We open up on an empty hallway. Soon XHF top interviewer and AWF mediocre wrestler walks into view. He’s just walking, he’s going to walk right passed the camera, but it follows him and soon we hear a call from behind him.
“Nelly, hold on. I’ve been looking for you.”
Nelly turns to find XHF legend and European Champion Scorpion running towards him with his title dangling at his side in one hand and a laptop griped tightly in the other hand. Nelly looks shocked and exclaims.
“I’m not doing interviews right now Scorps, but we can schedule one for later.”
Scorpion catches up and stands next to Nelly, slightly out of breath and holds his hand up to Nelly to stop him while he finishes catching his breath.
“I’m not here for an interview, I’m here to talk to you about your terrible advice old chap.”
“Advice? Terrible? I’m not sure what you’re talking about.”
“Your advice, don’t you remember?”
“No, clearly I do not.”
“Roll the footage my good man.”
Both Scorpion and Nelly huddle around the laptop Scorpion had in his hand, apparently he was talking to himself when he asked the footage to be rolled.
“Yes, what do you know about your opponent?”
“Nothing.”
“What do you mean nothing?”
“I mean nothing.”
“Nothing?”
“Yeah, absolutely nothing.”
“How do you not know anything?”
“Because he’s a rookie of course.”
“You must’ve scouted him some? He’s had a handful of matches you could watch.”
Nelly steps back from the laptop as Scorpion sets it back to his side.
“You see, terrible advice.”
“No, I don’t see. Studying your opponent is very sound advice.”
“Do you know who I am facing in the next round?”
“Yes, Jackson Steele. He’s the AWF Champion. There should be plenty of recent footage of him for you to study.”
“Oh, there is plenty of footage alright, but none of it is anything I should be studying for wrestling.”
“Huh?”
“Have you ever searched the internet for Jackson Steele Xtreme Hardcore Federation?”
“No, I can’t say that I have.”
“Well you should be glad because what I found is not strawberry fields, nor is it a day in the life of a professional wrestler. It is more like fixing a hole, by plugging it up over and over again.”
“Scorps, I think you’re off the rails again, or searching the wrong thing.”
“No, I looked him up and this is for sure him in the videos. They’re videos like ‘Everybodys got something to hide except me and my monkey.’ Spoiler alert, there are no monkeys in the video.”
“I’m quite confused Scorps.”
“How much do you know about this guy? I found a video entitled “Here comes the sun” but they for some reason misspelled comes and used the wrong term for son and it was about a Jackson Steele and his step-mom.”
“What?”
“Exactly. You told me to study up on this guy and now when he’s standing across the ring from me I won’t know what to do. If I hadn’t listened to you I would’ve been the same man I am 8 days a week and would’ve started a revolution all over Jackson Steele and moved on to the next round, but now I’m afraid to even get in the ring with the guy.”
“Why would you be afraid to get in the ring with him?”
“You want to see what he did to his step-mom? Roll the footage good chap!”
Scorpion pulls the laptop back up, but as soon as Nelly sees what’s on the screen he is disgusted and continues walking the way he came and Scorpion chases after him trying to show him the Jackson Steele footage he found and we fade.
