Hey all,
I could intro this but it's literally delaying the key message: TAP OUT WRESTLING 21 WILL BE OUR LAST SHOW!
Right, the elephant in the room well and truly addressed, I'd just like to say what a pleasure it has (mostly) been to run Tap Out and have some excellent writers and storytellers on board.
Chief of those is my co-admin, Teeps, who shaped Tap Out in extremely important ways. It was he who suggested the 'Wrestling as a Sport' angle, designed the logo to reflect that, and encouraged us to differentiate ourselves at any point we can to stand-out. Quick humblebrag, it was great to see other feds 'borrow' from us and we took it as the compliment it was.
Alongside which, he'd also be able to approach judging from an entirely different bend to myself and so, in all honesty, a lot of times when we disagreed on a winner after reading - we'd talk it out and then go with that. The fact that I can only really think of one time we had a complaint tells me that the system worked. I couldn't think of another person in the hobby I'd have wanted to even attempt to run a fed with.
For each of you who put a character forward, on the regular or when we had 'guest appearances' (and the truth was, I just hate triple-threatIs so you did me a second favor of balancing the numbers!), I'd like to thank you all for taking part and I hope you had as much, or more, fun writing promos and segments as we did writing matches and compiling the shows.
For those of you who didn't join but read a show or a promo, left us feedback, or even talked us up - thanks to yourselves!
To Mongo...wait, I can't do that and so I'll leave you all to quote El Matador now.
As for the why of all this? Truthfully, my free time has evaporated since January and if I miss deadlines for results then it could be a week before I have the time and the energy concurrently to get back writing. Equally, Teeps has earned a break and the time's just right if we're both not able to do this as well as we want to.
But why Tap Out 21 instead of calling it at Tap Out 20? Come on, dear boy, we're the fed in a Casino - it had to be 21...
