Armand von Krauss stands on the upper deck of his airship, the wind whipping through his hair. He lights an Egyptian cigarette, taking a drag and blowing the smoke into the air. He is silent as he watches the landscape rolling by as the airship sails through the sky. Victoria DiScorpio walks out from below deck, a silken robe over a vibrant emerald green nightgown that is technically EVK’s, but Victoria wears it well. She walks up to stand behind Armand and lapses an arm over his back.
Victoria DiScorpio: What is it, my love. You seem distracted. Are you worried about your upcoming match against Otto Ritter? He is a fellow German and thus could be your kryptonite?
Armand hrumphs as he flicks ashes into the wind.
Armand von Krauss: I think you and the world know my roots by now. I was old before Germany set roots in Europe. Otter Ritter is but a speed bump in my path to take down Pyschotic Goth in the finals. Something else is bothering me, yes. It is not something that you would wish to concern yourself with.
Victoria hugs Armand from behind. He is clearly uncomfortable and uncertain with what to do with this display of affection, but he leans into it.
Victoria DiScorpio: Of course I am interested, Armand. I agreed to be with you for your highs and your lows. Everything under the sun.
Armand takes another drag from the cigarette and flicks the cigarette butt over the side of the airship to land god knows where. Hopefully, they don’t have drought conditions down below.
Armand von Krauss: I am troubled by my leadership of the Armand-gun. I don’t think I want to do it anymore.
The smile that Victoria has fades a little and becomes upside down for a moment before it goes back to a fake grin. Since she’s behind Armand, he sees none of this.
Victoria DiScorpio: You have shown the Armand-gun that you can lead. You defeated Donzig and took away from him everything that he holds dear.
Armand von Krauss: Hmm. I have been a leader. I have been a thief. I have been a warrior. I have played more roles than I can name. But do I want to reduce myself and my men to running protection rackets? No. I think leading what was once called the Donzig-gun is beneath me. I am ready to give it back to Donzig. Maybe the Baroness will confess her feelings for him and things will improve.
Victoria looks confused for a moment before she realizes what is being said. She has a look of disgust with the mentioning of the Baroness SInclair Godfrey, but again…she is behind Armand so he cannot see her expression change.
Victoria DiScorpio: Donzig will spurn her feelings and there will be a new war between her and him. Is that something that you want to see?
Armand seems to consider it for a moment, he lights a fresh cigarette takes a long drag, and blows the smoke into the air.
Armand von Krauss: No, I suppose not.
Victoria DiScorpio: Then, I suggest that you crush Otto Ritter and stay the course. Show the world the true power of the Armand-gun!
A crew member comes up from down below, looking concerned. Armand and Victoria turn around to look at him.
Armand von Krauss: What is it, Reginald?
Victoria DiScorpio: Yes, what is it. Be quick about it so I can spend time with my man.
Reginald blinks, unused to both Armand even knowing his name and the venom being spat from Victoria. He gathers himself for a report.
Reginald: One of the Donzig-gun is dead.
Armand von Krauss: Which one?
Reginald: The child molester…
Armand takes another drag from the cigarette and flicks his ashes into the wind.
Armand von Krauss: A pity. I wonder who could have done such a thing? I wonder…did any of the former Donzig-gun dislike this man?
Victoria DiScorpio: The Baroness hated him.
Armand nods with a chuckle.
Armand von Krauss: He has been broken. Perhaps he even has feelings now and is showing them.
Victoria DiScorpio: Perhaps.
Armand von Krauss: Thank you, Reginald. I think we will investigate this death. Tell the helmsman to make course for where this man was found dead.
Reginald: Yes, sir.
Victoria watches the man go back below deck and turns to Armand.
Victoria DiScorpio: Are you sure this is wise, my love? It could distract you from defeating Otto Ritter.
Armand shrugs and flicks his cigarette butt from the side of the ship.
Armand von Krauss: Otto is less than a blip on my radar. Let us see if we can get Donzig arrested for murder…or commend him in the execution of a criminal.
