The camera cuts in on Julianna DiMaria who is inside of a classroom setting. She’s sitting next to a chalkboard that says “SIGNS YOU ARE A CHAMPION ON BORROWED TIME”. She cuts right to the chase…
“Welcome to Signs You Are A Champion on Borrowed Time! Do I even need to EXPLAIN this? If I do need to explain what this is about, then you’re clearly stupid! Anyway, Eron Hunter… here are a few signs that you fit this description…
The first sign? The attitude of COMPLACENCY! I’m going off of this ATTITUDE you had when you decided to say whatever the hell you wanted to say to Ronnie Long in your last defense.
It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose a match? SERIOUSLY? HELLO, If YOU lose this match, you’re NOT the Commonwealth Champion anymore! So tell me how THAT doesn’t matter? Hey, you want to know how I got this chance against you in the first place? By coming in here and WINNING! So wins and losses DON’T matter? That’s the attitude of someone that is complacent and who clearly knows he is, as I’ve been saying, coasting on WEAK competition. You’re acting as if losing that title to Ronnie wouldn’t have been the end of the world and that’s DAMN DISRESPECTFUL to the wrestling business…
So you wouldn’t be even the SLIGHTEST bit angry when you lose to ME? Is that it? In a roundabout sort of way, do I not matter? HA! Yeah, good luck getting ANYWHERE in life with THAT attitude. If you think wins and losses don’t matter, then you have no heart for this business and when the times DO get tough, you learn NOTHING and you don’t GROW as a professional wrestler.”
Julianna scoffs, knowing she has a clear advantage over Eron based off what she just said.
“Sign two of a borrowed time champion?
When they just spew crap that contradicts what they just said. You immediately mention that you should keep winning and increasing your win-loss record. WAIT, but I THOUGHT that wins and losses DON’T MATTER! HOW does this make ANY sense? In your long, outright BORING speech toward Ronnie Long, your incoherent rambling just further proves what I’ve been saying. Hey, you want another contradiction for me to point out? Try this on for size. You talk about being a fighter and blah blah blah yawn snore whatever… and yet at one point during your monotone, overbearing rant, you described your own existence as “miserable”. Pop quiz: how can you be a FIGHTER and a CHAMPION when you have THAT kind of attitude? When you describe your existence as ‘miserable’, that is by far a defeatist attitude and that automatically contradicts ANYTHING you say later when you talk about being a ‘fighter’ and being a champion and all of this puppy dog and rainbow GARBAGE you try to inject into that nonsense.
Most people with a brain, when they hear what you had to say, automatically, and rightfully, draw the conclusion that you TRULY don’t know who you REALLY are and who you WANT to be. You’re one of those wrestlers whose personality changes with the weather, aren’t you? See, that’s what separates someone from me from someone like you. YOU decide to say whatever feels convenient for you to say at the moment while I think what I think and I SAY what I think. You don’t get that weather waffling nonsense with me! And truthfully? You and I both know that you’re not this motivational wannabe you PRETEND to be and that you’re a lazy, complacent, lackadaisical self-defeatist that hates himself and is always one of those people that need to compensate for something.
I’m not going to repeat what I said in my last promo because the last promo already covered exactly why you’re what I describe you ask.
You are, in every syllable and sense of the word… PATHETIC!
Julianna rolls her eyes, obviously showing amusement at her opponent’s misgivings.
“And the final sign of a borrowed time champion?
When losing doesn’t bother you…
And BOY did you LOVE to talk about THAT during your promo against Ronnie, didn’t you? Losing SHOULD bother you. The only way you can ever be BETTER from losing is if it bothers you because if losing DOESN’T bother you, then basically, you are saying that the loss is FINE and that there’s nothing that you need to do in order to improve in the ring so that you minimize the chances of another loss. Honestly, when you go into any match with that kind of attitude, it’s a match that you’ve already lost… unless the wrestler you’re facing is in the same, but smaller boat, and is most likely to sink before you do. Truthfully, with this horrendous attitude of yours, you’ve been setting yourself up for failure from day one! The ONLY reason why this failure hasn’t happened for you yet is because you haven’t faced an opponent that was anywhere near good enough to take advantage of it… until THIS defense.
Losing to YOU… hell losing to someone LIKE you… yeah, that fucking bothers me!
I admit that in the past, I’ve lost to wrestlers that I SHOULD’VE beaten and oh my GOD, it IRKED ME SO BAD… but you know what I did with that anger? I used it to make myself BETTER, that’s what I did. You beating me? Good GOD, I want to VOMIT at the possibility… that’s how much it bothers me and knowing me, I’d push myself to either beat you in a rematch or aim for the big prize itself to win it. PUSHING YOURSELF to be the very best you can be is how this business works… not this GARBAGE of “WINS AND LOSSES DON’T MATTER”
To me? You’re no fighter… just a hollow void of a human being about to be exposed as such…”
Julianna flips the chalkboard over and the scene fades.
