Hey guys!
For those of you who've noticed that I've not been around as much I probably owe you an explanation.
Some of the folks here know this but the pandemic really killed my career. My main money-generator for each year just STOPPED because it was difficult for in-person classes (I'm a business/language instructor irl) and the program didn't move online. My wife and I have scraped by on me working often just with two clients at a time (tops 5 hours a week if that's any indication) and draining every last reserve amount of money we had and then started going in the hole. I try not to talk about it much because it's a downer and there's literally nothing any of you can do to help so it's not worth burdening you with the sob story.
ANYWAY these financial dire straits have forced me to accept a job where I work 4 days a week in another city entirely from my home. The company is paying for a small (SUPER SMALL) apartment- including bills and now internet and TV (after I pitched enough of a fit). So on the weekends I'm commuting between there and my home. Last week I moved in only to discover that they didn't have any internet, hence me suddenly disappearing. This week was the same until it was finally installed yesterday....and then I got to enjoy about an hour of it before coming home, lol. Between that and moving in and getting our lives organized I've not been able to really help at all with End of Days or be a presence here.
I know I know, real life comes first. But as the owner I feel immensely guilty semi-ghosting things and not giving the admins the support they need during the busiest time of the year. So please accept my apology. I'm hoping that as I get more settled into my apartment there I'll be able to do better and help more. Next week I'll be starting to work 9am-8:30pm some days (with a morning client at 7am some days) so I'm not sure if I'll be able to be fully back yet- but I'll try to adjust quickly.
When I started the Network, part of the reason for the format was for situations like this, and indeed it has proven to be effective. That said I am the owner and with that comes a responsibility that requires I be here more. HOWEVER, along with my apology I'm asking members to step up more as support! A lot of the feds (and even at the global level) like to run shows in-house, but if you can assist like with writing things, please do. Either with your own fed or with End of Days. The last few years I've been able to be an auxiliary writer for a couple matches during the month but I'm pretty sure that's not gonna work this time and I'd rather the global admins not burn out if possible. So if you can help let the bros know!
Huge props to everyone involve in the global matches and End of Days last week. It was a nail-biter getting out relatively on time and a lot of people put in overtime to make sure it happened. Huge applause to all of them.
Again guys, I'm very sorry for my lack of involvement. I hope as I work my tail off to not being in the hole anymore I can also still spend more time with you guys (and actually contribute).
Thanks everyone and I hope you're enjoying and continue to enjoy End of Days! Keep it Xtreme!
