Personal Information
Name: Jacob, but most of the internet calls me Kaji
E-Mail Address: Just PM me on the board or find me on Discord.
Wrestler Information
Name: Ruben Bowman
Nicknames: “Poetry in Motion”
Height: 6’ 7”
Weight: 285 pounds
Hometown: Wherever the Muses Dictate
Birthday: March 26th, 1996 (Aged 26 as of posting)
Physical Description:
Chiseled, muscular, but often dressed in period costumes from the Middle Ages/Renaissance/Whatever Fantasy Property is most popular at the time that inspires the Ren Faire crowd. Red hair, tall, angular, obviously very muscles, much strong, wow. I’m going to put Brock Lesnar below, but try to imagine if 2002 Lesnar’s body had Big Red (from TNA)’s head, and was not quite so wide. Still very wide, but slightly less wide.
Pic Base: Brock Lesnar (but only because I know you don’t really mess with graphics)
Wrestler's Ring Attire: Basically Petey’s Mini-Steiner attire. Someone suggested that to him and it wasn’t important enough to him to workshop.
Wrestler's Backstage Attire:
The above image, but the shirt is a little tight. Note that he won’t usually say anything backstage unless he’s got a verse or two prepared.
History:
Ruben Bowman is new to wrestling. He is clearly not new to athletics, but being a novelty in Renn Faires can only get him so far. All we know is he’s a literal interpretation of “warrior poet.” He does a fight, he does a write. Step to him, you’ll see the lights.
But for real, though. Ruben has trained for this for a while, which will surprise no one who looks at him in his ring attire, but his idea of how to stand out in a crowd of giants is to be one who only speaks in meter. Think a wrestling battle rapper....okay, that, but even MORE white.
Alignment: Heel
Psychological Make-up:
He’s fine. As fine as any poet is. Maybe he’s a tortured artist? Maybe he thinks he’s better than everyone else because he is a poet and poetry is hard? Maybe those are stereotypes and fuck you for thinking them? I dunno man, he says he just wants to wrestle and write poetry so he combined the two. If you say mean things about his poetry, he’ll go hell for leather on your ass. If you say good things about his poems, he’ll probably be nicer to you, but at the end of the day, he IS here to win. Flattery will only get you so far.
Entrance Theme: ”Taurus Shrine” (PSP Mix) by Ryota Koduka
Wrestler's Entrance:
After a few seconds of “Taurus Shrine” playing over the speakers, Ruben emerges onto the stage. Despite wearing his ring gear, he still has a parchment and quill in his hands that look tiny in his large hands. Eventually he gets frustrated, throws them to the ground, and stalks to the ring. Once there, he slides under the bottom rope into the ring where he goes to wait in the corner. Is he thinking in metaphors for sick rhymes, or how to give his opponents bad times? The ref eventually reminds him to remove his headwrap, determined not to let the chainmail be a trap for whoever's coming out so Ruben doesn't get a victory lap for free. So Ruben drops his fancy cap and waits to see who he's getting paid to bap.
List up to three strengths your character possesses:
1. Conditioning (He’s clearly very strong, but he also spent all day at his last job in plate armor, so he had to develop a hell of a cardio routine.)
2. Power (This seems like I shouldn’t have to write it, but he’s very strong. You’d be hard pressed to find someone he cannot pick up.)
3. Creativity (He calls himself Poetry in Motion mostly as an affectation, but sometimes he will think of a sequence of moves you might not expect.)
List up to three weaknesses:
(For every strength, you must have at least one weakness.)
1. Arrogant (Thinks his strength and wits will get him where he needs to go. Sometimes it will, but he’s not as smart as he thinks he is.)
2. Inexperienced (He’s not new to fighting for entertainment, but he is new to REAL fighting, so early missteps can be expected.)
3. Focused (Which seems like a strength, and sometimes it is, but he has a very particular set of things he’s good at, and if someone takes him out of that comfort zone, he will get flustered and start making mistakes.)
Wrestling Style:
Powerhouse, but with a bit of surprising speed. A modern, well-rounded top-tier athlete. A little good at everything, but specialists can and will outrun/wrestle/brawl/strike/fly/cheat him.
Moves
15-20 Moves Your Wrestler Uses:
(These are the common moves or holds practiced by your wrestler.)
Vertical Suplex
Inverted Vertical Suplex
Stalling Vertical Suplex
Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex
Underhook Suplex
German Suplex
Tiger Suplex
Beal Throw
Bow-pulling Punches
Back Body Drop
Powerslam
Lariat
Corner Clothesline
Corner Avalanche Splash
Leg Drop
Rear Chinlock
2-4 Signature Moves:
(These are moves that your character does better than anybody else. I.E.- Ox Baker's heart punch.)
1. Running Big Boot
2. Moonsault
3. Dragon Sleeper
4. Muscle Buster
2-4 Signature Spots
(These are crowd-pleasing spots or set-up spots that are unique to your character. I.E. - Flair flipping over the ropes after getting thrown into the corner.)
1. JBL’s Clothesline from Hell spot where he ducks something in the corner, the opponent bounces off the buckles and staggers as Ruben runs the ropes, blasting the opponent with a big boot.
2. Ruben climbs up to the top turnbuckle. He has to set himself for a second ‘cause there’s a lot of him. Then he does a Moonsault. There’s not Vader levels of impact, obviously. More like Hugh Morris. Or Kurt Angle, but he hits it a little more often. A bit basic as far as a signature spot, maybe, but he IS nearly 300 pounds.
3. If it becomes clear while doing a Dragon Sleeper that it’s not going to end in a submission, Ruben will yank the opponent up and over for an inverted suplex.
4. Occasionally inspiration will strike! Basically, this is carte blanche for you to come up with some innovation on this admittedly fairly basic moveset that an opponent won’t expect. Given how new Ruben is to wrestling, it probably won’t be the kind of thing to pop the New Japan smarks, but something that is unexpected in the heat of the moment.
