Sinclair Godfrey looked over the shoulder of the Scourge as he sat with the tablet, and you could hear the voice of Graves. Then Donzig sniffed, and he turned his masked head before he shoved the tablet at the smirking Baroness. He rose, and he waved a hand absently before he spoke in a hiss.
'Lord, what fools these mortals be.'
Then he glared at the camera.
'I accept. You will teach the XHF to fear? You? No, no, no. They will fear when I leave you in a burned out piece of bloody meat in the City of Lost Angels.'
Donzig shrugged, and then the door to the small room burst open. Black clad security flowed inside, and then Blood walked in the back. He glared around, and then he pointed as he barked.
'You--'
Blood got nothing else out as his security was scattered aside as Donzig shoved through them. His hand wrapped claw like around Blood's throat, and he was slammed hard against the wall. Blood gurgled, shaking his head before he tried to pry Donzig's hand away as his fingers dug into his throat. The security stepped closer, and then froze as the huge forms of Mormo and Moloch stepped before them. The Baroness stepped forward, smiling that pretty yet evil smile of hers as she shrugged. Blood's face reddened, and the reflection of his face was shown red, swollen, and distorted across the metallic mask of Death in High Places.
Donzig spoke in that cold empty voice, the trace of amusement that had been there gone.
'This is all your fucking doing, old man. Your weakness, your lack of vision, your pride did these things! HKW walked into my house, MY HOUSE, and laid their fucking hands on what belongs to me! TO ME! The Bastards? Armand? SPIKE? These people are all mine! Mine! Mine to punish, mine to judge, mine! And because of you we were laid bare, old man!'
Blood tried to wave his security in, and they glanced at the silent ranks of the scowling Donzig-gun. Donzig looked back, and he sniffed from behind his mask.
'Oh, I really wish they would.'
He slammed Blood against the wall again, and loomed closer.
'You didn't reign in the Bastards! You made your deals with Armand! You let the doors open! And now Crane has brought the fucking horde into my Kingdom! YOU did this! But don't worry, Blood. Don't worry. It has been awhile since I fought in an invasion, it has been a long time since I had to save a company from some fucking fool letting another fool take from him. But I was just a man then, a mortal, a flawed creature like you. Now, I am the Conqueror, the Wonder and Terror of this Age, and HKW must contend with my wrath! But I am not doing it for you! I am not doing it for the rest of this roster.'
Blood hissed, and he flailed as Donzig stared at him.
'I am doing it for me. WUK is mine, and no one else's. Now you and your little guards can leave.'
Blood was dropped to the floor, and Donzig stepped back as a hand lifted to drag across the mouth of his mask. Then he lifted a hand, waving it absently as Donzig-gun stepped back in unison from the still panicked looking security. Blood rubbed at his neck, loosening his tie as he slowly pushed himself up the wall before he spat.
'You'll pay for this.'
Donzig shrugged.
'People keep saying that today, but I have already paid with Blood and Hunger.'
Blood seemed confused by that as he scurried for the door, his men filing out behind him. Then a voice spoke from the door unseen.
'Donzig. I think you and I share a problem, a Bastards problem.'
If a mask could look surprised, it would have. Donzig turned slowly, and saw Spike Kane standing in the doorway.
'Lord, what fools these mortals be.'
