TAP OUT WRESTLING OPENWEIGHT TOURNAMENT LOSERS' BRACKET FINAL
Jack Diamond(#3) vs Poena (#2)
Bringing our first-event of 2023 to a close is a rematch of one of the most intense and violent matches the Openweight tournament has seen.
Poena did everything BUT beat Diamond in October and many point to the lasting effects of the match as the reason why Jack Diamond didn't go further in the XHF's End of Days tournament. Showing no signs of dialling down the violence, Poena has since snapped fingers and painted the words 'PAIN' on his chest from Close Collins' blood. Having made sure that NOMAD is out of Tap Out for the foreseeable future, Jack is seemingly the focus of his efforts and in a match that already has high stakes, just how far will he go to make The Ace of Spades see his light and vision?
No-one would blame Diamond if he admitted he wanted to face Close in this match. His opponent has gone after his son, threatened the safety of his wife and took the eye of his Head of Security. We know Diamond is mentally tough but can he risk the safety of his family in order to win the match? That's the X Factor for the Icon, a win would see him get the chance to avenge his sole defeat in Tap Out against Jason Long. Can he get through Poena to that match without risking it all?

Spike Kane & Wildcat Capone vs Jason Long & Random McConalogue
Spike and Wildcat didn't close out the year the way they wanted to, both suffering losses. However, in Spike's case, he's risen through adversity many times in a career that has taken him all over the world, with the titles to show for it. Partnering with Wildcat Capone, the Blood God might see a rookie who shares some stylistic cues with him. Both Spike and Wildcat also share the fact that they know the best way to get over a loss is with a convincing victory. Can Spike take the promising but rough Wildcat and work with him to improve his game and secure the win?
Opposite them is the Openweight tournament finalist and a newcomer with a style unlike anyone else on the roster. Jason Long publicly stated he wasn't going to take the time out from competition that his making the final afforded him and finds himself paired with McConalogue, the catch-as-catch-can expert. On paper, their strengths make for a devastating duo: Long's striking and aerial-based offense teamed with a catalogue of moves designed to put you down or tap you out in a heartbeat.
Will Spike make a claim for facing off against the winner of the tournament? Will Capone or McConalogue make a case for being top of the 'Ones to watch in 2023' list? And will Jason Long make it to Supremacy on a high and without injury?

Sam Sawyer & Kingsley Solomon vs Close Collins & Jackalope
Our second match sees a tag-match that is sure to be high on speed, intensity, and impact.
Sawyer found themselves just short of pulling off a career-making win against Diamond at our last show and Solomon showed promise in his losing effort against Random. Neither one of them is a rookie but neither are they quite the finished article yet and kicking off the year with a win in this match would be a great way for them to start making their way up the rankings and into contention for main-events.
Close & Jackalope far exceeded people's expectations of what a rookie could do in Tap Out and both of them have had their share of high-points since joining the company. Some might say the lack of experience in the team may hamper them but they've held their own so far against far more experienced opposition. Both men will want to keep themselves on the radar of Poena, Diamond and Long. Who knows, a win here might result in them being within distance of a shot at the newly crowned Champion when Spring comes along.

Tommy Strychnine vs Aiden Merric
We open up the show with a match that isn't likely to be one for the purists.
Tommy's 2022 was a mixed bag of results but he made people sit-up and take notice when he put away The Thespian with his Kiss Me Deadly knee at our last show. With no theatrics, no pandering to the crowd, could this be the no-nonsense Tommy it seemed we'd get when he turned his back on the fans? Still possessing the ability to take to the air when he needs to, the new-look Strych combines streetfighting with a high-paced and impact-based offense.
Standing in his way is the Australian Mercenary, Merric. Coming off a HUGE win against Spike Kane, you can bet that the Coober Pedy Huntsman will want the scalp of the Rocker. Not shy of a streetfight himself, he'll fancy his chances against the physically smaller man. He'll also know that the best way to stop a V-Trigger is with a Lariat that could take the head off a Saltwater crocodile.
A win for either man would put them into the top-half of the rankings and a win or two away from taking on the champion.
