As the static, The Cult of Personality blares through The PA strobe lights illuminate the stage.
Beneath the massive x on the titan tron , Razor Blade makes his entrance. The Best in The World is armed with a mic and standing at the head of stage,
he takes a moment to observe the battlefield.
Razor Blade marches ahead focused and undeterred, No high-fives or pandering tonight. He
goes straight to the ring, scaling the stairs and stepping through the ropes before claiming
the center of the ring just as the second verse is kicking in, Razor
stands there for a while without saying a word. Even after his music fades, it takes
the fans some time to settle down Once
they do, he begins.
The Best in The World|Razor Blade: Actions speak louder then words.
The Best in The World|Razor Blade: Says the guy who just loves the sound of his own voice
and never shuts up once he's got a mic in hand, right? I
believe it, though, and as cringe y as it is to dish out a cliche platitude like that, it's the
foundation of what this match is about.
Blade brushes a hand through the air, emphasizing an imaginary marquee
The Best in The World|Razor Blade: Razor Blade versus Chris Mark at Collision Course. So far
the only match announced without a Championship title on the line
and we're getting top billing. This is the people's Main event -
He has to pause for a second when the crowd interrupts mid-sentence with some enthusiastic agreement.
The Best in The World|Razor Blade: - and there's something more than gold and leather at
stake here. there's no such thing as a'' sure thing'' in
professional sports but I can tell you that the odds are pretty god damn high we're
gonna give you folks what's traditionally
been called a '' barn burner'' of a match. two athletes who don't have the time for or any interest in the bullsh*t so prevalent in
the NLW today going toe-to-toe and laying it all out here to figure out which one of
of us is the better man Chris Mark's a great
wrestler So am I. All the ingredients are there.
Even after all these years, I'm still a fan at heart... and the idea of a timeless, back- and-fourth, and neck- and-neck, do-or-die mat
classic gets excited as all hell. if it were any two other surefire squaring off at the Biggest party of the Summer, I'd be Chomping at the bit to see it go down. Front row at the monitor
in the back. things is... being that I'm involved
in this one, my perspective's a bit titled and while I'd willing to bet the house you're gonna
get your money's worth, I'm
not coming out to entertain you. I coming out to put Chris Mark down.
The Threat earns some serious cheers from the capacity crowd.
The Best in the World|Razor Blade: Hey I get it Chris Mark's fantastic. This isn't personal.
We're not exactly best pals backstage or anything, but I don't
have a problem with the dude beyond the fact he's stepping to me thinking he can beat me.
You guys all saw it - a few
weeks back, I laid out the open challenge, Chris Mark comes down... then What?
The Best in The World taps his forehead.
The Best in The World|Razor Blade: The head butt heard around the world...
The Best in The World|Razor Blade: This is me getting to the point now - about actions
speaking louder than words. I know that Violence is a language the
Shell-raiser understands... and I needed to communicate to him right off the bat that is
going to be a humbling
experience. The story of his year so far is getting to plate with the bases loaded at the bottom
of the ninth and striking out
time and time again. My narrative's little different - one rough night derailing the most
dominant reign Ascendancy has ever
seen. I've spent months in perdition, paying my penance and earning the right to call myself
Best in The World again, whereas
Chris Marks thinks he's got the right to keep coming back for seconds no matter how many times he flops, that's not how this
works.
But we've got opposing momentum's, I'm sloughing forward, inch by inch by the week and he's doing anything he can to stop
himself from losing more ground. my actions - the work I've done - speaks for itself, So does Chris Mark's. Zero clutch, No
follow- through. He can't get the job done... so it falls on me to be the man with the bittersweet job of killing his dream and
taking that spot he's been too proud to let go of yet.
While the pro-Razor fans rally to his cause, those Chris-O-Malicous are back to booing.
The Best in The World|Razor Blade: For months now, I've felt like the Collision of Razor''
banner has had a question mark at the end of it. it's taken me a
minute to figure things out... and now I'm running out of time to get it right. I beat Chris Mark, I can stomp an exclamation on
there instead and fly it high when I go to get my NLW World Championship back.
[Razor drops the Mic his music turns back on and exited out of the NLW Collision Course ring and heads straight back up towards the stage and goes back to his locker room before the PPV begins this Sunday]
