TAP OUT WRESTLING 15: NOMAD/THESPIAN VS MERRIC/ISHIMORI
Date: Sunday, 23rd July 2023
Venue: The Diamond Club, Las Vegas, Nevada
Capacity: 18000
MAIN EVENT
NOMAD (#7) & The Thespian (#13) vs Aiden Merric (#10) & Raiden Ishimori (UR)
Headlining the show a week before XHF's Night of Champions is a tag-team match where every participant has a point to prove.
NOMAD returned at our last show after months away from Tap Out. We know he was healing his arm after Poena put him out of action at the tail-end of 2022 but since his recovery, what has the Wandering Warrior been doing to keep himself busy? He spoke before of his vision for Tap Out and it most likely didn't include teaming with Thespian. A lot has changed since he was last here, Jack Diamond won the Openweight title tournament that many felt had NOMAD's name on it, the roster looks almost unrecognizable too and while that means they haven't witnessed the chaos and devastation he left in his wake, it also means that he's not just winning over the Tap Out board but the fans in the Diamond Club too.
The Thespian took a break from competing at our last show but that absence has seen him go from the opener for his last match to the main-event in his next! Still riding high after an impressive performance in the XHF Junior Heavyweight Match at the XHF Rumble, Thespian will have lots of onlookers both in the crowd and across the Network. Will he declare himself for Cruiserfest? If so, can he afford to go all-out in a match just one week removed from a chance to take down El Rey at the second time of asking?
Across the ring from them stands two men who are hard-hitting and unforgiving. Aiden waged an absolute war in his victory over Alexander von Blankenship at Tap Out Wrestling 14 and looked like he could be heading back to top form. Merric's always been a threat but can he turn this opportunity into a potential title shot soon? If results work in his favor, a win would see him in sixth place and new Champion or not, Merric would be in a good position to stake his claim. If it's Diamond, he goes against the alliance that showed itself at the last show, if its Poena, he gets a chance to make good on a threat made last Summer.
Raiden Ishimori makes his debut in Tap Out and he might hold the key to his team's success. The Son of Loki and Harbinger member took out El Rey after the XHF Junior Heavyweight Champion retained against Raiden's stable-mate, Kingsley Solomon but now it seems that Kingsley is going to guide Raiden to success in Tap Out in his place. Wherever Raiden goes, he gets results: AWF Prestige Champion, JROK star, and in the conversation for best SCCW wrestler ever. Burning hot for form, he and Daigo took home the 2023 SCCW Saints and Sinners Cup earlier this year. With Merric providing the power, can Raiden's sadistic style of strech and torture take him to success at the other end of the Vegas Strip?
Tommy Strychnine (#9) vs Julius Fristik (UR)
Closing out the first half of our night is a match that's sure to get viewers' hearts racing and keep them on the edge of their seat as two men who can take to the skies as well as they can grapple on the mat meet.
Tommy Strychnine might well the very definition of the 'nearly man' of Tap Out having now come agonisingly close to beating Poena and Jack Diamond only to have it taken away from them at the last but that's almost doing Strych a disservice. Fast-paced striking and innovative aerial offense has formed the basis of a far more successful calendar year for the Rocker than the last. Each time he steps foot in a Tap Out ring he manages to prove why the TOW Management team put faith in him. Will we see the Kiss Me Deadly Knee or the November Ranmaker bring home the victory for the Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Rocker?
Standing in his way is a man who is keen to make a name for himself on the XHF Network. Julius Fristik is a name most familiar for their time spent in Northern Pro Wrestling and for the researchers amongst you, you'll know his father is noneother than JROK star: Jesse Jamester. The son of 'the Murder Lizard' had been in talks with multiple companies when he extended the booking opportunity to Tap Out for this show. It appears Julius has finished up his contract obligations in Japan and states he has been working on learning all styles of the art of wrestling to better round out his skillset. Is this a one-shot deal or the start of a man stepping out of a shadow and into the limelight?
Opener
Wildcat Capone (#12) vs Ashton Henare (#14)
Opening up the show is a match between two fighters who shared a loss in their last outing but now get the chance to prove who was the weakest link.
Wildcat Capone is a Day One Tap Out member, choosing to start his career with the company all the way back at XHF Supremacy 2022. Now halfway through his second year in the business, he boasts an impressive array of moves ranging from powerhouse suplexes to a Rolling Koppu Kick that manages to connect like a sledgehammer and float like a butterfly. With experience ranging from Tap Out to mixed-martial arts in GUNS Fight Club and a more technical-side as show in Jason Long's Infinite Pro Wrestling perhaps what holds him back is that he's yet to develop a style that truly fits him but with each match, it gets closer. Can he take down the bigger man from the Southern Hemisphere?
Henare is a wrestler scouted by the Maori Beast and Tap Out Road Agent, Va'aiga and as such is very much reminiscent of the Maori Warrior. With suplexes, bombs, and spears at his disposal, Ashton Henare is very much a wrestler made for devastation. Caught out by Jacob Craft in his last match, the New Zealander will be keen to show why that was a blip in what could be a very bright career. Will he put those Tap Out wrestlers competing at Overheated and Night of Champions on notice with a win?

CO-MAIN EVENT
Random McConalogue (#8) vs Jacob Craft (#15)
Our Co-Main Event is one for the purists and technical thots as Random McConalogue takes on Jacob Craft in a bout that's unlikely to take to the air nor appeal to the 'Just Bleed' crowd that makes up the J-ROK audience.
Random enters the match with the first blemish on her copybook here in Tap Out. A tag-team loss against the Throw Show saw her getting pinned by Tuff Collins and now the crtiics and fans wait to see how she reacts in her next match. We can't see a funk forming and can only assume that she intends to take on this match with more fervor and focus than any other match she's taken on in her time in Tap Out. A deadly technician, it's been her ability to grab flash pins that has gotten her wins over XHF Hall of Famers like Spike Kane and Jason Long but maybe now is when we'll see how the Infrequent Flyer can tap you out in more ways than the Proclaimers would walk.
Standing in her way is relative Tap Out newcomer, Jacob Craft. With an even record, it would seem he's overmatched but even in his debut loss he managed to stand-out with his submission-based offense. This developed into a win at our last show as he caught the much larger Ashton Henare out and got the win in a bout where he teamed with renowned tag-team specialist, Jason Long. Craft has never been short on confidence but he'll more than fancy his chances against a potentially wounded McConalogue.
