'Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.'
Purred a voice from the humid shadows as the lights of the city spread off into the darkness, and then Sinclair Godfrey is shown sitting there. She stares down at the city, lifting a wine glass to her lips before she frowned. The grim and silent figures of the Oblivion Death Squad stepped forward, and she lifted a hand to motion them back before she turned to look at the camera. Her hands slid along her thighs, a shrug of her shoulders before she slid to her feet.
'It occurs to me that there are some among here in Reign, and beyond who think of me merely as Donzig's--' the Baroness paused, frowning as she lifted her head. Something clearly annoying her, and she waved her hand in a manner that was oddly close to the dismissive flick of his clawed fingers that Donzig did. '--right hand. And I am, you see I don't think anyone appreciates how much I do to keep the Scourge at bay. What I do to keep him off your backs, do you even understand that? But let me explain something to all of you.'
A hand moved to brush back her hair, and she sipped from the wine again.
'Gavin Drake? He is Donzig's creature no matter how much he fights against it. Luthor Carbrey? Oh, he bowed down before the Scourge because he wanted something in exchange. The Death Squad? Donzig plucked them from their old lives and remade them in his image! But me? I chose to serve him, I chose to walk with my eyes open into Oblivion. Everything I do for Donzig? That is a choice. And so when the Reign Board of Directors wants to sit back, plotting and scheming? And try to take from Donzig-gun? Well, they should try harder.'
Sinclair frowned, and she swirled her wine in her goblet as she sniffed. Her gaze settling on the city below, and she leaned against the low brick wall at the edge of the balcony before she continued.
'You see I have already beaten the great and powerful Esmeralda, I have already left the Queen of the Von Krauss Carnival laying in this ring. And so while she is distracted as always? I will do it again, because EVK? I have not forgotten the humiliations I suffered at your hands the last time we met up. You owe me, and I am going to teach you what it means to cross the Ninth Baroness Godfrey!'
Sinclair's fingers tightened on the top of the wall, and she glared over her shoulder.
'Blaze Freya. I am not sure how you ended up here, but sweetie? You're out of your depth, and I know you think you're good enough! I know you're a former SWAT World Champion, and you think you have what it takes? But I never forget an insult, I never forget when someone like you presumes too much and oversteps! And so my dear Blaze? I will give you just as much of my attention, and as much punishment as Esmeralda! Because I need both of you to know that Donzig-gun is walking into this with 5 plates, and we are walking out with 5 plates!'
The Baronss frowned, her hand lifting with a lazy motion of her fingers before she reached for her wine once more. And she sipped at it again, tongue flicking across her lips before she shook her head. Then she turned again, leaning against the wall before shrugging.
'Do the two of you, or the people who think they run Reign realize that I have never been pinned of submitted on the XHF Network in over a year? Do any of you realize that in over one year I have only lost two singles matches? And so for some reason, you think you two are the ones? Oh, I don't think so 'ladies' I don't think so at all! Because Reign belongs to Donzig-gun, and I am not going to lose to the pair of you! I am going to leave you both laid out in that ring, because I am the Baroness! I am Sinclair Godfrey! And I am the right hand of Donzig-gun! So I am afraid the conspiracy hatched by the Board is going to fail!'
Her eyes narrowed, and she looked down at the wine in her goblet.
'That the two of you? Are going to fail!'
A pause, and Sinclair lifted her head with a sniff. Her hand slowly sat aside the goblet, before brushing back her hair from her face. Her eyes narrowed, and she grunted before walking away from the wall. Her hand lifted again, fingers flexing as the two hulking figures of the Oblivion Death Squad stepped from the darkness, their skull masked heads tilting as they glared at the camera. Their hands lifted, balling into fists as she smirked.
'Of course, if you fight one member of Donzig-gun? You fight us all, so on the off chance that one of you gets lucky? Well, Mormo and Moloch will be happy to show you ladies what they are capable of. Reign belongs to us, this is as Donzig says? Death's Other Kingdom! And I--' a pause, and she lifted her head. '--we won't let the likes of you take it without a fight. So Blaze, Esmeralda? Get ready, because I am going to conquer both of you! And what is ours? We are taking with us.'
Sinclair smiled, shrugging before a hand lifted to brush across Moloch's shoulder.
'See you soon, ladies. See you soon.'
