The scene opens up at the Draven compound in the Adirondack Mountains, otherwise known as Draven Acres. This time, Wesley is in hunting camo as is his mentor, Timmy Draven. Both men, dressed in their camo, are walking through the snow. Both have a rifle over their shoulder.
Timmy Draven: “Today I give you a life lesson on how to defeat 5 other men. How to take care of 5 other problems. Today you learn about survival of the fittest. Today you learn to hunt your prey.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Good… but is the camo necessary? I mean, this clothing is treacherous… “
Timmy Draven: “Yes, it’s very important. You see, Wesley, any good hunter needs to know how to blend in. Every good hunter needs to know how to attack, and you attack your prey by blending in. In the chamber, you’re going to need to blend into your surroundings. You have no idea when you’re entering the chamber so you need to lay low and know when to strike. None of the flashy stuff that you’re used to.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Flashy? What do you mean, flashy?”
Wesley gives Timmy a wink, signaling that he’s joking around.
As they both walk together, they come upon a clearing in the woods. Timmy looks at Wesley and motions toward a tree.
Timmy Draven: “Here, I want you to go over to that tree stand and get ready. I’m going to go over here to this one and wait it out. We’ve got our headsets on, so we can communicate that way. Deal?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Deal.”
Wesley walks to the tree stand and climbs up it. Once at the top, he looks down at a trail that animals have been using. He loads up his rifle and places it on his lap.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Timmy, you there?”
Timmy Draven: “Yeah, I’m here. What’s up?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “I’m just not sure how hunting will teach me how to win inside an elimination chamber.”
Timmy Draven: “We are going to sit here and be patient… patient until it’s time to shoot our target. In the elimination chamber match you’re going to need to be patient as well. You may be in one of the pods for an uncertain amount of time. You need to remain calm and patient and wait for your shot.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Alright, I’m picking up what you’re putting down-”
Timmy Draven: “Shh, get ready, here comes a 8pt buck.”
Sure enough, walking through the woods, on the trail, is a beautiful white tailed buck. As it makes its way to the clearing, Timmy raises his rifle.
Timmy Draven: (whispering) “Alright, I’m going to let you have this shot. Take your shot.”
BAM. The deer drops right where it’s standing. Wesley throws his right arm up in the air.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “YES! Let’s go get it.”
Timmy Draven: “No, wait. There’s more. We need to wait. Coyotes are coming. An entire pack of them. Looks like 4 all together. Be ready.”
Sure enough, 4 coyotes come out of the woods. They sniff around a little and then without hesitation, they lunge on the dead deer. They begin ripping away at its flesh.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “What are you doing? We should have scared them off before they got to the meat.”
Timmy Draven: “Patience my boy. Get ready. When I count to three, we quickly shoot all four of them. I’ll take two, you take two. You take the two on the right, I’ll take the ones on the left.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Okay.”
Timmy Draven: “1…2…3”
BAM, all four coyotes drop. Timmy starts climbing down the tree stand. Wesley does the same thing. They meet near the bloodied mess of flesh and fur.
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Alright, you gotta explain this one to me.”
Timmy Draven: “It’s simple. Sometimes you need to sacrifice one animal to take out the other threats. Who do you consider your biggest friend in this match? Anyone you think you might be able to work with?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “Not really. Maybe Havok, being that we both hate the Bastards so much.”
Timmy Draven: “Okay, you work with him until you can’t.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “What do you mean?”
Timmy Draven: “Let the others team up on him. Wait for your shot. When they’re all devouring Havok, swoop in and take them out. In The Face after In The Face. Destroy them when they least expect it. Leave their carcasses lying there in a pool of their own blood. Take no prisoners, Wesley. You have to be ruthless inside that chamber. This is different than the TerrorDome. This is 5 other men, trying to take your championship from you. This is an all our warzone and you need to be ready to do whatever it takes. You attack, repeatedly. You never step away to gloat. None of that flashy garbage that you’re so good at. You want to be flashy? Do it at the press conference after your match. Do you understand?”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “I do… and you’re right. It’s time to put on my war gear and go do battle with Goth, Armond, Havok, Rob and Fowler. It’s time to show the WUK faithful just what Wesley Crane can do inside that ring. It’s time to rip their flesh away from their bones. I know some people think my career has been lackluster at best. It’s time to prove the doubters wrong and prove everyone else right. Wesley Crane is preparing for the war of a lifetime. Bring your best, boys, because you’re about to see a side of Wesley Crane that you’ve never seen before. Period.”
Timmy Draven: “I think you’re ready, son.”
“The High Roller” Wesley Crane: “No, I know I’m ready.”
Scene Ends.
