Taekhiro Shimomura always prepared for the best– it’s what he was always taught to have done for years that he spent inside of those wrestling dojo’s, training all day long and then only getting the minimum of six hours to sleep and rest. Most of those nights, they were sleepless ones.
Tonight, it was no different.
With the Time’s Up in Tanzania event just around the corner, there was limited time to prepare for a fight and to prepare for a war against everyone that was willing to stand within this man’s way– if it were to say, a point was proven ever since REIGN first got to hear from The Hunter. Blaze Freya, once again, proved to be inconsistent with how she never seemed to have spoken up to the words of Shimomura. Was it a surprise? None at all– but that doesn’t mean that he wasn’t preparing for some kind of surprise attack from them, he continued to train and find ways of countering her sufficient manoeuvres. From her own Modified Deadlift Brainbuster to even her Spear that she has commonly used to take down opponents– Shimomura made sure that he found a way to counter everything that Blaze could throw at him and score a quick clean victory in his name.
However, with that very minimal time left– he knew that he shouldn’t focus on just the one person but all five members of this sacred roster that are looking to accomplish their matches to a quick finish. The man known as ‘null’ was someone brand new, much like Shimomura himself, and this was a moment to prove himself upon the REIGN roster. The man named ‘null’ wasn’t new, however, as he had competed in the Cruiserfest tournament just last month and failed to qualify in the final matches as he had teamed with Dylan Black. This wasn’t your average brand new and fresh professional wrestler looking to outshine and perform on a grandiose stage– the man named ‘null’ had proven himself to an extent. Although, whether or not he was given the larger stage because of who he had worked with on those nights? A point yet to be proven. Taekhiro didn’t see him as a threat, much like some would’ve done after the Cruiserfest tournament had ended.
Though, his opponent for this event coming up was a known ‘legend’ of sorts. No matter what he had heard about this man, they always came up with the same word again and again. That undesirable word -- ‘legend’. Death Trap was given that moniker, for an apparent reason, and Taekhiro knew that this was exactly what he wanted to prove. After all, taking a deep dive into the history of what is Death Trap? His past shows zero formalities whatsoever, and what is left of a career was truly created upon his ‘career resurgence’ back in the year of 2019. Throughout his Master Class Championship Wrestling run, it’s what created the name ‘Death Trap’ to become a more household name than it’s ever been over the past twenty years that he had been wrestling for. Taekhiro knew though that this wasn’t going to be a tough person to become quicker than– a ‘submission specialist’ – at best – would take their time to try and work the limbs or the bones of their opponents, especially when setting up for his Dragon Clutch submission finisher.
That is what made Taekhiro smarter, better, and stronger. The Hunter made each strike matter the most and he made sure that each strike counted toward a quick finish– someone like Death Trap could not compete upon that level and become that quick to the part.
On the other hand, the final of the three matches seemed to be filled… with filler, per se.
In each conversation that there is to be had about Donzig, the word ‘workhorse’ always seemed to have come up and he was always on the road to prove himself to be somebody and not being a nobody. Taekhiro, on the other hand, begged to differ. For a man to simply ‘jump’ and ‘tour’ from promotion to promotion, he had a hard time really trying to prove himself into being someone noteworthy. If anything, he proved to be just on the same level of inconsistency than someone like Blaze Freya. As were his ‘words of wisdom’, a man prophesying to being a larger-scaled figure to man – at the level of being god-like – with nothing to prove for this accusation of being a supposed god-like figure to the wrestling world. Though, he hadn’t reached the status of being a ‘legend’, much like his opponent– Rat Bastard.
A man who bases their whole personality on being a legend– if there was anyone who would drain any meaning out of the namesake of being a legend, this was the man to have done so. Rat Bastard proved himself all of those years ago as being the first ever XHF X*Crown Champion, however, he hasn’t done anything that is grateful in recent years since he made his return. Outside of a Phoenix Championship win, there hasn’t been a thing that Rat Bastard has done that’s well-known. ‘Rat’ is the prime example of a legend needing to be put down and into their place, something that Shimomura is willing to provide for everyone within this sport, and willing to provide for Rat Bastard himself.
Time is of the essence when it comes to Time’s Up in Tanzania, the truth is going to be shown when The Hunter is proven to be the best of the best that there is in the shortest amount of time possible. The cleansing of REIGN begins, Taekhiro Shimomura arrives–
“(And to all five of you, I am ready for combat.)”
Cut.
