As far as Javier is concerned, we never wanted this to happen. We never wanted this all to blow up like this. In reality, though, this is what I’ve wanted for some time now.
You see, for me this all started to go downhill when Steve took my extra mask to distract Mr. President’s opponent. I understood why he did what he did, but the way my career was ruined when Venom took off my mask made me unable to ever forgive him for what he did.
Since that day I have waited for the chance to punch him in the face, drop him on his head, and make him hurt like it hurt me when he took that mask. I got that chance during the End of Days tournament, but it wasn’t enough. Now I get another chance.
And Spike, I never had any problems with, but I have wanted to test myself against him since the first day we met. The man is a legend. He’s a king of this industry, a king of violence. He’s someone that being in the ring on the opposite side will make me a better wrestler win or lose. That is why I signed the contract in J-Rok for the Hardcore Championship knowing there was a chance that that he could be the one holding that title.
Now, though, I get a chance to tangle with him twice in the span of a week. Iron sharpens iron and that’s what is going to happen win or lose after our encounters. So while Javier thinks we never wanted this to happen, this is always what I’ve wanted.
Javier: So it’s all set then. The teams have all been revealed.
We open on the dynamic duo of Javier and El Combatiente in a place we’ve not really seen them before, in a booth at a coffee shop in Pennsylvania near the prison where Oh Violent Night will take place.
Javier: Now that we know all of the teams we need to get studying not just on the opponents, but on your teammates as well. We need to know what will be thrown at you, and what weapons you have at your disposal.
EC: What do you think I have been doing training with the White Devil? I have been earning his trust and studying everything he does. I have already learned so much about him just working with him. How he manages with one damaged arm is masterful. It’s almost like it’s not really hurt at all.
Javier: Yeah you’ve gotten close to him, but Harry is a wild card. Other than his ring clearing the other night there’s no recent footage of him in the ring. It’s like he’s been in hiding or something.
EC: He’s been retired.
Javier: Everyone is retired at some point, it doesn’t mean they actually stop.
Both men stop and look at the camera for a long pause.
EC: Usually you’d be right, but since a brief return at the start of the Network I think Harry has actually been enjoying retired life.
Javier: Fine, if you know your team so well, then we need to study the other teams. I know you and Kanyon just faced and defeated the Awesome Bastards so that should be fresh in your mind, but they’re rounded out with Noel and Blobby now.
EC: Ah yes, the old man and the walking waterbed. I remember training for them back in Fireside. I’ll need a refresher on what they’re up to now, but I’ve heard of I learn Welsh I can negate anything that Noel can bring to the table.
Javier: Fine, you’ve got that team covered, but the Pillars…
EC: You mean Spike who I’ve been studying for years. Dylan my former tag team partner and close friend. PRICE who I just faced. Those Pillars?
Javier: Yes them smart ass. So I guess our real focus needs to be Jesse.
EC: Yes. That man is a monster wrapped in barbed wire. He’s a mystery to me. We’ve never been in the same place at the same time.
Javier: So it’s settled, we’ll focus our research on Jesse and Harry. Learn about the chaos coming at us and the chaos on our side. Now finish your hot coca we have work to do.
El Combatiente shrugs and takes a drink of his hot coca as we fade.
We open on a similar scene if you’re a fan of the El Combatiente and Javier show. The two are standing in front of the Oh Violent Night backdrop, so that can only mean one thing, promo time. Javier gives a wry smile and speaks.
Javier: Even though this isn’t what we wanted. Even though a Civil War was the last thing on our minds. Even though we only ever wanted to face off with the glory of the tag belts or X*Crown on the line here we are. With that in mind I stand here alongside my client and I can confidently say team El BANG! Hermanos and friends will be victorious.
El Combatiente gives the thumbs up and Javier stands confidently.
Javier: Why is the camera still on? That’s it, we’re done.
Javier makes the motion to cut the feed, but mumbling can be heard but the words aren’t clear.
Javier: You want more? What more can I give you? Fine, I’ll tell you why I’m so confident our team will prevail.
Javier stands up a little straighter and clears his throat.
Javier: If you want to know why I’m so confident it’s as easy as breaking down each team. Let’s start with Steve’s team since he’s the main reason we’re even in this situation. He’s got a team of himself, Rat Bastard, and the Crinkley Bottom Boys. What do these four all have in common?
Javier pauses like he’s expecting an answer, but after a few moments of silence he answers his own question.
Javier: Shortcuts. That’s what they have in common, they all take shortcuts. Now me personally, I don’t mind, in fact I prefer it and that’s what attracts me to Steve as a friend and comrade. The problem is he filled his entire team with people just like him, only slightly different. Steve takes shortcuts with acts of confusion. Rat Bastard takes shortcuts on any way possible and isn’t ashamed of it. The CBB take the shortcut of having a giant balloon that no one knows how to handle. They seem different, but they’re all the same, one dimensional.
Javier shakes his head with a look of disappointment on his face.
Javier: They’re not the only one dimensional team. The Pillars of Violence are just that, a team full of people who only know violence. Now, don’t get me wrong, they’re all very good at it, but they’re easy to plan for. You know exactly what you’re going to get from each member of the squad. Spike, hardcore. Dylan, mechanical hardcore. PRICE, classic hardcore. Jesse, hardcore wrapped in barbed wire. It’s all so predictable.
El Combatiente nods in agreement as Javier pauses.
Javier: While they are one dimensional our team is anything but that. We’re a mix of styles that can handle anything thrown at them. Harry, h is just like the Pillars all wrapped up into on. If they’re the Pillars Harry is the foundation that holds those Pillars up. Zoran, he brings a technical style along with brutality that has never been seen before. El Presidente brings a versatile brawling style that is unmatched by anyone in the business. Then we have this man.
Javier pats his client on the back.
Javier: This man has a style no one on this match can match. He had the speed, the ability to fly, and endurance that is unrivaled. He is the ultimate wild card because no one can match him in this match rounding out what is truly the only well rounded team in this match. So that’s it. That’s why I’m confident in my team. Some may disagree. Some may say I’m over valuing diversity, but none of that matters to me, because even if this Civil War is something I never wanted to happen it’s here and I stand by my guys and win or lose I know that El BANG! Hermanos are better the best team in this match. Don’t believe me? Well we have the End of Days tournament win to prove it, and soon we’ll have the Civil War Games win too.
Javier let’s out a smirk.
Javier: And if you don’t believe me, just watch.
And with that the duo walks of screen and we fade to black.
