The scene opens up to Wesley Crane’s suite at the Turning Stone Casino in Syracuse, NY. There is a long massage table set up. Wesley is laying on the table with nothing but a sheet covering his ass. Standing next to him is a drop dead gorgeous masseuse. She is massaging his shoulders.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “You’re really great at your job Zoe.”
Zoe: “Well, I went to school to give deep tissue massages. I wanted to work on guys and gals who have tough jobs. Construction workers. Fire fighters. Athletes. Mixed Martial Artists. Wrestlers. I was glad you called me.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “You come highly recommended.”
Zoe: “Oh yeah? Who referred me to you?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Tom Brady.”
Zoe: “Oh yes. Tommy Terrific. He’s one of my regulars. How do you know Tommy?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “The G.O.A.T. and I go way back. The fact is, excellence hangs out with excellence. I have very well respected friends. Tommy and I love to bet on foot-... the ponies.”
Zoe: “Nice. So how was your trip to Boston? A little birdie told me you had a successful trip there.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “I did. I went there and did what I said I was going to do.”
Zoe: “I heard.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Who told you?”
Zoe: “Well, don’t repeat this because she’d kill me, but I heard it from Katie Moss.”
Wesley’s head pops up from the table.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “How do you know my Katie?”
Zoe chuckles. Yes, I used the word “chuckles”...
Zoe: “Your Katie, huh? Well, we went to college together.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “What did she say about Wesley Crane?”
Wesley places his head back down and Zoe goes back to massaging him.
Zoe: “Nothing too much. I told her you were my new client and she said you should be in a good mood because you won your match and won some special stipulation for your big match in the UK.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Yeah, I won a fatal fourway match. Being that I won, I get to enter last in a huge Battle of Britain match. It gives me a huge advantage over everyone else.”
Zoe: “What does the winner receive?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “A shot at any championship they want.”
Zoe: “Nice, have you decided what championship you’d want to go after?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “The Wrestle:UK World Championship, of course.”
Zoe: “Of course.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “At the beginning of the year when you ask Tom Brady what he wants to accomplish by the end of the year, what does he say?”
Zoe: “He wants to win the Super Bowl.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Correct. And when he gets to the Super Bowl, is he satisfied with just getting there? No. He makes it to the Super Bowl and he wins. That’s exactly how I’m going to do things. I’m going to win my match at Battle of Britain and then I am going to face whoever the champion is and I’m going to win to become your new Wrestle:UK World Champion.”
Zoe: “You sound very confident in this.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “When you’ve got it, you’ve got it. Some call it cockiness, I call it confidence. I know my worth. I know how good I am. I know how much better I am than everyone else. As I said, excellence hangs out with excellence.”
Zoe: “So do you hang out with LeBron James?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Fuck that guy! I said excellence hangs out with excellence. I don’t hang out with LeBron but I do enjoy smoking cigars and playing a round of golf with Michael Jordan.”
The door opens and in walks Henderson. He is dressed pretty much the same way he’s always dressed. He walks to the side of the table.
Henderson: “Sir, I have been preparing everything for your interview.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “I told you already, it’s not an interview. It’s a state of the-”
Henderson: “Ah yes, that’s right. My apologies sir.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Did you make sure Torchwood would be there?”
Henderson: “Yes sir. Tucker will be there as well.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “And Fulton?”
Henderson: “He has prior commitments.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Okay. Tucker will be fine. I like this Torchwood guy.”
Henderson: “Yes sir, and he seems to like you as well.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “What’s not to love?”
Zoe speaks up.
Zoe: “Okay, we’re done.”
Wesley lets out a loud stretching like groan. He pops up off the table and wraps the sheet around his waist. It’s obvious that he respects Zoe as a professional, not just another “piece of ass.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Ah, thank you, Zoe. You’re the best. I’m glad Tommy referred you to me. As long as you’re okay with it, I’d like to keep you on as my personal masseuse.”
Zoe: “Yeah, you have my number. Just give me a call and as long as I am free, I’ll fit you in. If I’m not available I can always send over my partner Jesse.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “We’ll see. For now, let’s just plan for you.”
Zoe: “Sounds like a plan to me. Would you like to Venmo me money?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Sure, how much do I owe you?”
Zoe: “Well, I massaged you for an hour, so it’ll be $1,000.”
Off to the side, Henderson almost chokes. Wesley grabs his phone and taps the screen a couple of times.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Done. I’ll see you next week.”
Zoe: “Sounds good to me.”
Zoe closes up her massage table and walks out the door. Wesley turns and looks back at Henderson.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “What?”
Henderson: “$1,000 for a massage?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Worth every penny. You should try it sometime. She could probably work out that sciatic problem you have.”
Henderson: “I can’t afford one thousa-”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “So you got everything set?”
Henderson: “Yes sir.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Alright, I can’t express just how important this is.”
Henderson: “Totally understand. I’ve spared no expense.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Alright, exactly how I want it. Hendo, if this goes as well as I’m planning on it going, you’ll be in for a nice bonus.”
Henderson gets a huge smile on his face as Wesley walks off to get dressed.
