El Rey: Here we go again. It feels like so long since I’ve been a pay per view for a local show, but here I am, one match into my IPW career and I’m on the first ever pay per view.
Zoran: Jerking ze curtain again.
The camera fades in as El Rey let’s out a deep sigh. The young former X*Crown Champion sits on a bench in front of his gym locker. He’s in the process of taking the tape off of his wrists. Off to the side we see the current X*Crown Champion and El Rey’s new “manager” Zoran Sainovic sharpening a knife with a hand sharpener. After calming himself with the deep breath El Rey rolls his eyes, being sure not to let Zoran see, and continues.
El Rey: Why am I on this Pay Per View? Is it because I’m the most recent former X*Crown Champion? Is it because I’m a third generation star? Is it to shove me in the face of my former employees Next Level Wrestling? Any of these would be great excuses for Jason Long, who I’ve beaten in the ring by the way, to put me on the Pay Per View, but none of those are the reasons why I am here.
El Rey finishes taking the tape off of one wrist. He bundles it up and tosses it off camera. He takes a long look into the camera and takes a deep breath.
El Rey: No, the only reason I am on this Pay Per View is because in my debut match I destroyed a man in mere minutes. I took everything a man could throw at me and then I dropped him. Turns out the man, like so many others, was just another goon. That goon’s master, he took exception and attacked me after the match. And that, that’s the only reason I’m on this Pay Per View.
El Rey shakes his head in disgust.
El Rey: My, mentor?
El Rey glances over at Zoran who shakes his head no.
El Rey: Partner?
Zoran once again shakes his head no.
El Rey: Fine. My Manager…
Zoran gives a half smirk as he sharpens his knife without looking up.
El Rey: …was right. I’m being disrespected here. I’m not going to do what I’ve done in the past, though. I’m not going to throw a tantrum. I’m not going to destroy a locker room. You’re not going to catch my throwing things. What you will catch me doing is stepping my game up and overcoming everything in my way, and you Aren, “Monarch,” are in my way. You know what that makes you Mr. Fake Royalty? The next person to fall victim to me.
Zoran: And don’t stomp on his foot.
El Rey: What?
Zoran: I’m just warning him not to stomp on your foot. Ze wounds I caused may have healed, but ze scar tissue is still sensitive.
El Rey: But why?
Zoran: I’m your manager zat is why. Your health is important to me.
El Rey: But that, never mind.
Zoran let’s out a soft laugh as El Rey shakes his head, clearly annoyed at his “manager.”
El Rey: So we have a couple problems Aren. One is that you attacked me and I cannot let that stand. I’m one of the few and proud former X*Crown Champions. That may not hold any weight with you, but with it comes a reputation, one that I have to am protective of. Our second issue, Aren, is that you dare to call yourself “Monarch” when you’re nothing but fake royalty. You’re not royalty, I am. My name means “The King” for a reason. Not just because I am a former holder of the Crown, but because I am wrestling royalty. I am the son of a multiple time world champion, in multiple companies. I am the son of a woman who fought in wrestling when no one gave a damn about female wrestlers. I am a King in this business and you sir, you’re not like me. You’re just a pauper, and at First Contact I’ll prove it. Don’t believe I can do it? Just ask your goon Echo.
El Rey stands up and puts his hand on the camera lens causing blackness, and with that the scene cuts
