'Came crashing down to earth.'
Donzig snarled, and he looked up from beneath his hood. The lights of the city gleamed across the cold metal, and he tugged at his leather coat as he watched the crowd move around him. More then a few of those people turning to stare at him, and Donzig glared back at them before he lifted a hand absently to let his fingers drag across the worn brick.
'You know Death Trap, I often lament how much disrespect I receive around here! But now that someone gave me some? No, no, no, I don't think I like it at all! But at least you are aware what I am capable of, what I am going to do to you, eh? You see Death Trap you are a bit of a submissions guy aren't you? Which means you have to somehow wear me down, on that tiny little plank you have to wear me down. You have to get in close, isolate a body part, and hope to wear down a man who doesn't seem to understand pain. And then you have to throw him off the fucking plank!'
Donzig shook his head, snorting.
'The problem is? I want you close, I want you to be in striking distance. You see Death Trap, I can wrestle submissions, I could do this all technical, you're not fucking stupid. But knowing I can do something? That also means you know that I am not going to do it. I am a brawler at heart, DT. I am going to simply beat the shit out of you, I am going to batter and bounce all around that plank! I am going to punch you until you can't fucking stand up? And then sooner or later? You know what is coming don't you?'
Donzig's hands snapped together in a loud clap, and he laughed that weird mechanical inhuman laugh of his. That sound rasping and grating from behind the mask, and he lifted a hand to drag his knuckles across the slits of the mouth.
'Event Horizon.'
Donzig shrugged, and he watched the street with it's knot of people before he hissed. A glance up at the dark sky, and rain ran down across his mask and hood. He sniffed, lifting a hand, fingers moving absently in the rain as he stared at it. Then he shook it off, tilting his head.
'I came to Seattle to mock you, DT. I was going to walk among the people of your city, and berate them. To insult them, to hurt them to get to you, to mock them to mock you! But no, no, no, we are past that now aren't we? You cut me to the quick. Do you think I am a creature that can sit her and rest on my laurels? To be content with a handul of meager victories? No! Because you are right, I do want more! And I shall have it, I will have back what the Usurper took from me! And I will punish Reign for it's endless litany of insults, DT! And if you think you will stop me?'
Donzig hissed, and his fingers curled into a fist as they raked across those wet bricks.
'Well, Dave like I said I might miss that fucking pool. I had planned on mocking you and your little family, maybe cracking some jokes on your little hat, but much like the wretches of Seattle? That is beneath me now, because you see Reign? Reign has jesters enough doesn't it? And by the way, Death Trap you can wear whatever you want it doesn't matter.'
The rain kept falling, and Donzig seemed indifferent as rain dripped from his hood as he drummed his knuckles against the brick. And he leaned against the stone, a hand lifting to tap against his mask as he seemed to think. A shrug, and he growled to himself.
'You are right though, Dave. I did try to end you in SWAT, my intention was to rid myself of you. I wanted to end your miserable career, to kill the legend of Death Trap once and for all. And you know the strangest thing? I don't even remember why, I don't even recall why I decided to set myself against you. It is like there is a wild hunger in me sometimes, just a desire for destruction, for war, to cause suffering. It drives me like a beast, Death Trap, it tasks me! And I have no choice, but to give into it! And what I hunger for now? Is dominion over Reign, to take back what was stolen from me. To make this whole fucking rotting place suffer and burn for it's sins against the Scourge! And that starts with you!'
A hand lifted, and fingers waved absently as the Scourge hissed in that rain soaked alley.
'You say I want more? I say I will never ever have enough, DT! I will have to break the world to quell the anger in my heart! So please, bring your family, bring your whole little crew, and line them up on the deck of that ship! Because I want them to watch, I want them to look on in dread as I pick up your lifeless carcass and throw it down into that pool! Crash to earth? One of us is certainly crashing, eh?'
A hiss, and Donzig took a deep breath before he growled again.
'You mention Bloodied Fox, and as much as I wish I could throw him off a plank? It looks like you will have to do. But Caffrey? Oh, I miss Caffrey. You see Caffrey was sneered at, he was mocked, the rabble of the XHF looked down on him! They hated him for his pride, his arrogance, his overbearing nature. But in the end? Caffrey had the last laugh didn't he? He tore out his own heart rather the let these people drag him into their pit. But I don't expect any of you to understand the mind of an Emperor. And sadly? Unlike Caffrey? I suppose you will emerge from the water. But that is fine too, Death Trap. I could do this forever.'
A faint rasping chuckle.
'Some people are nobody's enemies but their own, yer know.'
Donzig shrugged, and he swept from the alley then to join the crowd. Rain running across his long leather coat, and he rolled his shoulders as he shook off the rain before he started to trudge forward. And he tilted his head, a hand lifting absently to sweep across his mask before he growled.
'I must be taken as I have been made. The success is not mine, the failure is not mine, but the two together make me.'
A pause, and Donzig looked up into the camera.
'See you soon.'
Donzig snarled, and he looked up from beneath his hood. The lights of the city gleamed across the cold metal, and he tugged at his leather coat as he watched the crowd move around him.
