When I made the cold drinks post the other day I was just thirsty for sugar and not thinking of the heat- since then though South Korea has been experiencing somewhat of a summer 2.0 and it is HOT! How do you beat the heat? I don't have air conditioning, so theoretically I'd like solutions that don't involve that. Also DT wants to know because he hates heat and is too proud to ask for help and won't admit that fans really do work. All I've used most of the summer (been in the 90's non-stop most of the summer with hella humidity) are fans and occasionally an icepack when I'm super overheating. How about you guys?

Wet your shirt and then be in front of the fan. As the water evaporates from your shirt, it cools you. I also remember sleeping on tile floor and that was cool. Temperature wise anyway.

Not only is water the solution, it's also... a solution.

i had to get a new fan a few months ago.
This new one is intense man.
It says AC Operated on the box, but its literally a plug in box fan. I have no idea how it can kick out so much cool air without actually being an air conditioner.

I've got a small desk fan (like real small) that I predominantly use for work, it does an amazing job cooling the area around my computer. When I stand up I'm suddenly in the jungle, but sitting down? Real comfy. Fan tech has come a long way I think.

that is actually a terrible way to stay cool. Increased blood flow and vasodilation making one feel warmer.
