The scene opens up to the locker room of Wesley Crane. Wesley is pacing back and forth with a glass of whiskey in hand. He’s still wearing his wrestling gear. All that’s missing is his wrestling boots. He’s walking around barefoot. As he walks around, he drinks more and more of his whiskey. He finishes his glass and walks over to the bar. He pours another full glass and begins pacing again. Suddenly, there is a knock on the door. It’s a lighter tapping sound, most likely that of a woman.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “WHAT?”
The door slowly opens and there stands Katie Moss.
Katie Moss: “Do you mind if I come in?”
Wesley takes a deep breath and then lets it out.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Sure, after all, you need to get your post match interview.”
Katie Moss: “Well, I’m not just here for the post match interview. I’m also here to check on you.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Okay. Well, you’re here now…”
Katie Moss: “How are you feeling? How’s your head?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Is this a personal question or an interview question?”
Wesley takes his glass, which has ice in it, and holds it against his head. There is a bruise forming and a sizable knot where he was hit with the brass knuckles.
Katie Moss: “It’s both.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Always gotta get the big story, huh?”
Katie Moss: “Wesley, don’t do that. I’m here to interview you but I’m also here because I care.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “How does my head feel? It’s fucking sore, Katie. Brass knuckles to the face will do that.”
Katie Moss: “Speaking of the brass knuckles, what’s your thoughts on Fowler using them?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “It’s cheap. It shows that he knew he couldn’t beat me in a one on one match. That’s all I have to say about that right now.”
Katie Moss: “Sean Bean has made it a point to get involved in all your matches with The Bastards. Why do you think that is?”
Wesley takes a huge sip from his drink. He takes another deep breath and then responds to Katie.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “He needs to find some way to be relevant, right? Hanging out with The Bastards doesn’t make you relevant. It makes you a scumbag. So of course Sean wants to attach himself to my name. I’m the only reputable name in this God forsaken company.”
Katie Moss: “Scumbag? That’s pretty harsh, Wesley. Even for you.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Harsh? You’re kidding, right? Let’s think about something. I’m not a nice guy. I’ve never claimed to be a nice guy… I have a small group of fans that like to cheer for me, and that’s fine, but I’ve never claimed to like those people in return. If anything, I think they’re sheep. No, I’ve never given a shit about the fans… but the Bastards… they can claim they haven’t cared about being a favorite of the fans, but they were eating that shit up. Every week when the fans were cheering and chanting their names, they ate it up… and now, they’ve decided they want to be the big bad wolves of WUK… well sorry, chaps, but as soon as “The High Roller” Wesley Crane entered WUK, you weren’t allowed to be the big bad wolf. You can only be a pathetic second place wanna be. I am the big bad wolf around these parts and it will remain that way until I decide I don’t want that title any longer.”
Katie Moss: “Have you seen your next match?”
Wesley takes another sip from his whiskey.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Yeah, Henderson already told me.”
Katie Moss: “You’re in there against the former WUK World Champion, Eddie Havok. You’ve got to have a lot on your mind when it comes to that match.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Yeah, I’ve got a lot to say. Eddie Havok needs to understand something. He may be the former WUK World Champion, but I am the RIGHT NOW of WUK. Had it not been for The Bastards being scumbags, I would be the World Champion right now… so while I can respect what Havok DID in WUK, he needs to know his role and take his place behind me, just like the rest of the roster. The fact is this, Havok just stepped in the middle of a war. A war that will see bloodshed… a war that Eddie Havok does not want to be a part of. Eddie, this is your warning, stay out of my way or get buried like the rest. The Bastards want a war and they’re getting one. Odds may not look good in my favor right now. There’s four of them and one of me… but they have obviously underestimated Wesley Crane if they think they’re going to win this war. Tonight I lost a battle… but I will not go down without a fight. Havok, at Legacy #11 you have no choice but to lose to me… and then… Bastards… I’m coming for your blood.”
Suddenly the door opens and in walks Henderson. He has his cell phone in hand. He has a nervous look on his face.
Henderson: “Sir, it’s for you…”
Wesley reaches his hand out to take the phone. Henderson covers the mouthpiece speaker area of the phone.
Henderson: “Sir, are you sure you want to do this?”
Wesley pounds the rest of his drink and places the glass on top of the bar.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “100% sure. Excuse me, Katie, but I’ve got business to discuss. Maybe I’ll get a hold of you later.”
Katie looks a little annoyed, but the truth is, she got enough for an interview. She nods to Henderson and walks out. Henderson reluctantly hands the phone over to Wesley. Wesley places the phone to his ear.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “I’m guessing you saw the main event? (pause) So you know what that means… (pause)... I’ll send a car for you, we can have a meeting in my private jet on our way back to the states. (pause)... see you soon.”
With that said, Wesley hands the phone back over to Henderson.
Henderson: “I hope you’re sure about this.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Trust me… I’m sure.”
Scene Ends.
