find a fancy chef juggling chunks of meat on knives. The crowd around the table is delighted.
“No sir. I haven’t seen Steve since that ungodly incident at the Rumble premium live experience. But if you find him, you tell him I said “making any rash decisions would be a huge mis-stake.”
The grill master diced up some steak and flung one piece up into his hat.
“Tell him I did the hat move too. He loves that.”
…
“No, I haven’t heard much about Fireside.”
The chef squirts some water onto the grill and it sizzles and turns into steam.
“This is the only side of the Fire for me. But tell Mr. Caffrey, if he happens to need a job, we are looking for a dishwasher.”

But he was nowhere to be found.
The man was repeatedly stabbed, how far could he have gone?
He wasn’t in any of the hospitals nearby and nobody has heard from him since the Rumble. We caught up with his family before their flight home from Spain. They were unfortunate enough to be sitting in the front row for the whole terrible incident. Maybe they would know where he’s gone.
Mandi Matthews
Ex-Wife
I just couldn’t stand to see him like that…”
The blonde haired ex-wife wrinkled her nose in disgust.
“…unconscious, bloody, the stench of alcohol coming off his body. It’s a hard site for me to see considering it’s the type of thing that ruined our marriage.”
She sighs.
“I didn’t need to see that, my daughter didn’t need to see that either, we’ve seen him passed out and smelling like booze plenty of times, so we left. Zoran is an evil man, and I hope Steve gets the help he needs. But that was the last time I saw him.”
…
“Oh no sorry. I don’t really follow the business that much anymore so I have no idea about Fireside.
She sighs somberly and her shoulders slump.
“I was really sorry to hear that UP wrestling went under though. That’s a real shame.”

Lauren Matthews
Steve’s Ten year old Daughter with Mandi.
“Even though he makes me mad sometimes, I just don’t like seeing my dad like that.”
The small dark haired girl said, a bit shy of the camera.
…
“What? Little kids don’t watch Fireside?”
She giggles and laughs.
His eyes open again.
The fluorescent lighting on the ceiling in the arena hallway seemed to be flying one by one.
He could see all the EMTS hovering over him. Poking and prodding him.
“He’s lost a lot of blood.”
“His pulse is dropping.”
This didn't feel right. This wasn't supposed to be happening right now.
His eyes faded shut.
They opened again as another medic reached down to apply the breathing mask. But a panic driven Steve reached his arm out to grab the man's wrist.
“Mandi? Lauren?”
Steve said. His weakened voice was barely a whisper.
“Where is my family?”
The medic shook his head.
“They aren’t here Steve. I didn’t see but I was told they left before the show was even over. They just couldn't stand to see you lose like that. I’m sorry.”
Steve’s eyes slowly faded shut again as the medic placed the breathing mask on his slow lifeless body.
Just then Zelda Knite comes running up to the stretcher just as the crew is about to load it onto the ambulance.
“Oh my God! Steve! Are you okay!?”
Zelda exclaims with eyes filled with tears. She comes to his side but the medic holds her back.
“Woah. I assume you are Mandi or a Lauren?”
Zelda shakes her head attempting to pass by.
“No, I'm Zelda.”
The medic doesn’t budge.
“Sorry lady, Steve only wants his family with him at this time. If you see them or know them, let them know he’s looking for them.”
The medic hops into the back of the ambulance with the crew and slams the door shut.
Leaving an even more upset Zelda behind.
“….I am family…”
Zelda Knite
Current Girlfriend
“That was the last time I saw him….”
She shrugged. Her eyes were soaked with crying.
“I don’t know where he is or what he wants but if you see him, just let him know I’m really worried about him.”
Well his family doesn’t seem to know where he’s gone. So of course we go to his fellow Bang Bros for some guidance on this mystery.

I haven’t seen A-Dawg in a hot second. Not since that brutal ending in the Rumble. I hope he’s alright….but I do have a stand in for him. Until then he knows he’s got us to talk to and stuff.

Steve puede haber sufrido una gran lesión en la pelea, pero sé que su mayor herida fue caer tan fuerte frente a su familia.
(Steve may have sustained great injury at the rumble, but I know his greatest wound was falling so hard in front of his family.)

Spike Kane
Cool but rude
EC is right. Steve might kill me for mentioning this, but he’s always viewed losing Mandi and Lauren as his greatest failure. They are the ones that got away, he'd always say.
Spike shakes his head.
Until he feels okay enough to return we will hold down the fort at the Fireside show. It doesn’t matter if we are one man down. Fireside will still go out with a Bang!”
With their Party Dude missing in action, one can only wonder what is on the mind of Steve Awesome and where he might be after that hellacious mauling from Zoran Sainovic in front of his estranged family.
Only time will tell.
We fade into a Spanish hospital nearby the rumble arena. A nurse was making her rounds. She got to the room marked “STEVE A.” She went to knock but when she did the door slowly swung open.
The nurse was shocked to see that nobody was in the bed!! How could a man that suffered such devastating wounds be gone.
She came rushing into the room to find that the window was wide open, curtains flapping in the wind!
She looked over to find Steve standing nearby, packing up his things. His street clothes hid the wounds.
“I failed.”
He shook his head as he closed his suitcase.
“I need to get out of here.”
Fade.
