TAP OUT WRESTLING OPENWEIGHT TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINAL
Poena(#2) vs Close Collins (#6)
As we head into the final corner of the Openweight tournament, we see a rematch heading up the top of our card. For the winner, it's a date with Jack Diamond in the New Year in a match that would give either of the competitors a chance to get their revenge.
Poena made several major moves last time out. Not content with eliminating Isabella von Krauss in an epic match that was unlucky not to get Match of the Night, he also managed to settle a score with NOMAD - putting him on the shelf for the forseeable future thanks to a sledgehammer and his Penance submission. He knows what he's up against having beaten Close all the way back at Tap Out Wrestling 2 but how much has the rookie gained inside the ring since then?
Close has managed to pull off a trio of impressive wins this year, can he make it a quartet? With wins over Long, Gordon, and having given NOMAD his only submission defeat in Tap Out, the rookie has gained plenty of eyeballs on him who're all keen to see just how far in this tournament he can go. With newfound confidence, Close is the dark horse of the tournament given that if he wins in this match he'll have to face not one but TWO former X*Crown Champions but people still believe in him. Can he make this the Last Call for Poena?

Jack Diamond vs Sam Sawyer
Jack found himself on the wrong side of the Iconic Civil War that took place last month and, as a result, lost his unblemished record in Tap Out. Now he faces the only person in the company to keep a perfect record in Sam Sawyer. In a battle between two of the most popular wrestlers in Tap Out, who will come out on top?
Jack hasn't had the best quarter of his career so far with his loss against Jason Long coming on the heels of disappointment in the XHF's End of Days tournament and now Tap Out fans wait to see how he'll handle the double-dose. Will he come out of the blocks and use this match to ready himself for whomever wins this show's Main Event or could failure come in threes? We know that he has the capacity to set any show alight but can he rally back to put away Sawyer?
Sam was signed with little fanfare but has quickly become one of the favorites of the Lansky Ballroom Crowd. Not content with beating James Dragon in their second match with the company, they put away Rat Bastard last month in a match that surely has them on the shortlist for Breakout Star of the XHF Network next year. With the Sawyerlock and Sawyersault in their locker they can't be counted out of this match, their momentum seemingly polar-opposite to their opponent's.
Can Jack return to form ahead of his first big match of 2023 or will Sawyer continue to turn heads with her ever increasingly impressive wins?

The Skulltaker vs Jackalope
A match that stemmed entirely from what happened at Tap Out Wrestling 8, this bout is one where the stakes are high on both sides of the fence.
Little is known about The Skulltaker except that he wants the bounty put on his opponent's head by Isabella von Krauss. He was foiled in his attempts last time out and instead this match was made but will he act alone inside the ring? Already message boards are teeming with theories ranging from Hohoho and Humhumhum, IVK's clowns, getting involved or even Isabella herself but these are all unfounded as of writing.
Jackalope remains one of the fan favorites within Tap Out but whilst their adulation hasn't eluded him, a consistent patch of form has. Isabella hasn't outright said she wants to kill him but then she hasn't denied it either so this match could well be the match of his life whether he wants it or not. Coming off a brace of wins, can he make it a hat-trick against The Skulltaker?

Aiden Merric vs Spike Kane
Bringing the first-hallf to a close is a bout that is guaranteed to be hard-hitting as Spike Kane debuts in Tap Out Wrestling against The Wonder from Down Under, Aiden Merric.
Whilst Merric hasn't got an X*Crown reign to his name, he does hold the distinction of being the longest-reigning XHF Phoenix Champion in history. He also lives up to his bounty hunter moniker with some huge scalps taken during his time in AWF. He didn't get the result he wanted at our last show but Merric has never been a team player in his career having far more success in singles competition. Tap Out crowds saw exactly what his Ripcord Lariat could do at the close of the night as he near tore off the head off the head of Rat Bastard. He's a man who likes to compete for big game and few come bigger than his opponent.
The God of Xtreme, The Spiked One, The Pillar of Violence: Spike has many names to go by but a career that has seen him hold not just the X*Crown but also win Call to Arms twice alongside the XHF Rumble means that he's earned each and every one of them. He has his sights set on reaching the top in Tap Out but with the Openweight tournament still going on he's content settling for causing chaos and havoc in the meantime. Armed with an arsenal of moves that have put away the biggest and brightest names on the Network, Kane is going to want to put those left in the tournament on notice that he's here and ready to take them down when the time comes.

Wildcat Capone vs Isabella von Krauss
Both of these competitors come into the match off of a loss but before that they were in form that few would have predicted at the start of the year.
Wildcat, the third of our rookies, has looked impressive throughout his time in Tap Out going all the way back to January at Supremacy. Whilst it's his skills that have received plaudits as the months have gone by, he seems to be growing more confident when it comes to talking up his own abilities. This match will be the toughest he has faced so far in his time in Tap Out but a win would catapult him past IVK at a time when rankings may mean more than ever.
Isabella went to war at our last show with Poena, has she managed to come out the other side unscathed? She was favoring her leg towards the end of the match but can she shake it off in the camp for this fight? Another question is to whether the clowns will play such a big factor in this match as they have in other months, Poena didn't quite exact the violence he wanted but will they be once bitten, twice shy? IVK knows this match could be crucial in getting a shot in the New Year at the title that she saw as her own; here is where the rebuild begins.

The Thespian vs Tommy Strychnine
The Thespian introduced himself to Tap Out in a way only he can at our last show and now finds himself debuting against Tommy Strychnine where we could well see a sleeper pick for Match of the Night.
With NLW seemingly on hiatus, The Thespian joins Tap Out with a resume of high caliber. Boasting wins over Bloodied Fox, MYOJIN and fellow Tap Out debutant, Spike Kane. He comes into Tap Out with a four-match win streak from NLW and he'll be hoping to make that five once the night draws to a close in Las Vegas. He has displayed a knack for imitating his opponents which tells us not only of his skill in the ring but his penchant for mind games as well. Can he put away his opponent with his own finish or will he do so with the vicious and lethal Running Knee Strike to the Head that has proven deadly when called upon?
Tommy has had what viewers of the Crown might call an Annus Horribilis in 2022 but we know he'll want to finish it with another victory to take into the New Year. With his opponent favoring a high-tempo match, it'll be in his best interests to try and wear down Thespian and try and out-wit him with his technical chops. The Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Wrestler has seen his momentum come and go in fits and spurts but like the man says - he likes to keep the audience guessing.

Random McConalogue vs Kingsley Solomon
We open proceedings with two fighters debuting whom we know very little about.
Random McConalogue isn't a well-known name within the United States but has established a cult following in Europe. Perhaps if we stay in Europe it'll explain a few more things. The first being that she is regarded as one of the best exponents of the old-school catch-as-can style in the world today. The Scottish fighter used the lockdown throughout the pandemic to work on her craft and she has the capacity to put any match to bed with submission skills that are as innovative as they are effective. What she might lack in weight, she makes up for with her mental game - can she put that together for a debut win?
Kingsley arrived before the show opened last month and took in the sights and entertainment alongside his associate, Hunter Storms. Alongside Storms he counts current XHF Junior Heavyweight Champion, Daigo Arakawa and former AWF Prestige Champion, Raiden Ishimori as his allies. It's that Japanese influence that informs his style which is very much based upon the Japanese Junior style. He's also at home inside a Casino, The Gambler is a co-owner in the XHF's SCCW and will be keen to show that he can win a match as easily as he pumps out top quality events at the other end of the Strip.
