So what is you guys favorite match from the original WCW?
My personal pick will always be DDP vs Goldberg for the World Title at Halloween Havoc.
I recall being in middle school and watching Nitro the night after. There was some issue with the ppv the night before. So it cut off early for everyone paying to see it. I never got to see WCW ppvs live so I didn’t know either way.
So they did something unheard of. They replayed the main event in its entirety! My middle school brain could not process the idea of the entire match being shown for FREE.
And at the time it was one of the greatest matches I had ever seen. The unbeatable Goldberg looked like he might actually lose. DDP was the people’s champion (not in the same sense as the Rock). It was like clash of the titans. I didn’t know who to root for.
I still have fond memories of that night..

Oh man, I don't think I can even remember any WCW matches, lol. It's wild because I actually went to a taping of both Nitro and Thunder together. AND was in the 3rd row. Man what was I even paying attention to?

I think Rey Misterio, Jr. vs Psychosis from Bash at the Beach '96 is my favorite match ever, not just WCW. I kind of wish Misterio/Psic 2 of 3 falls from ECW was my favorite because Psic actually won that one when he almost never got to beat Misterio in the USA, but objectively the BATB match is one of the best matches ever.
Psychosis is actually my single favorite wrestler of all time. He had an awesome mask, awesome moves, and the very first time I ever watched WCW they tricked me into thinking he was a major star by giving him a big entrance with pyro and everything when he beat one of the Villanos in a singles match. Psychosis/Mysterio/Juventud Guererra/Blitzkrieg for the Cruiserweight Title is also in my top 5.
Another one that's possibly my 2nd favorite matches ever is a totally overlooked banger between Lord Steven Regal and The Belfast Bruiser from Uncensored, I think Uncensored '96. When I was trying to figure out how to write submission holds in matches I actually studied that match because I was trying to figure out the difference between what a chinlock resthold and what those guys were doing was.

Great picks. I have seen Rey Misterio Jr. vs Psychosis from Bash at the Beach. Will have to look up the one with Regal and Finlay

Even though the in-ring action was more dedicated to the angle, the crowd reaction to the Bash '96 six-man tag was off the charts - and will always be a personal favourite.
In-ring work... Ultimo Dragon vs. Dean Malenko - Starcade '96 Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero - Havok '97 Flair vs. Vader - Starrcade '93 Jack vs. Vader - Havoc '93
Those are the big ones for me. The greatest WCW match of all time is probably a six or eight man lucha tag (one of the ones with Silver King & Hector Garza no doubt) - sadly the truly great ones tend to blur together.
That said, as a reader of this fed - I really hope that Mantaur can get involved in a monster truck sumo rooftop battle. And if I ever get enough free time to sign up myself, look for some Judy Bagwell action.

Oh man, I don't think I can even remember any WCW matches That explains why you signed up with a primarily WWF entity that only wrestled a single WCW dark match.

Memorial Day (Hector Garza, Juventud Guerrera and Super Calo vs. Cíclope, Damian 666 and La Parka, Nitro, May 25, 1997). Maybe the match you were talking about is this one.

I want to say it was WCW Uncensored. I think it was 96 or 97, Harlem Heat was still a thing and Public Enemy was still there. I love this match not because it was a tornado tag Hardcore match between Harlem Heat and Public Enemy which for 90s WCW was a decent Hardcore match. But there's one spot where the commentary team of Dusty Rhodes, Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan just lose their shit and can't stop laughing and you can tell they are trying to bring ot together but Dusty and his laugh just keeps setting off Heenan and Tony. It's hilarious.

Dusty was the greatest talker ever. I said it. Even Hogan says he was inspired by Dusty.
He was genuinely hilarious.

Benoit vs Sullivan GAB 96. Not only was the match one of the craziest things I ever saw. But Dusty losing it on commentary about the lady in the men’s bathroom still makes me laugh now that I think of it.
On the subject of hilarious commentary during matches. Some other recommendations: Regal vs Jericho Queensbury Rules match. Also Evan Korageous vs Disco Inferno for the Crusierweight Title at Mayhem 1999. Tony Marinara on commentary was one of the funniest things I have ever heard.

I've...never watched any WCW, which may or may be down to me trying to watch wrestling in late 2003 xD
But clips along, as well as playing through parts of it in 2k20, I'd say Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio would be my favourite.
