DAMIAN MORDEAU
THE PARADIGM. THE GAIJIN GHOST. THE DEVIL. PRESTIGIOUS. THE PERFECTIONIST. BASIC INFORMATION PIC BASE » Jon Moxley. HEIGHT » Six feet, two inches. WEIGHT » Two hundred and twenty-five pounds. HOMETOWN » Limerick City, County Limerick, Ireland. ALIGNMENT » Anti-Hero. ENTRANCE MUSIC » ‘Nero Forte’ by Slipknot. ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION » The lights inside of the arena come undone, leaving everyone in the darkness of the night, as the fans pull out the flashlights upon their mobile devices and look around the arena. This would continue on for a while, slowly the spotlights beginning to shine and appear to circle around the crowd, but as the song quickly reached it’s crescendo – every light inside of the arena brightened all of a sudden at full power as ‘Nero Forte’ played through the speakers.
That’s when the camera panned down to the stage, to the figure standing at the top of the ramp with their arms extended out wide, and that’s when the camera cuts down to the closest to the area, giving us the full image of Damian Mordeau soaking in the crowd’s mixed reaction. A large smile along his face as slowly dropped the arms and began his timely walk toward the ring. The lights inside of the arena flashing with every drum beat in the background to his music. Mordeau would find his way to the ring and climb the steps, bringing himself along the apron before brushing his feet along the said apron, entering through the middle ropes as his introduction began.
The arms of Damian became outstretched once again as another repeat of the crescendo came through the speakers, the lights flashing like strobe lights down onto the kneeling Mordeau in the middle of the ring, before he finally lifted himself back up to his feet and headed into the corner.
BACKGROUND GIMMICK » In the past seven years of his career, he’s spent his time in the Japanese wrestling scene and became one of the country’s household names. After racking championship upon championship, he felt the sense of moving on and creating something fresh. On the final day of his time in Japan, when he was supposed to show up and fight in his final “bye-bye” match, he disappeared out of thin air. Not a single word spoken about his disappearance, not a single word spoken to anyone, he simply vanished. Three years later, Damian re-emerged out of nowhere. The once in a century gaijin wrestler was back in the fold, finding his way into the United States, and signing on the dotted line for multiple promotions across America. Three years he waited, three years that Damian Mordeau had waited for the perfect place to come back strongly, and all he needed to bring himself back was to become The Perfectionist he should have been all along. BACKSTORY » Damian Mordeau doesn’t look to dwell on his past in Japan, choosing to close out that chapter of his life and looking at the rejuvenated career of his as his true form of life. In the past year, he found himself signing for the new promotion coming around to life called Prestige Championship Wrestling. He would compete there from the inception and onwards. On the very first episode of PCW’s weekly episode, Triumph, Mordeau would make his presence felt immediately. He evoked an attack on Matt Miles right after his match and just before his own in the main event, which he would go on to lose. After the match, Mordeau was announced after the main event to enter the Blind Faith Tag Team Tournament with Matt Miles. The two would enter the tournament with hatred for one another and a sense of tension that could be cut with a knife. However, the two would eventually end up making it all the way to the end at the following pay-per-view, Blind Faith, and capture the Blind Faith Tag Team Tournament Trophy along with it’s cash prize.
The two were set to meet in the main event of Blind Faith to crown an inaugural PCW World Heavyweight Champion but just after winning the tournament final, Mordeau would launch an assault on Matt Miles to gain the upper hand on his now-set opponent for later in the night. Miles would eventually outsmart Mordeau and roll him up for the three count, securing the PCW World Heavyweight Championship and becoming it’s inaugural champion. Mordeau was left with nothing but the broken trophy he used to attack Miles earlier in the night. From there on, Mordeau would struggle to keep himself on his feet, scoring losses in back to back succession. However, this would change in quick succession and he’d found himself back to his winning ways, and in a huge way too. Mordeau would eventually begin his winning streak of matches, which helped in earning his place in the Go For Broke! Match. Having become one of the four briefcase holders that won in that match, it would be found out a week later that Mordeau had won himself the World Heavyweight Championship match at his choosing, any time and any place. Mordeau wasn’t going to play that game, however, and scheduled his match against reigning champion, Matt Miles, for the upcoming pay-per-view.
Popular Demand rolled on through and just as all things seemed to go the way of Damian Mordeau, finally being able to get his hands on Matt Miles after all of those months – the match ended up being scrapped due to an assault on Matt Miles, causing him to vacate the championship and ended up leaving Mordeau without an opponent on that night. He was, fortunately, given the chance to fight for the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Senn. Mordeau would defeat Jacob Senn and ended up winning the PCW World Heavyweight Championship, finally closing out one chapter of his career and reaching heaven, reaching the peak of the mountain where he belonged. ACCOMPLISHMENTS » PCW World Heavyweight Championship (current). 2023 PCW Blind Faith Tag Team Tournament Winner (with Matt Miles). 2023 PCW Go For Broke! Briefcase Holder - World Heavyweight Championship Shot.
WRESTLING INFORMATION WRESTLES LIKE » Prince Devitt. Swerve Strickland. Malakai Black. Sami Zayn. WRESTLING STYLE » No matter how hard you might look at the arsenal of Damian, he’s got an extensive list of striking abilities that are untouchable, a few of those strikes would put your lights out in an instant if he hits you in succession with them. Damian mastered the striking abilities within the years he spent in Japan, learning the technique of Strong Style, which ultimately turned him into a clear ambassador of the King’s Road technique as well. Never shy of hitting his strongest moves throughout the match, but he’s cunning with his attacks, always thinking one step ahead as much as he possibly can. (TL;DR: Striker, Strong Style, King’s Road.)
