Hey guys.
I've been struggling with how to word this for a few days now. So excuse me if I either go long or short as I'm just going as I type.
I've run the XHF in some form or another for about 15 years total. And I've been immensely proud of everything we've accomplished under my leadership. Thank you guys for that.
But running things 1. Wasn't my intention when coming back and 2. Takes a wear on a guy. Those of you who've run feds absolutely know what a drain it can be on a person and the thanklessness of the position. Oftentimes when you're at your lowest and need a boost from your roster that's when you get complaints, and when you're feeling really high? That's when you get complaints too, lol.
I've been somewhat mum depending on who I'm talking to but I think a fair few of you know that my living situation has been getting worse. Financially I've been more or less circling the drain for the last few years and it's also taken it's toll on me. You have have noticed I've been a bit more listless or detatched from things. More monosyllabic than normal, etc. Quite honestly the fire and the passion has been getting snuffed by my life and I'm doing my best to just keep things up.
The XHF Network's format was designed specifically so it wouldn't need me at the helm to survive, and it's time to put that to the test. I'M NOT LEAVING- but I am going to step down as owner (and staff). I might even take a short break, but I love fedding and the atmosphere and there's no place I'd rather be online. But I'd like to actually enjoy the fruits of my work a bit and taste it as a member as opposed to the owner.
As of this posting I am stepping down as owner of the XHF Network. Again, I'm not leaving or retiring- I'm just not owning or staffing. It's been a rough few years but I think the waters are calm enough where I don't need to be extra stressed trying to managing things here and I don't think I'm dropping a mess into the administrators hands.
We've been discussing this for weeks, largely because we weren't sure who would be the next owner. Sorry to those of you who want him, but DT doesn't want my job- just straight up he doesn't want to be owner. Dylan was more-or-less groomed for the role but we felt that he still doesn't connect in a positive way with enough of the roster (as the Champoon song says). Scorps threatened to ban everyone and considering he didn't even blink when I had hims shut the discord down a couple years ago I believe it. JJ is still relatively new to our admin team (in terms of time spent anyway) so it didn't seem prudent.
So we opted instead to reach out to a member of the board instead. Somebody who understands what the XHF is, what our vision is, and has a good mind about wrestling too so we don't lose our roots. Steve Awesome has good relations with everyone, was around in the XHF era and has been continually rping for almost 20 years. He's not the most experienced staffer, but he'll learn his way and he's got one of the best admin teams in all of fedding supporting him.
Currently I'm still using this account. We're trying to figure out how to transfer the admin account's power to somebody else while keeping the account stable itself as I've used it for my personal characters. But don't come to me for any administrative stuff because that's not my job anymore. Now I'm going to sit back and enjoy that which I helped build all these years.
Thank you everyone and I'm excited to start this new run with you all as a peer, not your boss. And I'm hopeful to start it BY BEATING YOU IN THE RUMBLE!
Rock on guys, and thank you again. Wish Steve luck in his new position and respect him. He's a good guy.
