Life is sometimes very hideous, surprising, and exciting at the same time.
The night after New Year's Brawl.
Eron Hunter was sitting in his room, TV on, looking at the last W: UK show. He fast-forwarded to the Bastards Vs the Black Hand match, and then to the finish; Windsor assaults the referee…
The Bastards retain their tag team championship belts.
Eron shakes slowly his head, in disagreement.
The tag team champions are still champions, but at what price?
He sighs and then fast-forwards to the last match of the night. Besides the fact that he was part of the tumult near the end, with part of the HKW roster storming the ring, there was something else that had his attention.
Fowler won the match.
He still is the Wrestle: UK world champion.
…But at what price?
The TV is showing Fowler throwing aside a pair of brass knuckles, with Rob Riot snagging them from inside the ring.
“Tucker: No! Not like this Fowler! No!
Fulton: The Bastards have been telling everyone that they aren’t good guys, Tucker! You just didn’t listen!
Torchwood: Crane is out!”
Eron Hunter lets out a prolonged sigh and then, leans back on the sofa with his arms crossed on his chest. He shakes his head and stares at the TV with a serious look in his eyes. He is sure this means a lot of things for W: UK. It means that this is the end of an era…
…and the beginning of a war!
Wrestle: UK is a newborn child in the world of wrestling. It is a relatively new company, which has found success almost in the first blink. But even if it is so, there have been a few certainties for it and its fans. One of them is that some people, some fighters in it are the Backbone of this company.
And there is something that stands firm for sure, that being…
…That the Bastards are part of this Backbone.
Eron grits his teeth.
At first sight, the happenings at New Years' Brawl are nothing to be surprised about. Just three wrestlers doing everything they can to remain at the top.
But at a closer look things are a lot more serious.
There is a balance in this world and there is a balance in this Sport they call Wrestling.
And if this balance is ruined, a lot of things can go wrong.
Wrestling, just like real life, needs its heroes. Just like in real life, where there are people who do everything so that the good and pure triumphs, even in wrestling there is a need for heroes. People who lead by example with their deeds, people whom the fans cheer for, and people who make sure that ideals still have a place in the ring and out of it…
Every wrestling company needs people you can rely on.
The Bastards were part of those people, for W: UK, up until now.
They were part of the Backbone of this company.
So, what happens now?
Eron shakes his head again and seems lost in thoughts.
He grits his teeth again.
Suddenly something seems to bring him back on solid ground. The phone emits a weak sound. Eron takes it out of his pocket and looks at it.
