The young man stood just behind the curtain at the top of the ramp eagerly awaiting his WUK debut. Aiden Jacobs was a promising young prospect who had made a bit of a name for himself wrestling on the Indy circuit so he was no stranger to wrestling in front of a crowd. This was different however, this was the big time even if it was just a dark match. He was a bundle of nerves standing their as he watched the crowd funnel into their seats. Aiden couldn't help but notice how much larger the crowd was for this event and thought to himself how amazing it would be hear such a crowd chanting his name as he hoisted the world title high above his head. He may have been getting a bit ahead of himself but this was Aiden's dream and he was going to make the most of his opportunity. Aiden was at the top of his game. He was ready.
A short while later his music hits queuing him to make his way to the ring. The excited youth burst out onto the stage unable to contain his smile. The crowd wasn't here for him and he knew that but it wasn't going to stop him from trying to get them pumped up for his match. Jacobs took his time making his way to the ring giving a high five to anyone with an outreached hand. He was loving every second of this. Ducking through the ropes he couldn't help but think that this was exactly where he belonged.
The referee: First up tonight wrestling out of Chicago Illinois standing 6 feet tall and weighing in at 220lbs "The Prodigy" Aiden Jacobs!
The crowd gave a decent enough pop even though many fans still hadn't made it to their seats and Aiden's smile beamed from ear to ear.The spellbound youth quickly snapped back to reality as his opponents music began to blast throughout the arena. Aiden couldn't help but to wonder about his opponent. He had seen his name when he accepted the match but he had never heard of the man before which he thought was a bit weird. It was almost unheard of to get a chance at the big stage without at least having a short stint on the Indy circuit. "Oh well, I guess I'm about to find out" Aiden thought to himself.
The Referee: And his opponent wrestling out of Moscow Russia, standing 6,11" and weighing in at a massive 345lbs Vladislav Volkov!
"How big did he just say he was?" Jacobs thought to himself thinking that he had to have misheard the official only to have the referees statement confirmed a moment later at the gargantuan Russian walked out onto the ramp flanked to his right side by his gorgeous assistant Anastasia.
Volkov did not seem to share in the same revelry that Aiden had as he made his way to the ring. There was no smile on his face as walked to the ring and he certainly did not interact with any of the fans. In fact from Aiden's point of view it appeared that Volkov barely even noticed that they were there, his sole attention focused on Aiden who stood in the middle of the ring.
There was an intensity in Volkov's eyes that Aiden had never seen before and for the first time since he got the call for his match Aiden felt a bit of fear creep into him. Quickly Shaking it off he watched as Volkov stepped over the top rope and strode across the ring toward him. Looking up into the giants eyes he couldn't help but feel dwarfed by his opponent. This was certainly not going to be easy but if he used his speed to keep his much larger opponent off balance he was sure he could win. He would start fast and never give the big man a chance to use his power. He had his plan and that put him at ease.
That momentary feeling of hope evaporated the second the bell was rung and Volkov shot forward with a speed that Jacobs hadn't thought him capable of. Landing a single heavy strike to the side of his opponents head that sent him staggering backwards into the ropes before slumping down onto the mat. Jacobs had been so caught off guard that he hadn't been able to dodge out of the way and had only managed to get his arm up at the last second to deflect some of the blow. Had it been a direct hit Jacob knew that the match would already have been over.
Never being one to back down from a challenge Jacobs quickly pushed the panic he was now feeling aside and leapt back to his feet pummeling the Russian with a series of blows that would have rocked a lesser man but seemed to be having little effect on this monster that stood before him. Lunging forward Vlad grabbed his opponent in a bone crushing bear hug before sending him careening to the concrete on the outside of the ring.
The hope had all but left Jacobs as the fog faded and he regained a little bit of his composure. His eyes darted around ringside as panicked mind searching for a way out this predicament. Then he saw it. Just behind the Russian beauty sat a steel fold up chair. That's exactly what he needed. Aiden hadn't resorted to using weapons often in his career but he would make an exception in this circumstance. This may have only have been a wrestling match but Aiden couldn't help but feel as if he were fighting for his life against Volkov. With his mind made up Jacobs darted forward as fast as his still wobbly legs would allow. Only Anastasia stood in his way now. He didn't want to hurt her, he wasn't that kind of guy but he was more desperate than he could ever remember having felt and he would do whatever it would take to get to that chair and win this match.
Luckily for him the Russian beauty just moved out of the way almost offering Jacobs the chair. He noticed she seemed to have a small smirk on her face as he grabbed the chair and headed to the ring. He didn't have time to think about that now. He needed to end this fast so he slid into the ring and struck Volkov squarely across the head with all of the strength that he could muster bloodying the giant.
But regardless of the damage he had inflicted Volkov just stood there blood running down his face as his serious expression curled into a smirk that mirrored Anastasias from just moments before.
That was the last thing Aiden could remember before waking up inside the ambulance. He was strapped firmly to the gurney and was unable to move but he could hear the medics and feel the immense pain that wracked his body and couldn't help but wonder how bad the damage was and if he would ever be able to wrestle again.
