Kevin Valentine Jr. did an interview at Oakland’s Channel 18, a small local tv station nearby the arena.
Dirk "Glorious Wolf" van Thijmen: I don’t have a lot to say so look and listen. I was asked to face The Martian. Why? No clue? But he is the kind of talent my wife trains with in the ring. No, I'll face him, she don't need make her hands dirty. Yes he is sneaky taking notes to learn how to do a move! From what I hear you are the new Eugene of Hardkore World, okay man. I'll face you and hope you learn something from it? Sorry I go inside the arena, see you bye.
The tape ended and we saw enough really
Simon Cruise vs. Dana “The Drone” Daniels
The debuting former Hardkore World ring crew Simon Cruise surfed into the company, literally, crowd surfing over the fans with his board. The Donovan trained bee keeper, Dana Daniels raked Simon’s back when it was turned to start off the match. Simon Cruise put a stop to that with a double leg takedown and some punches on the mat. He shot Daniels into the ropes and hit him with an eye popping Bitchin Dropkick. Later in the match, Cruise no sold a shoulder block by Daniels and countered with a spinning spear known as the Barrel Roll. He rolled Daniels up in a La Tapatia mexican surfboard stretch called Cruise Control, and Daniels screamed out his submission.
Randy Candy vs. The Sheik
Randy Candy caught an aggressive Sheik with a Japanese armdrag and somersault headscissors that send The Sheik outside to the floor. Candy tried a cross body off the apron but Sheik ducked and he fell awkwardly to the concrete. The Sheik hopped onto the middle of the second rope and jumped back into a springboard back elbow. Malcolm Xavier Graves handed him a chair, and The Sheik bent the frame over Candy’s head. The Sheik laid a bleeding Candy on a table and then delivered an Arabian facebuster with the chair, putting him through it before turning him over into The Last Crusade camel clutch for the win. After the match, Marty Donovan made an appearance at the top of the ramp with Phil Blauer who, after an intensive journalistic undercover operation, found medical paperwork that said The Sheik is not cleared to wrestle in Portland. On the terrible PA mic where no one could make out much of what he was saying, Marty demanded that The Sheik take a physical, saying that he suspected him of hiding injuries from the exploding barbed wire match in LA with Donzig. The Sheik jumped over the ropes and began chasing the Hardkore World Heavyweight Champion up the rampway and out of the building and into Phil's rented Chevy Saturn. Sheik pounded on the trunk of Donovan's car as Phil sped away
Little Dragon vs. Tyrone The Love Doctor
Tyrone thumbed Little Dragon in the eye, and then twisted his nose. He kicked Little Dragon in the stomach, to which Dragon responded by grabbing his leg and dragon screwing him to the mat into an anklelock. After Tyrone got to the ropes and Richie Richardson forced the break, Little Dragon springboarded off the ropes into a kung fu kick. He climbed to the top rope, waited for Tyrone the Love Doctor to get to his feet, and caught him from behind with his backstabbers called the DSD for the pinfall.
“Boomer Sooner” hits and out walks Kalmin Watts and Anthony Jordan. Once they hit the ring, Jordan gets on the mic and says, due to a legal injunction by Cross Recoba, that the Sooner Squeeze Challenge has been suspended. The crowd booed, but Jordan assures them that he has Susie Valentine-Day, retained legal counsel of HKW, working on the case. Since there won’t be a Sooner Squeeze Challenge, Jordan promised the fans a “Portland Preview”. He promised them that Cross Recoba will submit to the superior submission hold in Portland, OR. He finally mentions to the crowd that he was promised that someone with a “personal grudge” would be facing Watts. The fans cheered thinking it would be Cross. However, Billy Squier’s “Stroke” hits. Jordan’s former assistant, Scorpion, dances his way down the aisle. Scorpion takes the mic and says his grudge is against Jordan, not Watts. He resented his treatment as Jordan’s assistant. He was a peacock who Jordan never let fly. He tells Watts it’s nothing personal, but “like the lucky step-sister caught in the dryer, you’re ffffffff…”. Jordan slaps the mic out of Scorpion’s hand and exits the ring.
Kalmin Watts vs. The Scorpion
In the early match, Scorpion eludes Watts and connects with kicks to the legs and abdomen. Watts eventually catches Scorpion and whips him into the ropes, but Scorpion comes back with a flying headscissors. Scorpion tries for Cornhole as Watts gets up, but Watts stands straight up, forcing Scorpion to do a backflip. Watts levels Scorpion with a clothesline. Watts hits a variety of suplexes before covering for a two count. Watts whips Scorpion into the corner, but he counters with the Fart in the WInd! Scorpion scrambles up to the top and hits a flipping leg drop for a two count. Scorpion tries for Cornhole again, but Watts catches him and stands up. Scorpion tries for a hurricanrana, but Watts blocks. Watts pushes Scorpion back. Scorpion hits the ropes looking for another move, but Watts counters with the Tackle! Watts then locks on the Sooner Squeeze, and Scorpion taps out
Dirk “Glorious Wolf” van Thijmen vs. The Martian
The portly Martian was no match for the muscled van Thijmen who first tied him up with mat holds like headlocks and fireman’s carries. Upon discovering that the Martian seemed to have no training, Dirk van Thijmen quickly smashed his face into the turnbuckle and then took him out with a flying clothesline off the top rope. He tried to lift him up for a bearhug suplex, but at 5’9, 275 pounds, it was not happening, so Glorious Wolf knocked him out with a tornado kick instead.
“The Punisher” Dan Stein came out and announced that he would be starting his own submission challenge for The Final Solution. He called for anyone in the back to see if they could withstand it for 10 seconds, he would give them $10,000. Eventually Dana “The Drone” Daniels walked out to some Oakland cheers who remembered his ex-nephew Greg “The Great” Daniels wrestling there. Dana Drone turned around to take the rings of saturn, but Dan Stein brained him with The Peacemaker staff. Stein pumphandled him up into The Reckoning Sit Out Slam, then walked away laughing.
The Hurricane vs. Cross Recoba
Cross Recoba made an open challenge for anyone to come down and wrestle him when suddenly WWE’s Jim Johnston’s Hurricane music played and The Hurricane made a surprise appearance for Hardkore World, shocking those in attendance. Hurricane caught an equally shocked Cross Recoba with a chokeslam, and then superkicked him upside his head. He caught Recoba in the side of the head with a shining wizard he calls The Shining Black. Hurricane came off the ropes with a thez press, but Recoba caught him and hot shotted his throat on the top rope. Cross gave Hurricane a sitout shirunai called The Sicilian Typewriter for a two count and before Hurricane could get up, Recoba nailed him with a diving european uppercut. Cross Recoba applied Garibaldi's Guillotine and Hurricane quickly tapped out, saddening the fans and especially their children. After the match, Cross Recoba grabbed the terrible PA mic where no one could make out much of what he was saying and said “Kalmin Watts! Match that!” and tossed it down.
Hardkore World Tag Team Title Match
The Anointed (“High Roller” Wesley Crane & “The Punisher” Dan Stein)
vs.
Hard & Steel (James Hard & Dennis Steel)
Hard & Steel started off fast, taking out Wesley Crane with a high low clothesline, and then double slingshotting The Anointed into one another. James Hard came off the top rope with a double ax handle that hit Wesley Crane in the eyes, and then he and Dennis Steel hit him with a double jawbreaker. Crane ducked a flying cross body and then took Dennis Steel out of his boots with a spear. He tagged in Dan Stein who caught an oncoming Steel with a sit-out chokeslam. James Hard came in raging, and Stein gut wrenches him up into a neckbreaker. Dennis Steel walks into a discus clothesline from Stein. Dan Stein then lifted James Hard by the throat with a double handed throat lift while Crane came off the top with his v trigger while Dan dropped him in a tigerbomb for The Annotation and the win.
