VXW Ascendancy
June 28th, 2007
NEC Arena
Manchester, England
Capacity: 19,500
*We open up to tonight's Manchester venue of NEC Arena with the official Ascendancy event banner being displayed across the tron screen above, pyros going off all over the place and a generic upbeat show theme playing loudly across the PA System. We then zoom over to ringside and shortly thereafter the Ascendancy theme ends as the action is about to begin with the first in-ring activity of the night....*
*The opening part of "Animal I have Become" by Three Days Grace begins to play out of the speakers. The arena gets darker, with a dark purple shade to it. Smoke begins to slowly fill the area in front of the curtain.
"I cant escape this Hell
So many times I've tried
But I'm still caged inside
Somebody get me through this Nightmare
I can't control myself!"
So many times I've tried
But I'm still caged inside
Somebody get me through this Nightmare
I can't control myself!"
With the opening verse complete, white lights begin to flash all around the arena, as the chorus hits.
"So what if you can see
The darkest side of me
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe, Its not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become"
The darkest side of me
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe, Its not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become"
With the chorus going on, you can see the body of Chaz Murphy walk through the smoke, with his hood over his head. He gets to the edge of the stage, where the smoke is thinner, and stops. He raises his head and arms up to the sky, as fire erupts behind him, before quickly dying down. He then makes his way to the ring with his head down. Once in the center of the ring, he pulls his hood back, before taking off his trench coat.*
*We then soon hear the familiar opening strings for Fort Minors' "Remember the Name" play over the P.A. system.
"You ready?! Lets go!
Yeah, for those of you that want to know what we're all about
It's like this y'all (c'mon!)
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!"
Yeah, for those of you that want to know what we're all about
It's like this y'all (c'mon!)
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!"
As the house lights dim a bit and a red and white hue takes over the arena. The younger of the Fennell brothers Chris comes walking out from behind the back stage curtain; he comes out with a towel in hand and raises his hands up to pump the crowd up a bit. He make's his way down the entrance ramp slapping five with a few fans.
"He doesn't need his name up in lights
He just wants to be heard whether it's the beat or the mic
He feels so unlike everybody else, alone
In spite of the fact that some people still think that they know him
But fuck em, he knows the code
It's not about the salary
It's all about reality and making some noise
Makin the story - makin sure his clique stays up
That means when he puts it down Tak's pickin it up! let's go!"

Chris takes the stairs up to the ring apron whips his feet and enters the ring raising his arms up once more he whips his head with the towel and tosses it to the corner as he stretches himself on the ring ropes with each arm testing them at the same time.*
#2 Contender Tournament Semi-Final
"Phoenix Child" Chaz Murphy vs. Chris Fennell
"Phoenix Child" Chaz Murphy vs. Chris Fennell
As the bell rings, Chaz Murphy hands his cloak to the timekeeper outside the ring and Chris Fennell doesn't even wait fo this to happen, instead running up behind Chaz Murphy who isn't even ready for action and catching him with a sweeping kick to the calf area, making Chaz crumble to the mat. Chris sees Chaz getting back to his feet and waists no time in running towards the ropes, spingboarding off of them and kicking Chaz square on the jaw upon his return! Chaz stumbles back into the corner and Chris Fennell runs over to the corner immediately, kicking and punching away at the body of Chaz Murphy. Chaz begins to fight back, forcing Chris Fennell to back off and create some space between the two. Chaz tries to exploit this by running at Fennell with a clothesline, but Fennell ducks underneath it and catches Chaz Murphy with a dropkick to the back of his head on his way past! Chaz falls to the mat and Fennell rolls him over onto his back into a pin position! One..Two..Kickout!
Romero: An early pin attempt by Fennell, who has showed great promise thus far in VXW.
Shining: Chaz Murhpy still the favourite for this one, though.
Romero: Perhaps, but I don't think there is that much between the the two.
Both men get back to their feet and Fennell sends a couple of rights into the face of Chaz before attempting to kick him in the gut. Chaz catches the foot of Fennell, who out of the blue leaps up with his standing leg and catches Chaz with an enziguiri! Fennell again waits patiently for Chaz to get to his feet and again runs towards the ropes before springboarding off of them, but this time he catches Chaz with a crossbody! He stays on top of Chaz for the pin! One...Two...Chaz kicks out! Fennell gets up and stomps on Chaz a couple of times, making sure that Chaz will stay on the mat for a while longer. Chris Fennell then drags Chaz the the middle of the ring and runs over the turnbuckle and climbs to the top facing the crowd! The younger of the two Fennell brothers doesn't even think twice or turn around to notice that Chaz Murphy is already stirring on the mat before leaping off and straight onto the knees of Chaz with a moonsault!
Romero: We all know that Chris will put his body on the line, but he came up short there as Chaz saw the move coming.
Shining: So far in the match Chaz simply hasn't been able to mount any offense as a result of Chris' relentless attacks, though I could see the tide turning now.
Fennell rolls around on the mat, holding his ribs in pain. Chaz takes his time to get to his feet, steading himself for an attack when Fennell scurries to his feet and runs at Chaz, trying not to waste any time what so ever. However, he has no luck this time as Chaz drops to the mat and takes Fennell down with a drop toe hold. Chaz is right back up this time and grabs Fennell to his feet also before pushing Chris Fennell's head between his own two thighs. The crowd cheer as Chaz signals to them and then lifts Chris Fennell high up into the air with and dropping him with a powerbomb! However, the referee was positioned in front of Chaz Murphy and a flailing arm of Chris Fennell on the way to the mat has also knocked the referee down! Chaz Murphy grabs Fennell and makes the cover, but there is of course no referee to count the pin. Chaz looks up in confusion before finally realizing this himself, and his attention is soon diverted by the sight of Chris Fennell's manager, Kole Kaos, at the top of the ramp!
Romero: Well this sure can't be good news for Chaz Murphy!
Kole Kaos slowly makes his way down the ramp and then rolls into the ring as Chaz Murphy motions him on to try and throw a punch. During this time, Chris Fennell has managed to get to his feet and as Chaz Murphy and Kole Kaos now stand toe to toe, Fennell sneaks up behind Chaz and grabs both of Chaz's arms! Chaz looks helpless as Kole Kaos swings back and then unleashes a right hook, but at the last possible second Chaz ducks under it and Kaos inadvertantly nails Fennell! Kaos is in shock at what he has just done and he turns around into a flurry of shots from Chaz Murphy which sends him to the mat and fully out of the ring. Murphy looks at the grounded Fennell and climbs the turnbuckle before leaping off with Ashes to Ashes! He revives the referee and covers! One...Two...THREE!
Winner via Pinfall AND Advancing on to the #2 Contender Tournament Final: Chaz Murphy!
Romero: And Chaz has done it, he will be the first of two men to compete for certain in the all-important finals of this Number 2 Contendership tournament later on, and as for the other we'll find out momentarily after a short commercial break!
*As the fans wait in anticipation following the aforementioned break, "Eye of The Tiger" hits over the PA and the crowd rise to their feet, awaiting the arrival of Doc. The lights then turn to darkness, and soon two bright blue strobe lighting bolts shine on the top of the ramp. They cross over in a huge "X" shape, like the St. Andrews flag of Scotland, and as Doc walks out and stands under the "X", the lights turn back on. A spotlight shines on "The Boyhood Dream" as he jogs on the spot, as "Eye of The Tiger" enters the chorus.
"It's the,
Eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight,
Rising up to the challenge
Of our rivals"
Eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight,
Rising up to the challenge
Of our rivals"
Doc then begins to walk down the ramp, slowly looking out at the fans, before posing, dropping to his knees and lifting his arms in the air. Pyros explode in the background on cue as he does so. Doc then continues down to the ring. As he reaches it he climbs the steps and walks along the apron. Doc grabs the top rope, and drops his feet off the apron, but holds on to the rope and skins the cat over the top rope and into the ring. Doc spins round before climbing each turnbuckle to taunt to the crowd, and after he has done so he leans to one side in a taunt, flexing his muscles. Doc then stands tall over the middle of the ring, where he does some last minute stretches and makes sure his wrists are taped up properly as he awaits his opponent...*
Romero: And to kick things off for the next scheduled semifinal here's the "Boyhood Dream" of VXW known as Doc, and on another note to our younger viewers in TV land tonight, don't do drugs kids!
Shining: Haha if you say so Romero, though if Doc says illegal substances are cool then who am I to argue!
*The start of Killswitch Engage's "Fixation on the darkness" comes over the PA, the guitar and drums seem to build slowly, the lights move with the beat, colors flashing on and off, the refraining beat hits after about 30 seconds cuing pyro's to go off flashing in the entrance, then the lyrics come in.
"Fixation on the darkness that engulfs this world
Drain the life force of our people, change
Fixation on the darkness that engulfs this world
Drain the life force of our people, change"
Drain the life force of our people, change
Fixation on the darkness that engulfs this world
Drain the life force of our people, change"
AJ Phoenix emerges from the back in his wrestling attire. Black one quarter tights with red Chinese dragons curled around and A and a J going from the back and front along both sides. He has black knee pads and black boots with black kick pads, they also have red Chinese dragons on them, his wrists and hands are also taped up, and over the top he wears a long black coat with a hood with the sleeves cut off, on the back there is an airbrushed red dragon.
"Return to the womb, new life
Lay your head to rest, mercy
To give you a peace of mind, lay your head to rest"
Lay your head to rest, mercy
To give you a peace of mind, lay your head to rest"
AJ makes his way down to the ring seemingly all business, his hood over his head so we can only see his soaking wet hair flowing down the front and sides of his face, he gets to the ring and stands looking at it before flipping the hood back and spitting out a large amount of water that seems to glow red under the lights, he leaps onto the ring apron with one jump and gets into the ring before putting his arms out to the side revealing the world title more clearly, AJ takes his long jacket off.
"Come together inside, this body is only a shell
Change, the only way we will survive
Light transfiguration of the soul, of the soul, of the mind
Tell them they will not hold us down, it's time for a change"
Change, the only way we will survive
Light transfiguration of the soul, of the soul, of the mind
Tell them they will not hold us down, it's time for a change"
Romero: And here is the much more classy and pure of the two involved competitors this evening, it's AJ Phoenix!
Shining: AKA, the man who's about to be Doc's next victim in his quest for the World Title!
Romero: Whatever you say Shining, but before jumping to any such conclusions let's just wait and SEE how this next match unfolds shall we...
#2 Contender Tournament Semi-Final
"The Boyhood Dream" Doc vs. "The Black Dragon" AJ Phoenix
"The Boyhood Dream" Doc vs. "The Black Dragon" AJ Phoenix
The match itself begins with the echo of the ring bell, ringing throughout the arena rather emphatically. Moments later, an amped up AJ Phoenix and an arrogant Doc begin to circle the ring. AJ stares at Doc, looking as determined as ever, and Doc stares directly back, grinning a little as if to taunt him. After a few moments, both men lunge towards the center of the ring, locking it up. AJ slides behind Doc immediately, but before he can lock in a rear hold, Doc spins around and escapes AJ's grasp. The two then stare at each other again, before circling the ring once more. After some applause from the crowd and naturally some AJ chants mixed with "Doc" ones, the two men lock up yet again, this time with Doc getting a hold of AJ. AJ, much like Doc, evades his opponents grasp initially, but when he spins around Doc slaps him right across the face. AJ looks down, and laughs, and rather than back away as he did before, he returns the slap to Doc! Doc immediately stops grinning, and looks to go for a vicious punch, but instead swerves AJ by first kicking him in the knee, before hammering him in the face with two forearms. He then leans him into the ropes and tries to Irish whip him, but AJ reverses it. When Doc comes off the ropes, hes met with a hip toss from AJ, but he gets up quickly. He runs at AJ again, but this time AJ takes him down with a drop-toe-hold, before sliding up and locking in a front face-lock before Doc can get back up. The fans cheer over this impressive display of sheer competitiveness between the two, as AJ keeps the hold locked on, nodding his head in confidence as he does so.
Romero: An outstanding display of technical wrestling from two of the VXW's biggest superstars to date!
Shining: Indeed it is, from the looks of things this match is already living up all the hype or expectations and THEN some!
As AJ tries to keep the face-lock on Doc he begins to stir, and soon is on all fours, trying to push himself to his feet. AJ leans back and extends the hold relentlessly on Doc's face, but soon Doc finds the inner strength to lift up his right arm, and drives his elbow into the back of AJs spine. Instantly AJ yells out in pain, and loosens the hold as a result. Accordingly this gives Doc a golden opportunity to slide out, and immediately he hits AJ in the back with his fists a few more times, before running off the ropes. AJ turns around, and Doc goes for a huge front dropkick, but at the last moment AJ sidesteps Doc and knocks his feet out of the air, sending Doc crashing to the mat. AJ then tries to drop an elbow on Doc, but Doc quickly moves out of the way, and AJ hits nothing but the ring canvas. Doc then gets up, and runs off the ropes, and goes for a clothesline, just as AJ stumbles to his feet. However AJ barely ducks and dodges the clothesline attempt by mere inches, yet grabs a hold of the back of Doc's head, and goes for a reverse neckbreaker. But, Doc quickly grabs a hold of AJ's right arm from behind, and spins him around, before kicking him in the gut, and then nailing him with a huge DDT out of nowhere!
Romero: What innovative move progression here! These guys are absolutely tearing the house down so to speak!
Shining: More like Doc is tearing it down and putting on the proverbial "clinic" in this case, from the looks of things he's now well on his way to that very VXW World Title shot against MGK that he's been claiming himself worthy of from the start of this week!
Momentarily Doc gets up to his feet, and as if acting simply to make Shining's previous statement even more true, he throws his arms in the air and arrogantly taunts the VXW audience who react with loud cheers of approval right away. Doc then takes a step back, before placing an arm behind his own back, and takes a rather pompous bow for the fans, taunting the still-downed AJ even more in the process. Meanwhile, AJ has begun to stir at last, rolling onto his stomach, and trying to push himself to his feet. When he gets to all fours, Doc takes quick notice, and reacts by running forward, and kicking AJ in the gut. AJ falls back down, but doesn't have time to recuperate, as Doc pulls him to his feet by the air. Doc then pulls AJ in, sets him up, and abruptly delivers a northern lights suplex with a bridge. He holds it, and the referee gets down to count: 1...2...Kickout!
Romero: Yeah it's certainly going to take more than a DDT and a suplex to keep someone the caliber of AJ down!
Shining: Perhaps, but truth be told Ill wager that AJ wishes it didn't take as much by the end of this brutal contest.
Back inside the ring Doc sighs as he slowly gets to his feet. He leans into the ropes, and folds his arms over his chest, actually waiting for AJ to get up. When the self-proclaimed "Black Dragon" does make it to his feet, Doc runs off the ropes, and jumps up in the air as he nears AJ, before going for a tornado DDT! But at the last possible second, AJ puts his hands on Docs midsection, and throws him off of him, slamming the "Boyhood Dream" fiercely to the mat. When Doc eventually gets up, AJ nails a standing dropkick right off the bat! AJ gets up and breathes in heavily, before quickly going to the ring apron, and climbing the top rope. When Doc stumbles to his feet, he quickly runs to AJ, and jumps up to the middle rope. He throws some punches at AJ, who stands on the top rope, and for a moment both men stand there exchanging fists back and forth. Doc goes for a right hand, but before he can connect AJ blocks it, then bursts out, taking Doc by surprise with a headbutt! AJ then squats down slightly, before jumping into the air, wrapping his knees around Docs head, and doing a 180 spin in midair, taking both men off the top rope with a hurricanrana!
Romero: Good god! Well that's gonna have a definite effect on both these men!
Shining: That it is, but all in all things are truly starting to heat up at this point so it's gonna be interesting to see it all finish unfolding in this epic grudge match of sorts.
Both men lay on the mat, downright exhausted, but after a few fleeting moments in time, AJ crawls forward, and grabs on to the ropes. He gets to his feet, and just as he stands up straight, Doc begins to get up also. AJ takes advantage of the fact that hes up first, and promptly delivers a dropkick to the face of his arch-nemesis in Doc. Doc falls backward into the middle ropes, getting slightly tangled before falling through and onto the ring apron. AJ gets up and pulls some hair out of his face, before walking towards Doc. AJ tries to swing a right hand at Doc but he ducks it at the last minute, and then grabs AJ by the head, before dropping him off the to rope with a guillotine! AJ grabs his throat and stumbles backwards, before falling to the mat. Doc crawls back onto the ring apron, and does another quick taunt to the fans before crouching, jumping up to the top rope, then leaping off with a massive elbow drop, aka his all too familiar Air Glasgow finishing maneuver! The move connects right on AJs chest as intended, and Doc immediately goes for a pinfall: 1...2...Thr-NO as AJ manages to defy all odds and somehow STILL kick out!
Romero: What an electrifying maneuver by Doc, yet what a gutsy response to it by AJ in finding a way to keep his own World Title hopes alive!
Shining: Just another prime example though of why Doc's bound to be the first ever champion come Sunday at Rebirth, at least in my humble opinion Romero.
Doc gets up and angrily pounds a fist into the mat, before getting up. He pulls up AJ by the hair, and then he holds his head up with one hand, before slapping him disgustedly in the face with the other. YOURE MY PERSONAL VXW BITCH, YOU UNDERSTAND THAT AJ?, he yells, before he slaps AJ a second time in a row out of pure personal spite that remains over this unfinished rivalry amongst the two men. Doc just laughs cockily as he turns his head away, and tries to slap AJ a third and final time, but THIS time AJ takes Doc by surprise through kicking him in the gut, and pulling him in for a sudden T-Bone suplex! The fans go nuts with applause, as both AJ and Doc once again lay on the mat, out of breath and pretty much out of energy altogether for a brief period of time. AJ is the first to his feet soon enough, but Doc is once again close behind. AJ begins to kick Doc in the knees rapidly before Doc can react, then AJ simply pulls Doc in closer and headbutts him again! Doc stumbles off, but AJ quickly pulls him back in, not wanting him to fall down. He knees him in the midsection, and then pulls him in even closer. He sets it up..oh my could it truly beit's a Flaming Drop attempt! YES IT'S ALL OVER! AJ indeed hits the move in picture perfect fashion thereafter, and right away goes for the pin as the ref slides down in place beside a nearby set of ropes: 1...2...Thre-NO, as someone ELSE has appeared from up under the very VXW ring itself and reached over to grab one of the ref's legs thus breaking the count on AJ's near guaranteed victory!
Romero: -HEY WHAT THE, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!!!!
Shining: Its, my GOD it's that sadistic bald bastard himself from our rival company, the very same man in fact who'd mysteriously vanished for weeks on end in professional wrestling altogether until now...IT'S RAGE AND HE'S APPARENTLY ARRIVED IN VXW!
Thats right folks, as JUST before the referee could count to three for one AJ Phoenix, none other than the Revolutionary Redneck who's decked out in a jet black "Unleash the Rage" t-shirt and a pair of blue jean shorts respectively has appeared to purposefully yank the referee straight out of the ring as a whole. Now, as VXW fans live within the arena and across the world no doubt watch in livid anger, Rage proceeds to THEN deck the referee with a forearm, knocking him unconsciously to his back. Rage then rapidly slides into the ring, and before AJ Phoenix even knows what in the holy hell is really going on, Rage pulls him in closely, lifts him up, and after tossing the tired, beaten and battered AJ on his shoulders sends him spiraling down into the proverbial pits of hell with a TKO, more formally known across the wrestling world as the Fist of Rage ITSELF! With this AJ is utterly lifeless on the canvas as Rage smirks intently and then glances around a bit in the general direction of his former stablemate/ally of sorts in Doc, and merely sneers, before sliding back out of the ring altogether. He pulls the referee up to his feet, and angrily rolls him into the ring. Meanwhile, Doc, who is just now recovering from the Flaming Drop, stumbles hesitantly to his feet, not exactly sure of what just happened, although seeming to put the pieces of this all too twisted "puzzle" of Rage's together as he sees the Bald-Headed Behemoth standing just outside the ring and looking up at him with an extremely pleased expression smeared across his face. He shrugs it off at first though, not really caring as his eyes seem to be first and foremost on the very prize of a World Championship shot he's set out to achieve all along here tonight. Thus, he notices that AJ is out cold in a pool of his own blood nearby, and smirks confidently, before he tries to revive the referee, yelling Get up, get the fuck up you goddamn moron! before making a pin attempt on AJ. The referee groggily makes the count, still unaware enough of his surroundings and the bizarre series of events leading up to this to do so, as fans throughout the building begin to slowly turn on both Rage AND Doc with outraged boos/jeers for this downright deplorable turn of events: 1.....2.....3!!!!
Winner via Pinfall AND Advancing on to the #2 Contender Tournament Final: DOC!
Romero: Oh for Christ's sake Shining, this is a putrid disgrace to EVERYTHING AJ worked diligently for up until this point involving the World Title, in fact I think I'm gonna be SICK after just being forced to witness such a despicable travesty out here, and more importantly one that's likely been orchestrated to go down all along by the likes of these two diabolical scumbags, these two blatant con-artists in Doc and Rage!
Shining: Pffft lighten up man this is GREAT news for VXW's future in general, and besides if you're gonna hurl might as well make sure you do so in AJ's general direction right about now, I mean hey his VXW career has already been transformed into a living hell in the midst of Rage's actions so might as well toss some icing on the proverbial birthday cake, get it, get it?! Hehe..
*Meanwhile Doc gets his hand raised proudly by the ref who still remains unaware of Rage's interference and unknowingly acknowledges Doc as the one and only man this evening who shall advance on to face Chaz Murphy in the finals of this mini-tournament. Soon Doc angrily grabs his arm back from the referee's grasp though, but then shoves him down in yet another act of pure arrogant supremacy as the crowd boos steadily pick up more and more still in the background. He looks back to AJ, and then brashly smirks, before beginning to stomp the living hell out of him as the ref remains down! Then to literally add insult to injury the cold, calculated culprit himself in Rage now slides back into the ring, and likewise, he starts to kick the hell out of AJ as well with the audience boos becoming non-stop and even bits and pieces of random trash being thrown into the ring from all around! Doc motions over to finally stop Rage's stomping of AJ though, and tells him something that seems to cut Rage off from his ruthless attack however. Doc then rolls out of the ring, and returns moments later with a steel chair of all things! Doc again mouths something to Rage, and Rage nods evilly in agreement, before lifting up AJ and receiving the chair itself from Doc which he places in front of AJ's face upon leaning him up helplessly against the nearest turnbuckle of the ring. Doc then backs up all the way to the opposite corner, and with Rage turning to flip off the crowd with middle fingers as a show of his own reaction towards the boos, Doc begins to maniacally stomp the ring mat over and over and "tunes up the band", or Preparing for Wipeout as he'd call it, to set up for yet another of his finishers that's not been executed so far tonight...*
Romero: For the love of god NO Doc, don't do this man, between the impact and that damned steel chair it'll break AJ in half!
Shining: Oh nonsense Romero, do it Doc I say, prove why you're TRULY the Boyhood Dream and get the payback you rightfully deserve on that World Chumpion of our enemy once and for all!
*Then, regardless of all pleas by both Romero and the fans to stop this shocking occurrence Doc launches himself forward and rushes in to execute a well planned Genocide Kick STRAIGHT into the steel chair placed in front of AJ's face/chin, and thus the chair is jammed straight back into AJ's face as he drops lifelessly to the mat below! With this Doc shakes his head a bit more in disgust before graciously stepping aside as Rage moves in to visibly mouth the words "You, Me, Rebirth, Sunday Night...STEEL CAGE MATCH!" to the downed carcass of AJ Phoenix and then spits down on it out of pure personal spite one more time, an apparent confirmation though of yet another explosive Pay-Per-View match that's been signed off on beforehand by Alex Reid at some point! Thereafter both Rage and Doc finally turn completely away from AJ and upon sliding from the ring the two longtime friends raise one anther's hands high above in successful all around victory here tonight, while elsewhere the signature tune of "Eye of the Tiger" begins to reignite across the sound system. With a consistent string of boos ringing out from all corners of NEC Arena the two eventually make it to the top of the rampway where Doc has broken the embrace with Rage and now motions around his very own waist that the prestigious gold itself will shortly be his as well. Afterward the Revolutionary Redneck and the Boyhood Dream turn to exit through the curtains and along the way are passed by a group of VXW medical staff/EMTs who are seen rushing down to the ring to tend to AJ Phoenix inside.*
Romero: Well, to say the least this is most certainly a night that will come to live forever in VXW lore and infamy in many many different ways, but foremost for this jaw-dropping screwjob of a debut by Rage, and for AJ's sake I sure as hell hope he's physically ready since I for one would like NOTHING more right about now than to see that manipulative asshole get the beating of a lifetime he now deserves come Rebirth, all courtesy of the Black Dragon by god!
Shining: Heh I think we'll see one way or another in due time on Sunday, but for what it's worth I'm sticking to my guns and pulling for Rage myself heading into such an unpredictable Steel Cage encounter, so go baldy!
*Cut to commercial...*
*We come back from the previous commercial break, and we are backstage rather than in the ring where AJ has apparently recovered well enough to walk out on his own power, though with slight assistance from VXW referees/officials. The cameras slightly fuzzy though at first in this backstage setting, as evidently something has happened so it begins to refocus, and there is evidently blood on the camera, and its on the floor, a pair of shoes walk past, and move towards a body. Its oddly not that of the cameraman's though, it is that of VXW competitor Big D! The mystery attacker/figure bends over, and it is Rob Arnold himself as he comes into plain view!*
Romero: Hey, hes not meant to be here tonight!
Shining: That wont stop a clever bastard like Arnold though! He said hed not be stopped one way or another.
*Rob smirks, Big D is out cold, and there is blood pouring from his body and mask. Rob looks at the camera and moves towards it, getting fully in view of it.*
Rob: Hey Alex, I know this was my supposed night off, but I chose not to take it. Sadly I don't think Big D, nor your cameraman will appreciate that too much. I'm sorry it has to be like this. However this is nothing, absolutely nothing compared to what Matt Hicks has got in store for him on Sunday night.
*Rob smirks.*
Rob: I guess Ill go home now, Ive done my work for one night.
*Rob leaves as we fade back out to ringside for the next scheduled match-up.*
*"For Whom the Bell Tolls" by Metallica starts to blare over the PA As Mark Evil appears under the Xtreme-Tron. He walks to the ring to the cheer of the crowd, being followed by the Heavy Hitterz.. They climb into the ring over the top rope and awaits the start of the match.*
Romero: Looks like Hoppy and Chase Storm, the Heavy Hitterz are coming down to the ring with Mark Evil.
Shining: Did you figure that out all by yourself?
*"Metalingus" starts playing over the PA system. The crowd starts cheering loudly. Rob and Scotty Callaway come onto the stage and look around into the crowd. They then raise their arms and pyros shoot from the front of the stage. Rob and Scotty then run down the ramp and both slide into the ring. Rob does the RVD taunt and Scotty jumps on the turnbuckle. Scotty puts his arms in the air and Rob jumps around a little. They then both move to the center of the ring and highfive. They then stand and wait for the match to begin.*
Shining: So looks like the Everyman, is too good to come out with his team.
Romero: Give him a break!
*BOOM! "Ladies And Gentlemen" by Saliva starts blasting over the PA system. Pyros are going off on the stage all over the place.
"Ladies and gentlemen please
Would you bring your attention to me?
For a feast for your eyes to see
An explosion of catastrophe"
"Like nothing you've ever seen before
Watch closely as I open this door
Your jaws will be on the floor
After this you'll be begging for more"

Joe Everyman then comes out onto the stage. He is wearing a RIP Chris Benoit shirt and two arm bands. He looks into the crowd, holding his arm up. Maria Williams walks out from behind Joe and looks into the crowd too. Joe gives Maria a kiss on the cheek as they both start to walk down the ramp.

Joe Everyman and Maria Williams continue walking down the ramp looking into the crowd. Joe then comes to the end of the ramp and does a Brock Lesnar-esq jump.
"Ladies and gentlemen good evening

6 Man Tag Team Match
Joe Everyman & Rob and Scott Callaway vs. The Heavy Hitterz and Mark Evil
Joe Everyman & Rob and Scott Callaway vs. The Heavy Hitterz and Mark Evil
The referee checks all the participants and then calls for the bell as the teams sort themselves out.
Shining: It looks like it's going to be Rob and Mark starting this match off for us tonight.
As is so. Everyman and Scott climb out as do the Heavy Hitterz. Evil moves forward and so does Rob Calloway. The two tie up, and Evil gets the advantage, slinging Rob off the ropes. On the return Evil scoops up Rob and nails a swift scoop slam. Evil goes for the cover right away. One...Two-kickout.
Shining: Well that was close.....NOT!
Evil gets right up and tags in Hoppy. Hoppy climbs through the ropes and waits as Robby gets up. Rob is up and turn around, right into a horribly dangerous clothesline from Hoppy. Rob does a backwards 360 flip and lands on the floor in a crumpled heap. The ref pushes Hoppy backwards, obviously worried about Rob's condition. So too is Scotty it seems as he storms the ring and front dropkicks Hoppy right out of the ring. Chase is in the ring straight away and runs at Scotty, clotheslining him over the ropes, but going over with him due to the momentum.
Romero: Thinks have just spiraled out of control!
Shining: The ref should be in control here.
Romero: He's checking on Rob!
Shining: Rookie mistake!
Evil steps into the ring and beckons Everyman. Everyman steps in and the crowd literally blow the house off as the two square off. Everyman unleashes a punch and Evil retaliates. The two then begin to fist fight before Evil gains the advantage, Evil whips Everyman, but Joe ducks under the clothesline and stops awaiting Evil to turn around before...EKO!!! EVERYMAN KNOCK OUT!! Everyman covers Evil.
Shining: He does know they're not the legal men right?
Romero: It doesn't matter the ref is distracted!
Shining: But they're not the legal men right?
Romero: The ref doesn't notice the pinfall because he's checking on Hoppy.
Shining: They're not the legal men ri-
Romero: OK! WE KNOW!
Everyman gets up and taps the ref on the shoulder, but Evil low blows him from behind. Evil then grabs Everyman and flings him over the ropes on top of Scotty Calloway. the ref turns around as Rob begins to get to his feet. Hoppy tags in Evil before grabbing the ropes and launching himself over the top with a plancha onto Everyman and Scotty. Evil however runs into the ring as poor Rob turns around....HANGMANS DDT!! Evil quickly covers.
Shining: Now they're the legal men.
Romero: No shit Sherlock.
The ref counts. One....Two...Three!!!
Winners via Pinfall: The Heavy Hitterz & Mark Evil!
Shining: Evil and the Heavy Hitterz have snatched an impressive victory here!
*At this point we cut rather mysteriously to the backstage area in general somewhere. Initially there is noticed to be a man, lying on the ground. He is covered in vxw gear, apparently he is a staff member for this company. He looks to be unconscious, but there is a voice. A man is standing over him, with nothing but his legs visible. Black, long wrestling tights. Well that's not really enough to say anything, but we hear something, like leaves in the wind. It's a piece of paper falling down on the man's chest. The camera pans up and we find none other than VXW newcomer Killer Kane himself, grinning like an evil son of a bitch.*
Kane: War is building, escalating. It is inevitable, and it will undoubtedly cast an unforgettable shadow over both companies involved. No one, especially not the likes of one Nelly Angel this Sunday, is safe
*An evil laugh emerges.*
Kane: My name is Killer Kane, and the clock is ticking down to...The countdown!
*The evil laugh stops but it echos continuously throughout the walls. He walks away...fade out to commercial.*
*The lights of the arena dim as the voice of Puff Daddy overtakes the PA system followed by the voice of Nas.
"The Main Event has returned...
Its been a long time
been a long time comin'
Looks like the death of me now
But you know, there's no turning back now.
This is what makes me.
This is what I am."
Its been a long time

Looks like the death of me now
But you know, there's no turning back now.
This is what makes me.
This is what I am."
As the chorus hits the stage fills up with fog and everyone in the arena rise to there feet in anticipation. Green lights shine through the fog back and forth until they stop on the entrance way and a man known as a legend emerges from the entrance way. Some of the crowd pops at the sight of a true legend and others boo for the pure hatred of the man as Venom walks through the fog. He stops at the top of the ramp and looks around at the screaming crowd. His trench vest is long down to his knees covering up most of his waist. He wears his traditional black tights with a V on each side in white, a black head band low over his eyes, black tape on his wrists, and tops it off with sweet ass pick pads and long black boots with Vs on each side of them as well. He grins cockily and begins to walk down the ramp as the first verse hits.

Venom stands at the side of the ring as the first verse ends and he mouths Hate me to the fans shouting at him at ring side and then leaps effortlessly onto the side of the ring and then up over the ropes into the ring. Venom then spins around in the center of the ring and throws his arms out as he does posing for the crowd. Venom then heads to the corner as the music fades.*
*"Symphony #9" starts to play as the lights dim and gold lights flood the arena as pyros go off on the entrance stage. Celeste LeRue comes out with Rena Steel by her side flanked by John and Mike Hunter. They all walk down the ring as a red carpet is rolled out in front of them. The Hunters slip into the ring as Rena slips in after them and then Celeste stops at the apron raising her right leg up onto the apron and then her left one making a split as she slips in under the bottom ropes. She then gets up and waits in the middle of the ring for the match to begin with Venom. Meanwhile John, Mik, and Rena all leave the ring.*
Singles Match
Venom vs. Celeste LeRue
Venom vs. Celeste LeRue
The match begins with Venom going to work immediately on Celeste LeRue, sending a stiff kick to her gut followed by a couple of right hands. Celeste backs off, trying avoid turning this into a brawl when suddenly Venom leaps up in the air and delivers as standing dropkick out of nowhere! LeRue staggers back onto the ropes and as she bounces off of them, Venom, who is lying on the mat, sees his opportunity and rolls her up. One...Two..Kickout! Both are back up quickly and Venom goes to chop LeRue in the chest, but suddenly stops with his hand in front of LeRue's cleavage, not quite sure what to do. Celeste looks down at her breast area and then back up to Venom, whose arm is still outstretched, and Venom simply shrugs and grabs her boob! LeRue looks furious and sends a hard knee to the groin of Venom, who screams in pain as he goes down to the mat while holding his own. The referee warns LeRue who barges past him and stomps away on the head of Venom, not paying attention to the referee in the slightest.
Romero: Celeste doesn't appear to have much time for the rules.
Shining: Not when she has an equalizer such as a low blow which she can utilize!
Celeste helps Venom to his feet and then knees him in the gut, throws his arm over her head and hits him with a nice snap suplex. As Venom lies on the mat this time, Celeste drops down beside him and grabs his head in a sleeper hold. Venom uses his own arms to try and pull the arm of LeRue away from him, but LeRue holds on tight. The referee drops down to check on Venom, who shakes his head before the referee even asks if he would like to quit and begins swinging his elbows wildly behind him, one catching LeRue on the face which forces her to release the hold and get to her feet. She grabs Venom and begins kneeing him in the gut before placing his head in the front facelock position and lifting his legs off of the mat. She positions the elevated legs of Venom on the second rope, his head still in the front facelock position, and Celeste LeRue then taunts the crowd before dropping to the mat with the Hollywood Plant! She covers...One..Two...Venom kicks out!
Romero: It's going to take more than that to keep Venom down.
Shining: I'm not so sure, his head bounced off the mat there.
Celeste gets up and pushes the referee out of the way. The referee is not happy with this and gets in Celeste LeRue's face, giving Venom enough time to get back to his feet. There is quite a bit of distance between the two, but Venom runs at Celeste and delivers a Yakuza Kick which sends her over the top rope and to the floor, but in his attempt to get a lot of wieght behind the shot Venom's momentum causes him to topple over the top rope leg first also and land on top of Celeste LeRue! Both participants are down on the outside and the referee administers the ten count. One...Two...Three...Four...Five...Venom gets to his feet...Six...Seven...He rolls back in to the ring...Eight...Nine...Ten!
Winner via Countout: Venom!
Romero: Hmmm very interesting, looks like Venom wins this one but not by pinfall or submission so Celeste will surely feel hard done by!
*We cut momentarily to the neatly presented Reid office. Sat in his chair as always is our owner, Alex Reid.
Reid: Hey there wrestling fans. Welcome back to the number one promotion around today bar none, VXW. Now just before your main event I thought Id enlighten you all to a few bonus matches of sorts that will also be happening at Rebirth. First of all, to mix things up a little more there will be some tag team action. The Callaways will hereby face the Heavy Hitterz and the Redneck Renegades in a Tornado Tag match.
*He smiles.*
Reid: As if that wasn't enough. We will see Steve Awesome take on Venom in one on one action. However this wont be all. After the show check out VXW.com for an exclusive into one last match that will be made for the show.
*He stands up.*
Reid: Then last, yet certainly not least of all...Well it's come to my attention that Mr. Rob Arnold wants to be recognized as of late. So ok Rob, yeah Ill be glad to "recognize" you at Rebirth if that's what you really want sir, and especially so given the latest circumstances that VXW management happens to be in serious negotiations for signing one Matt Hicks to a long-term contract, something that so far has not been in place unlike the rest of the roster ever since his original debut against Venom a few weeks back. But the point is that until our latest negotiations are finalized he shall no longer be allowed to compete in any VXW ring, and this includes the match he was scheduled to take part in against you this Sunday Rob. SO, more specifically you and what is hereby set to be a mystery opponent of sorts will now face off in a No-DQ match come Sunday, and frankly Rob, on a purely personal note, as you are trying to make this personal here, I hope this man, whoever he may just "happen" to end up being, gives you the beating of a lifetime soon enough.
*Reid winks, and we accordingly fade to our highly anticipated Main Event.*
Once in the center of the ring, he pulls his hood back, before taking off his trenchcoat.*
*As the fans wait in anticipation, "Eye of The Tiger" hits over the PA and the crowd rise to their feet, awaiting the arrival of Doc.
Final of #2 Contender Tournament
(Winner Receives VXW World Title shot at Rebirth)
"Phoenix Child" Chaz Murphy vs. "The Boyhood Dream" Doc
(Winner Receives VXW World Title shot at Rebirth)
"Phoenix Child" Chaz Murphy vs. "The Boyhood Dream" Doc
The bell rings, and the fans burst into a pop of anticipation as this match finally gets underway. After all of the hype going into this tournament, Chaz Murphy and Doc stare across the ring at one another, and Chaz nods as Doc smiles to himself. Doc and Chaz both approach the middle of the ring immediately, locking up. Chaz first corners Doc into the turnbuckle, but Doc quickly powers out, pushing Chaz back to the middle of the ring. Chaz ducks and falls to the ground, delivering a quick arm drag to Doc, whipping him over him and using Doc's strength against him. Both men jump to their feet, but this time it's Chaz who is taken down with an arm drag, as Doc quickly flips him over, and then kicks him in the spine with a stiff kick. Chaz groans, before rolling over, and standing up. Doc however doesn't relent, as he runs forward and begins to hammer Chaz down with right and left hands. He then raises Chaz up to his feet, and knees him in the gut, before whipping him into the ropes. Chaz bounces off the ropes, and Doc attempts a back body drop, but Chaz stops himself, and then kicks Doc right smack in the face. Doc stands up straight, as Chaz leans forward, and tries to clock him across the face with a forearm. Chaz nails one, and then another, before grabbing Doc by the hair and ramming his knee into the Boyhood Dream's face! Doc stumbles back, as Chaz lays into him with a series of side kicks. Chaz grabs Doc, and tries to pull him into a headlock, but Doc quickly shoves Chaz into the ropes, and when Chaz comes back Doc backflips him over him, before stumbling into the ropes to a mix of cheers and boos!
Romero: And it looks like the tide is starting to shift already in this matchup!
Shining: Yep this could be a critical turning point in the contest on Chaz Murphy's behalf.
Chaz turns around and rolls up to his feet, only to have Doc leap at him, knocking him down with a huge forearm. He picks up Chaz, and tries to set him up for a suplex. but instead of lifting up the Phoenix Child, he instead falls victim to an arm drag out of nowhere seemingly by Chaz into an arm bar. Chaz tugs on Doc's arms a few times before leaping to his feet, and patiently waiting for Doc to do the same. When Doc gets to his feet, he looks up just in time to see Chaz running at him. Doc quickly knocks Chaz off his feet with a knife edge chop. Chaz gets up, and Doc quickly leaps into the air, locking his legs around Chaz's neck, and then whipping him back with a hurricanrana! He pulls off the move successfully, sending Chaz sprawling on the ring canvas. Doc rolls over and tries to make the count, only get a 1, 2, kick-out!
Romero: What a close call there for Chaz, that was almost the end altogether for his VXW World Title aspirations!
Shining: That it was, though Doc is certainly well in control of things now so we'll see how the rest of the match evolves from here.
Doc slowly makes his way to a nearby turnbuckle and begins to climb the top rope once back to his feet, trying to get ready to deliver a high flying maneuver. However, while trying to get up there, Chaz falls into the ropes, causing Doc to crotch himself in the process! As the fans cheer, possibly knowing what might come next, Chaz climbs up to the top rope as well, and with a kick to the gut gets ready to deliver a top rope Death's Calling Card to Doc! Doc struggles mightily to get out of the move, but the chances don't look so great right now. Suddenly however, he manages to backflip Chaz over his head, and Chaz Murphy flies directly over Doc's head and onto the ring canvas! Both men fight for a moment to catch their breath, then apparently Doc is the first to his feet, as he senses the end may indeed be near and arrogantly beckons for Chaz to get up. Meanwhile, Chaz does infact get up while Doc just happens to be across the ring Preparing for Wipeout the second consecutive time this evening, and quickly spins around trying desparately to counter that previous maneuver, when he's sure enough blasted right across the face by a massive Genicide Kick that sends him instantly reeling to the mat below! Thereafter Doc immediately slides down on top of him to hook the leg as the ref is quick to get in position and make the count: 1...2....3!
Winner via Pinfall and NEW Number 2 Contender to the VXW World Heavyweight Championship at Rebirth on Sunday: DOC!!!
Shining: And Doc has done it once and for all, this man has TRULY lived up all the hype and and his signature moniker of the Boyhood Dream to become Number 2 Contender to the World Title and MGK's solitary opponent at Rebirth on July 1st!
Romero: *Rolls eyes* Dear god what's the VXW world coming to, but in all seriousness the likes of MGK will be an all new test for Doc come Rebirth, so just because he's defeated Chaz Murphy it by no means infers anything about him being able to look past the greatest threat of all that still awaits him, an incredible threat to say the least in the Undisputed Icon Sunday night!
*As Doc gets to his feet back within the ring, the referee raises his arm in the air, as the fans cheer him on happy with the result of this sheer wrestling clinic put on by he and fellow VXW icon Chaz Murphy this evening! However, before Doc has time to let the win fully sink in, he crumbles to the ground from behind, as a vicious assailant dives into one of his knees from behind, taking his leg out with the weight from his own body and a folded steel chair! The fans begin to go crazy with boos, as MGK stands up, and smirks, before brushing off his shoulders arrogantly. He breathes on his knuckles and then dusts the dirt off his shoulders. He then drops the chair, and slowly waits for Doc to get up to his feet. When Doc is finally able to get up, MGK lays him back down with a superkick, to more boos!*
Romero: Damnit this just isn't right! Doc can't defend himself, after that match he was just in!
Shining: Yeah somebody get the VXW security the hell out here right now before this ridiculous attack goes too far!
*MGK seems to be aware of this, as he cockilly stands over an immoble Doc, and smiles. Suddenly his partner Venom runs down to the ring to help with the assault. MGK tells him what to do and Venom grabs Doc's leg and places his knee on top of the top rope with the front of Doc's leg hanging over the trop. Venom then rolls to the outside where he holds Doc's foot to keep it from moving. Meanwhile, MGK has grabbed a chair and climbed the top turnbuckle, where he looks down at the akward angle of which Doc's knee is resting on top of the top rope and throws the chair towards his knee, then with great athletisism, missle dropkicks the chair straight in to the knee cap of Doc!*
MGK: I still remember how you fucked up my leg the first time around Doc, well things have changed. I mean did you REALLY think I would forget about the damage which I did to your frail leg in the shoot match of ours?
*Doc lies on the mat clutching his knee in sheer agony as the crowd boo wildy, MGK now standing triumphant in the middle of the ring with Venom looking on from the outside. Good night, everybody!*
