“Well, I want to respect you, Julianna. I really do…”
The scene opens up with a shadow sitting on a cliff, his back turned on the camera, his head up and looking at the full moon adorning the sky.
“It´s just that you make it so hard for me to do so. You play the cards in your hand not so very well, it actually is predictable and a bore fest. You downplay my success and up-bring your very own, despite it not being that much of impressive.”
The shadow leans back and lies on the cliff, his forearms behind his head, possibly still staring at the full moon.
“You’re just like this moon; pretty to look at but shallow and without a light of your own. But unlike this moon, which steals its light from the sun, you do not seem to respect your light-bringers. You see, Julianna Di Maria, a fighter is only as good as his best fight. So, if everyone you have faced and if this very Eron Hunter are nothing but mediocrity, then what does that make of you?
That makes you a nullity.
You think that if you go in every match and have the same bore fest attitude towards your fellow wrestlers, that that makes you better than anyone else, that that makes you special. Well, Di Maria, that doesn’t.
It only makes you the generic narcissist number one million.”
The shadow stands up, sitting on the cliff again.
“You think you have me all figured out, now don’t you? I actually think you got it all wrong. I never played the SOB story card in my career. One never saw me sitting on the stairs with my head between my hands, claiming I needed to be respected because my life was oh so hard.
I never did that.
What I always did and always said, was that one needs to learn from his mistakes and from his past, just so that that very one could walk in small but secure steps toward his or her future. I never said that my life was miserable because of one injury. I always said that life is tough, though, and I still stand tall and confirm that.
And believe me, Di Maria, when I say that my life hasn´t been the easiest life possible.
But I always said that my life was the consequence of my own actions!
No one told me to leave home and wander the world at age sixteen. No one told me to pick the toughest route possible to achieve my goals. I could´ve easily lived the high life and had my choices backed up by my family and its wealth. But I personally chose to be the lord and ruler of my own fortune.
You see, Julianna, your analysis of the facts, of my facts, is a bit distorted and contorted, but that´s what one expects from generic villainous attitude number one thousand. In fact, everything you said and you did in your promotional video was expectable and expendable, to say the least.”
The shadow stands up, its hands deep in its pockets, its back now turned to the full moon. It starts pacing towards the camera until we can clearly recognize Eron Hunter.
“Now, if you would´ve started your promotional video by sending a message of respect and honor, well that would´ve caught me off balance. This way? Your Way? It is all predictable and seen before. Until you prove me wrong, Missis Di Maria, then what you are is nothing else…
…Just a generic villain with a pretty face.”
Eron stands there looking at the camera for some instants, for some other instants he whistles a somehow known melody until he starts speaking again in his usual tranquil tone.
“If you want to be respected, then you should start by respecting your opponents. After all, as I said before, a fighter is only as good as his or her best fight. And if your fights in this company have been nothing but lame attempts at glorifying mediocrities, then what does that make of you?”
Eron shakes his head and keeps on talking
“Guess what, Miss Di Maria…
…This time you are not fighting mediocrity.
You are facing a former World Champion. A Hall of Famer. A superior Athlete.
I don’t want to downplay your achievements and up bring my own; I am just stating the facts as they stand and not as you want to look at them. And even if I am not the best in the world, well at least I am one of the best this company has to offer.
This time?
Well, Julianna, this time it will not be a walk in the park.
And believe you me, when I say this…
…You better get ready or I will walk over you like a freight train walks over a railway crossing frog”
Eron looks at the camera for some more moments then turns his head to look at the full moon. He remains silent until the scene fades to black.
