About PW Grapevine
After a discussion with Kuroi about how "canon" the PW Grapevine actually is, I thought it would be best to post this quick "guide" to the newsletter.
First and foremost: PW Grapevine should be considered "Celebrity Gossip" - that is to say, it should always be taken with a grain of salt - officially it is non-canon, but you can choose to work it into your characters' stories.
Much of the content will likely be horseshit. Speculation. On the flip side, there is a chance that what I report on might actually be true. It is up to you, dear reader, to decide what is fact and what is fiction!
How can I be involved?
On Twitter? Great! So am I! I aim to track hot stories on social media and link to them from time to time if they're relevant. Hit me up at @poppashot69 (I do have plans to make a PWG Twitter, but not just yet) and I'll put in a snazzy Twitter link and shit!
Want a full-on sit-down interview? I'm up for that. Let me know, and we'll talk about it. Either in-character or out-of-character, whether it's with your character or a kayfabe-buster with their real-life persona, we'll get one up.
Feel free to react to stories published by the newsletter - but please be aware that some stories may be published in order to start angles or move them along... care should be taken when deciding whether to flat-out refute or confirm a story as your denial/confirmation may have to be eventually exposed as a lie. Great for heels, not so much for babyfaces. (That said, we are unlikely to run a story that a babyface was seen robbing a liquor store without previously agreeing it with that character's handler, or it being an obvious fabrication.)
[/ul]
Please bear in mind that the very nature of this dirtsheet means that not all stories are going to be flattering - in fact, many of them won't be. It's how Matt Smug makes a living, after all. Please don't take anything personally, and remember that it's all for fun. If you really don't like something I said about your character, let me know and I'll try to work with you to make it right. But do keep in mind that nobody should be considered "immune" to being reported on - after all, our characters are basically celebrities and as such are very much in the public eye.
Thank you and enjoy the newsletter!
