It’s Venom. He’s standing in the dark holding his own camera on his bearded face with his long and wild hair blowing behind him. The light of the camera is the only light source other than the light of the moon.
“I’ve been called out by Curtis Kanyon. You know, the lesser of the Kanyon brothers. He says I haven’t done anything to get here. He wants to know why I am in the match. He talks about me like he doesn’t know what I can bring to the table.”
Venom laughs softly and shakes his head.
“I know I don’t need to list my accomplishments. I don’t have to tell you that everywhere I’ve went I’ve been in the main event. I don’t need to explain any of that to you. You know why I know I don’t need to tell you any of this, because you wouldn’t be saying it if you didn’t already know. You were there when I made it to the top of the XHF. You made it to the top of NCW after the Young Guns showed up and dominated. You know what I did. I’m in this match because I bring something you couldn’t and Harry doesn’t bring enough of, star power. You’re just talking like this, though, to get a rise out of me, and you know how I know that? Because that’s a trick right out of my book Curtis. That’s what I would do if I were in your situation. I would cut your accomplishments down, make you defensive and make you second guess yourself. It doesn’t work on me, though. I’m the best the world has ever seen so there is no need to second guess myself.”
Venom begins walking still holding the camera on himself causing the camera to be jumpy as he moves.
“Something else you said, though, struck me. When you said you don’t have experience in matches like this. Ones with crazy ridiculous stipulations that could last all night. You said you don’t have the experience, but your dead brother did, and now he’s not here for you. I, though, have that experience too, and because of that I don’t long for advice from your dead brother, but it made me think, what if I could get advice from your dead brother? So I went down and talked to a medium, and I bought this Ouija board.”
Venom stops and moves the camera down to show the Ouija board under his arm.
“Then I ditched my car at the airport long term parking and flew to see your brother in person. Now I’m here fumbling in the dark, live streaming to the XHF Network from my own camera because GXW and the Network were too cheap to send a cameraman with me, trying to find the final resting place of one Chris Kanyon.”
He stops and sets down the Ouija board to pull out his phone and look at it.
“According to the map of the cemetery I downloaded onto my phone, it should be right up here.”
Venom puts the phone back in his pocket and reaches down to put the board back under his arm. He keeps walking, the camera jumping a little more showing that he’s speeding up. He smiles and comes to a stop.
“Here we are, the final resting place of Chris Kanyon.”
Venom turns the camera away from his face to show the headstone of one Chris Kanyon. He then sits down next to the head stone and sets the camera down on the grass approximately six feet away. He sets the Ouija board down and pulls the planchette out of his pocket and sets it on the board.
“I can feel his presence. The hair on the back of my neck is standing up, and it’s gotten colder.”
Venom shivers before reaching out with both hands and placing it atop the planchette.
“Chris, it’s me, your old co-worker Venom. Can you hear me?”
The planchette suddenly starts to move and slowly rolls over to ‘yes.’
“Oh man, he’s here. Chris, can you give me any advice on how to win crazy matches?”
The planchette begins to move again and guides Venom to ‘no.’
“Is that because I’m facing your brother?”
The planchette moves again, and then moves right back to ‘no.’
“Then why can’t you give me any advice on this match?”
The planchette begins moving like crazy.
“B, E, C, A, U, S, E, because, I, H, A, T, E, U. Because I hate you? That’s rude K-Dawg. I thought we were cool. Who else has come to try and talk to you like this? Don’t answer that, I’m sure the answer is no one. Is there anything you want to say to me?”
The planchette comes alive and flies off of the board and a creaky faint voice speaks.
“Whooooooo, betttttttttta, thaaaaaaaaaan, Kaaaaaaaaaaanyooooooooon.”
Venom looks spooked and jumps up, he reaches down and grabs the camera but leaves the Ouija board and begins to run like crazy away.
“The ghost of Kanyon was there?”
He keeps running looking back over his shoulder.
“I didn’t think that was actually gonna work, but if I can get away from a dead Chris Kanyon, a live Curtis is going to be a cake walk. See you at End of Days.”
Venom pulls out his keys and clicks the button to start his rental car and rips the door open and hops in, dropping the camera on the floorboard and we hear him burn out before the screen goes black.
