PRESENTS
TAP OUT WRESTLING 13: POENA VS McCONALOGUE
Date: Sunday, 28th May 2023
Venue: Lansky Ballroom The Sands Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada
Capacity: 1000
MAIN EVENT
Poena (#2) vs Random McConalogue (#7)
We never thought we'd see a match where both the purists and the sadists would be salivating at the same time but here we are.
Poena put away a spirited Sam Sawyer at our last card and now is nearly within touching distance of Jack Diamond's spot at the top of the rankings table. With one eye still on Jack, has he let Sawyer go after his win? Regardless, he'll be put to the test in this match as his opponent boasts a completely unbeaten record in Tap Out. With nearly nine weeks to plot and machinate between matches, will we see a Poena that is even more devious than before?
Standing in his way is the Scottish Sensation, Random McConalogue. In four matches she's remained unbeaten AND taken wins from two former X*Crown Champions, both of which came out of nowhere, so overlooking her is a potentially fatal mistake. With her Catch-as-catch-can offense carrying her up the ranks, she'll be confident of making her record 5-0 before the night is over. One question mark hangs over her chances in the match though and that's what effect the Rumble will have going into a shortened camp compared to her opponent.
Will Poena convert McConalogue or will Random keep her unblemished record going and maybe complete her hat-trick of flash pinfalls out of nowhere?

CO-MAIN EVENT
The Icons (Jack Diamond (#1) &Jason Long (#3) ( vs Close Collins (#6) / Jackalope (#4)
In a match that unites the Icons for the first time in years, our co-main event pits the seasoned team of Diamond and Long against two wrestlers entering their sophomoric year of wrestling.
Diamond had to rally hard to keep his reign as Tap Out Openweight Champion going againt Tommy Strychnine but his ring-smarts and moral flexibility carried him through, will he need to resort to the same tactics in this match? Like Random, he will be entering the XHF Rumble in April and anyone who has seen his performances in these matches knows the toll and effort that it takes from the Ace of Spades. His partner, Jason Long will be far fresher (on paper at least), avoiding the yearly multi-man chaos to focus on a longer camp alongside his interests outside of Tap Out. Long found himself caught out against Random but we saw what happened when he suffered an upset last time, a winning streak that almost took him to the title.
The man who delivered that upset? None other than Close Collins. Looking to specialize in tag-team wrestling ahead of the XHF Tag-Team belts being defended at the Lansky Ballroom in August, can the ever-improving Nebraskan translate that into victory here? Without his Throw Show partner, he rejoins a partner from Tap Out Wrestling 10, Jackalope. The Chaos Bunny's time in Tap Out has been steady with some flashes of brilliance but if his consistency matches those highlights, the sky is the limit for a wrestler with a deep connection to the Lansky Ballroom audience. Unlucky in his last match, he still managed to get the biggest pop of the match with a death-defying leap from the ring to the outside.
Can The Icons still function at the world-class level they did in their pomp or will Collins and Jackalope find the cohesion and form they lacked last time they teamed?

Sam Sawyer (#5) vs Tommy Strychine (#9)
Closing the first-half of our show is a match between two competitors who came so close to the biggest wins in their Tap Out careers at our last show.
Sawyer ran Poena close, no mean feat in itself, but what they did do was prove they're not afraid to back down from a challenge, especially one from the most deranged man on the Network. Sam, like their opponent, has the benefit of a full extended camp going into this match and we've seen and heard reports that they're becoming more and more of a leader figure within their training camp team which can only be a good thing for their development. This match gives them the opportunity to start pushing for a rematch against the now champion, Jack Diamond. With their direct rivals for position in a match after the break, Sawyer can make up ground in the rankings table with a win here.
Tommy Strychnine was within touching distance of pulling off THE upset of the Tap Out's young history when he came desperately close to beating Jack Diamond last time out. The result might not have gone the way he'd hope but it did go a long way to dispel the theory that Tommy's best days are in the rear view mirror. With an arsenal of moves that keep evolving, Strych has all the tools at his disposal to take the win in this match and rise up the rankings.
It's a V-Trigger versus a Lariat, we won't see both: pick one to win.

SIX-MAN TAG-TEAM MATCH
The Thespian (#12) / Sticky the Clown (#13) / Jacob Craft (UR) vs Kingsley Solomon (#10) / Wildcat Capone (#11)/ Aiden Merric (#8)
Opening up the night is the first six-man tag-team match seen under the Tap Out Wrestling banner since the first-ever match at XHF Supremacy 2022 and though picking a winner is impossible right now, we do know it'll be fast-paced and full of chaos.
The Thespian returned after a prolonged absence and got the win over fellow team-mate Sticky the Clown and his opponent, Merric at our last show. The once feared NLW star delivered a reminder as to why he's so dangerous inside the ring.
Sticky the Clown might be 0-2 but we've seen what happens when he gets his hands on his opponents. With his size and weight, he's not likely to bust out a Poison rana but then, why would he need to? Ask Merric how it felt when he drove his face into the canvas and then stop asking where the sizzle is in his offense.
Jacob Craft makes his debut here and is the unknown quantity of the match. The press release announcing his signing did mention that he's an eight-year accomplished practictioner of BJJ and that in itself makes him one to watch and to be wary of if you share the ring with.
On the other side of the ring, Kingsley Solomon pulled out a submission victory of his own against his team-mate, Wildcat Capone. The Dragon Sleeper / Body Scissors combo being the key to the win makes him an obvious opposite number to Craft.
Capone has faced down police and gangs on more occasions than he or we will ever admit in a legally-binding area. The brawler from Kentucky improves with every match and having seen what he's seen, will a Clown really be what keeps him awake at night or unable to function in the ring?
Rounding out the team is Aiden Merric. With two members of the opposition being on his Bounty Trophy Wishlist, he'll be glad to get another shot at claiming them. The Australian is currently on a two-match losing streak and if you want to put a bet on anything, bet on Merric hitting this match at full bore!
