“Time and again…
What is the most difficult fight a fighter must go through?
It is not the fight against an adversary, no.
It is the fight against calm and tranquility. Against the status quo.”
He stands there, apparently serene as if he has always been there as if he never left—Eron Hunter—the man, the myth, the legend of W: UK. He is back, and everyone knows it by now. Leaning against the wall he crosses his arms on his chest and peacefully looks at the concrete.
“There have always been times when I asked myself if it was wise to return. Times in which I thought it would be better to hang my boots on the wall and call it quits. I thought it would be better to enjoy retirement and tranquility many a day.
But then, then something felt wrong. I was there, looking at the cerulean sky, sitting on the divan that stood on my veranda, and enjoying my being without broken bones and bruises, enjoying the quietude that comes from a secure economic status and the fact that I have done it all and seen it all, and then I felt something was amiss.
Where is the adrenaline rush? The thrill of the victory? Where is the cheering of the fans that I so much love? Where is that which I am born to do? Where is wrestling? It was in these moments that I understood who I am and what I was born to be.
A fighter!”
He looks down for some more moments, takes a few calm breaths, and stares directly at the camera afterward. The light in his eyes pierces through the camera lens and hits the hearts of the wrestling fans looking at the screen in front of them. The young man, for young he is, looks serious and determined. He looks as if he was born to do what he is doing right now. His voice sounds calm, but it is fiercely resolute in its meaning and its tone.
“It is not the first time I take some time off. It probably won´t be the last, but there is something I will never do anymore, and that is doubting my love and passion for wrestling. I am not a Psychologist, not a Rocket Scientist, not a Physician. What I am is a Wrestler and that won´t change anytime soon. Be it that I am actively fighting on the squared circle or commenting on a match from the sidelines, I will always and forever be a wrestler, a fighter.
…And that, dear friends, is all I was born to be.”
Silence for some moments. Arms crossed on his chest he leans against the wall behind him and takes a deep breath. The warm air fills his lungs, and he looks and feels serene. His voice gives this vibe to his surroundings. The fans understand the man is back, if he ever left that is. He is back in the squared circle and the world of wrestling, and everyone should take notes.
“I am back in business, back in the sport I so much love, and everyone should take notes. Be it Lord Dominicus, Wesley Crane, Donzig, or my next adversary, Gavin Drake. Everyone and their managers should be aware of the fact that Eron Hunter is here. Everyone who loves a challenge and a great adversary should know by now what that means, it means an awesome fight is about to take place, be it that that fight is scheduled to take place as an opener of the show or if it is planned to be the main event of the evening. The fans know, the head honchos know and Gavin Drake knows that a fight in which Eron Hunter takes part in, is going to be an experience to be remembered.
And If Gavin Drake doesn´t know, I'll clarify one more thing.
That is if he is not prepared
If he even blinks wrongly
If his heart is not in this fight.
He will be nothing more than a casualty.”
The young man grits his teeth, clenches his fists, and looks at his side. Talking time is over for now.
Fade.
