Thursday, October 5th, 2023 - Detroit Metropolitan Airport - Detroit, MI
The scene opens amidst the bustling chaos of Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Jack Diamond, looking a bit annoyed, strolled through the throngs of travelers with his son, Austin Kade, by his side. They both snacked on a slice of pizza as the echoing intercom announcements and the rhythmic clatter of rolling suitcases formed a chaotic soundtrack that enveloped the packed terminals. The disgruntled look on Jack's face softened as he stopped and looked at his son. His pride was evident in the subtle glint of his eyes. He nudged Austin.
Jack Diamond: You know, I should be sippin' champagne on my jet right now, not standin' in this line for security checks. But I wanted to be there for your SCCW match. You made me proud, Austin. The Diamond legacy continues.
Jack looks around, a sly smile forming in the corner of his mouth.
Jack Diamond: To think, last weekend in Salt Lake City, it was your old man who was strutting his stuff in the ring, moving on in the End of Days tournament. Yet here we are, stuck in this airport like regular folks. I shouldn't have let Jason take the jet.
Austin grinned, clearly appreciative of his father's support.
Austin Kade: Thanks. It meant the world to me that you were there. And don't worry, after you handle business in New York, we'll be back on your jet in no time.
Austin chuckled, giving his dad a nudge in return.
Austin Kade: Besides, it's not every day we get to fly commercial, rub shoulders with the commoners, and share cramped seats, right?
Jack grinned, shaking his head as he held up his slice of pie.
Jack Diamond: That's true. And let's not forget the gourmet airport food we get to sample. Beats catering on the jet any day.
Jack's sarcasm comes through in his tone as it is, but the exaggerated eye roll is enough to make Austin laugh, a look of mischief in his eyes.
Austin Kade: Well, Dad, it's all part of the experience, right? Besides, we can bond with the fans, sign autographs, and maybe even convert a few into Jack Diamond fans.
Austin points to a crowd of people that they are fast approaching. They quickly found themselves surrounded by an eager crowd of wrestling fans; whose faces lit up with excitement, not expecting to run into someone like Jack Diamond in a Detroit airport in the middle of the week. The duo continued to attract attention as they started to sign autographs and pose for pictures with their devoted followers. A young businessman held over a brochure for Jack to sign. Jack smiled when he saw it for Diamond Club Casino Resorts.
Jack Diamond: I hear that's a great place!
The fan beams as Jack signs his brochure. Austin signs a couple autographs and says a few hellos before continuing his conversation with Jack.
Austin Kade: What's the strategy for your match against Dana? We both know how unorthodox he can be in the ring. And... the bees... Wait...
Austin looks around in a brief moment of panic and realization.
Austin Kade: Last year in the run up to End of Days, you had me steal Rat's soiled underwear, shove them in a locker and then... then you made me get into it so that you were prepared for your match with Dylan...
Austin almost crouches like he's hiding from something as he continues looking around.
Austin Kade: You... You're not going to release bees in here and watch me get stung, are you?
A few of the fans within earshot start looking around as well as Jack laughs while signing his name. He smiles at one older woman as he motions at Austin in a "can you believe this kid?" look.
Jack Diamond: No, I'm not going to release any bees. First of all, that was before I even knew you were my son.
Austin squints, not knowing whether to take that as reassurance or as a slight.
Jack Diamond: And secondly, can you imagine how fast I would be put on a No-Fly List if I released a thermos full of bees inside a busy airport?
Jack doesn't break a smile at all as he says this, and Austin can't tell if he's being ribbed or not. He just shrugs. Jack finally breaks a quick smile as he hands a ticket stub back to another traveler.
Jack Diamond: My strategy... is to just do what I do. Nothing more, nothing less. Dana... well, he's actually been impressive. Despite his warped mind, he's put in a lot of work in the gym. I've noticed it. His payment is always on time, even if he tries to use an alias from time to time for some reason. Hell, against Cole, in that title match, he was showing just how much he's learned. He may have even had a chance to pull off an upset if he and Marty hadn't tried that bit under the ring.
Austin smiles, remembering how exciting it was watching the Night of Champions match.
Austin Kade: Yeah, like I said. Unorthodox. So, you're not worried... at all? People like him, his misplaced desire to get you back...
This time Jack has to hold back a laugh.
Jack Diamond: Get me back? I'm getting so tired of hearing that Dana is out to get me. That he is trying to expose me.
A fan looks at Jack with a look of skepticism. Jack is quick to continue, directing his speech towards the fan more so than Austin now.
Jack Diamond: Look, let's think about it. If I was really who Dana believed me to be and had stolen his wife, I would want to get rid of him, right? If I wanted to run off with her, I would do something crazy. Something like... throw him into dangerous and insane matches just so that he is damn near broken in half. It would be within my rights as his boss to assign him to matches against the biggest and baddest wrestlers I can find, all under the excuse of wanting to help him learn this business. Meanwhile I'm laughing behind his back with Jodie...
Austin raises an eyebrow.
Austin Kade: But... you put him in that ladder match. You've made him wrestle Andrej and UC...AND you named him the DTF representative for End of Days, knowing how brutal it can be...
Jack pauses what he is doing and slowly glances at Austin, understanding what his son is implying. The awkward pause is broken as the two of them begin to laugh. Jack reaches for another item from the crowd to sign.
Jack Diamond: For your information, I was trying to do Dana a favor by putting him in that ladder match. There was a million dollars on the line! He earned the right to face off against Cole in that inaugural championship match. The match with Andrej... well, maybe that was a bit of punishment for the Marty thing, and you know what? Sue me.
Jack quickly looks at the young teen who has offered the sleeve of his t-shirt for Jack to sign.
Jack Diamond: I'm not serious, kid. Don't sue me.
He returns his attention to Austin.
Jack Diamond: But look at what he did. I mean, he lost, sure, but he kept getting back up. Andrej would smash him, and the little bee would stand right back up. It was that heart, that never surrender attitude, that made me name him DTF's End of Days rep.
Austin Kade: So... it had nothing to do with putting easier competition in the tournament to give yourself an advantage?
Jack acts shocked at this accusation.
Jack Diamond: Why, I never! Easier Competition?! He is a former number one contender! I can't believe you would...
Austin again raises a brow, a grin on his face. Jack cracks.
Jack Diamond: Fine, yes! Of course, I put him in the tournament so that it was one less person I had to worry about. Was I really going to put BEEF, Cole, or Von Grapple in it? That wouldn't have been the smart thing to do. People like Shankz, Kidd and Henderson would have been eager to make a name for themselves at my expense. Visser? He would have done all he could to aid Rat's kid. No, it was always going to be Dana. I knew that even if he got past the first round, it would only improve my chances. And here we are.
Jack turns to the crowd.
Jack Diamond: Alright folks, we have to catch our connector. I really appreciate you all. Make sure you watch this weekend and please keep supporting us at the Diamond Training Facility. Bye everyone!
With that, Jack and Austin work their way out of the middle of the crowd to head towards their gate.
Jack Diamond: Truth be told, I didn't think he'd have it in him to get a pinfall and move on. I mean, Jesus, Nobody has been doing this for far too long. I would have thought he could have at least prevented Dana from advancing. Now I have to go into this match against a student of mime and absolu-
Jack trails off as his attention was abruptly diverted by a snippet of conversation he overheard. His keen ears caught the faint murmur of a woman's voice on a nearby phone call.
Woman: Are you serious, Cam? He called again? ... What was it this time? ... Schedule a cleaning? But he lives in Palm Springs! ... No, it's not sweet if you're in my shoes! ... Because I was allergic to bees! ... Yeah, some silly wrestling school. I know, I went and watched him in Utah. ... Not bad, actually.
A sense of intrigue washed over Jack. Austin tried to say something to break Jack's trance but was only shooshed for his efforts and without a second thought, Jack decided to follow the trail. Weaving through the hurried crowd, determined to uncover more about this mysterious woman and the information she might possess. However, the labyrinthine airport presented an obstacle, and as he pushed forward, he couldn't help but lose sight of her in the swirling sea of travelers. Austin finally caught up with Jack.
Austin Kade: What the hell was that?
Jack scans the crowd and sighs. He looks at Austin and just shakes his head.
Jack Diamond: I don't know. I think it was her? I... all this time I just assumed she was make-belief but man, I really think that was her.
Austin looks in the same direction as Jack but sees nothing but a blur of people.
Austin Kade: That was who? I didn't see anyone. You just took off!
Jack Diamond: It was... nothing. Hey, can you remind me to make a dentist appointment when we get back to Vegas?
Austin just stares at Jack for a moment trying to figure out what he's going on about.
Austin Kade: Uh, yeah. Dentist appointment. Got it. Right now, though, we need to run to our gate which is in the opposite direction now. Come on or you're going to miss your trip to New York. All of it means nothing if you have to forfeit to Dana.
That was enough to snap Jack out of it as he took off back in the way he had come, with Austin once again playing catch up. As they make it to their gate and begin the boarding process, Jack takes one look back towards the crowd, searching for someone. He clicks his tongue and sighs deeply as he continues to board. The scene fades out.
Jack Diamond: You know, I should be sippin' champagne on my jet right now, not standin' in this line for security checks. But I wanted to be there for your SCCW match. You made me proud, Austin. The Diamond legacy continues.

Saturday, October 7th, 2023 - The Unisphere - Queens, New York
The scene picks back up, zoomed in on a shirt that reads "#1 JACK OFF" and has a cartoon picture of Jack Diamond being swarmed by bees. As the camera zooms out, we see the Icon himself, wearing the t-shirt. Jack is standing in front of a large stainless-steel globe. The camera focuses on him as the large shadow of the Unisphere shades his face.
Jack Diamond: Dana, Dana, Dana... I really wish things could be different. But you've let your mind run wild with conspiracy theories. And why? All because I have a million-dollar smile, does that mean I stole your ex-wife?
Jack smiles big and even in the shadow, his teeth glisten.
Jack Diamond: Wake up. You lost your wife because you picked up a hobby that could kill her. Instead of understanding and asking her for forgiveness, you doubled down on the conspiracies and joined my school, and for what? Were you going to send your bees to attack me? Were you going to spread honey all over my belongings so that I was eat up with ants and other bugs? Who knows. All I do know, is that even in your love-sick stupor, I took you under my wings and have turned you from Marty Donovan's punching bag to... a slightly better punching bag. This Sunday that comes to an end. No Disqualification. If I achieve nothing else in this tournament, I WILL beat some goddamn sense into you.
Jack motions for the camera to zoom in on his face and as he does he stares coldly into the lens.
Jack Diamond: And that goes for everyone left in this tournament. I don't care if you are a former X*Crown Champion. I don't care if you are a two-time X*Crown winner. I don't care if you are like a little brother to me. I don't care if you are a King of Violence, a mastermind of a secret group of assassins, or the God of Extreme. Top Hats and bad movies be damned! All that matters is that Jack Fucking Diamond wins this End of Days tournament so that at the end of the month, I get what I deserve- So that this network and the millions of fans get what they deserve... Jack Diamond versus Cross Recoba. One on One. For The X*Crown Championship.
Jack's stare is getting intense, his breathing heavier as he gets closer to a growl.
Jack Diamond: I am the Alpha. I am Omega. It starts with me and it damn sure ends with me. This match against Dana is mine for the taking. This End of Days tournament is mine for the taking. That XHF X*Crown Championship that my boss currently holds... is mine for the taking!
Jack holds his hands up high in the sky, making a diamond gesture. The camera zooms and angles in a way that allows you to see the globe through the diamond shaped hole in Jack's hands.
Jack Diamond: This entire fucking world... is mine for the taking!
Jack laughs a bit maniacally as the scene fades to a close.
