The night sky is full of stars. It is a pure night sky, with no black clouds, and the stars can be clearly seen. The young man stands tall, a black overcoat wrapping him, his hands deep in the overcoat's pockets. He takes drags out of a cigarette, which feebly enlightens his face.
“Each star has its own light…
…There are satellites in the universe too, satellites without their own shine, which steal the light from other stars. And they manage to be relevant anyway. Kalmin Watts, so what are you then? A star with its own light, feeble as it may be, or a lightless satellite that exists and shines merely because of others?
That is the question you need to ask yourself.
And then, if you manage to understand that you have enough light to be your own star, you choose the way you shine. As part of a constellation or as a Lonestar in a community of other stars. Each way has its own benefits and limitations. If you choose to be a Sirius, then the path will be arduous. You will be part of the Canis Major, but you will be on your own anyway.
Each star shines in its own way.
Each fighter has its own path which he must travel.
Do not be a slave to the sympathies of others, Kamin Watts. If your existence depends on being liked by everyone you will fail in the path you have chosen to travel. You say I am liked by everyone and that is because I am talented, but that is not the only reason why, Kalmin. Do you think it was easy for me all the time? No, it wasn’t. I had to choose between Dreams and Family at the tender age of sixteen.
Do you think people liked me when I decided to leave behind loved ones and a secure path in life, to embrace my dreams? No, the answer is no. People criticized me, badmouthed my choices, and left me to rot alone. They turned their backs on me, insulting my dreams. I was not loved all the time, but in the end, people understood and started cheering me on, in the squared circle and life, because they understood that I had the might to follow my own positive dreams.”
Eron Hunter stands there, arms crossed on his chest and stares holes in front of him. He bites the cigarette tail and resumes his speech.
“That is what a man and a fighter must do in life, Kalmin. Choose his path and travel on. If his visions are clear and his might is enough, he will achieve his positive dreams, and then he will gain the sympathies of many and will shut up the many other badmouths too. Because they will see that their poison cannot poison this fighter's heart. Shut up is what they will do and winning is what you will do in the end Kalmin.
You see, I did not win this fight against you and Goth because I am faster, stronger, and more technically gifted than you two. You are a technician specialist and Goth is mightier and maybe tougher than me. The reason I won is because I believe in my Dreams, Kalmin. I won because I have a clear vision, of my life and my dreams, and last but not least a clear vision of the fight in front of me.
You lost because you are limited, Kalmin.
Not only in your fighting style. No. You are limited in your vision. You want to be liked and liked at all costs and that casts shadows in your path, you forget your Dream and burden yourself with what and if about your success and about the way you fight your fights. Do you want to win, Kalmin? Then Dream about winning the Fight, with all your might and your heart, and everything else will follow. People will sense the passion, the heart, and the dream and will start cheering you. And then you will become more than a sidekick, more than a filler for when real champions are not there. Then you will become a Real Champion, belt or no belt.
Just like I am one.
Belt or no Belt, Eron Hunter is a champion in the eyes of the Fans because they know his dreams and they know he pours his heart in every fight. Win or no win, Eron Hunter will be cheered by them because they know and sense his love for this sport and this business. That is why I am a champion all the time Kalmin. Because I love the Fight and Wrestling and I let no shadows of doubts in my heart when it comes to my Dreams.”
The young man digs holes in his overcoat pockets and starts pacing forward.
“This is one of your limits, Kalmin. I took the time to clarify this for you, not because I feel pity for you, no, I clarified this for you because I see potential in you, the potential to become a legend. But to do that you must overcome the hindrances in your path. One of them I spoke about, the other ones are things you must discover yourself. Like the fact that you are limited in the way you fight and in the way, you face the other fighting styles.
But for that, I have no recipe, and even if I had I wouldn’t so easily gift that to you. It is a thing you must discover for yourself. It took me decades of fighting to discover the talents of the squared circle in me, it will take ages for you to perfect your shortcomings and become true legend material.
You have an arduous path in front of you Kalmin Watts.
And it doesn’t end with me, no.
This is actually only the beginning.”
