This past week's season finale of Found wasn't so bad but wasn't too good either. The finale begins with Gayle encountering a client who needs her assistance in finding her son and she and her team get right on the case. What they don't realize is that she plans on revealing the secret she's been keeping all season on. Now her confidant warns her not to but being this is a season finale she ignores him and goes down into the cellar and kills him only to find that Sam's escaped spoiling her moment. So what is her solution to this problem? She assigns the team to attempt to track him down and between the present there are flashbacks of a young Gayle and her teacher Sam, who looks and talks like William Shatner from Star Trek. Meanwhile her confidant is wiping all evidence of Sam's presence from the prison cell in the cellar not realizing she's revealing her secret. When she reveals her secret finally let's just say it's like the promo for the episode about her nightmare just beginning. The team tracks someone who resembles Sam but it turns out not to be Sam. I know it sounds silly which it is. Gayle and the team reunite the mother with her son, but when her secret is revealed her team literally walks out on her and she's alone without allies. Now it could have ended there and left it at that but as it turns out there's one more surprise that could have been placed in the near end of the episode...Yet they saved this surprise for the end where Sam is hiding in the closet of one of her associates ready to exact a little revenge on that individual. Once again the performances of Shamoka Hampton and Mark-Paul Gooselaar were nothing short of excellent but unfortunately the plot and the reveal were wasted by a predictable plot and team reaction. What is going to happen if Found is renewed?
Hopefully the show doesn't blow the opportunity and concentrate on the search for Sam than on subplots. It would be a shame that this show is lost.
