We open up on Venom. He’s sitting on a bench in front of a sign that reads, do not feed the animals. Because he is a bad guy, he is indeed, feeding the animals. He has a bag of crunched up bread in a bag and he tosses handfuls of it over the wall next to him into an enclosure entitles “lions.”
“Hello XHF. Thank you for joining me for my day at the zoo.”
Venom stands up and tosses the whole bag of bread over into the lion enclosure.
“You might wonder why I would be at the zoo when I should be training for my match this week against Hardcore Harry, Curtis Kanyon and a pig. In response to that I say, why not? It’s not like Harry is doing anything but arguing with himself. It’s not like Curtis is doing anything but drinking himself stupider and then being cared for by his wife. It’s not like the pig isn’t a pig. So why should I spend all of my time training? Don’t get me wrong, I am in training. I’m working my ass off. But why should I not enjoy myself?”
Venom begins walking, leaving the lion enclosure as a zoo keeper comes running up and looks over into the enclosure with a shocked look on his face as birds are flying into the enclosure and roars of the lions can be heard.
“But I’m not just here for fun, I’m her recruiting and studying. You see, I’m facing an animal this weekend, and Kanyon, and a pig. So I’m not just here to enjoy the sights of animals locked in cages, but I’m studying how these animals act and react to adversity and maybe, maybe I’ll find one that can help me do what no one else has been able to do, knock off a pig from the top of the mountain.”
The roars of the lions fade as we get further away from the enclosure and walk passed the tiger enclosure.
“You see, to beat an animal, you’ve got to be an animal, and while I’ve been known in the past to go to a dark place to get done what needs to be done I don’t think even I could get that primal to defeat an actual animal without some help. So I thought back into my past, and remembered that I too have had an animal on my side at one point in my career. Unfortunately that animal is long gone and has left this earth.”
He reaches up while walking and wipes an invisible tear from his face.
“While Goldbear might be long gone, though, he lives on in our hearts and memories… and now, in the same way Thob continues to take on new forms, in a new form.”
Venom stops in front of the bear enclosure. He turns to the cage and begins waiving for something to come out of the shadows of the back of the enclosure, and slowly a creature walks foreword.
“Raaaaaaawr!”
“I’d like to introduce you all to my secret weapon to defeat the animal, Gooooooooooooooooldbear.”
Venom smiles as Goldbear II stands over his shoulder inside the bared enclosure.
“Raaaaaaaaawr.”
“This is my equalizer, and he is happy to be joining me and my partner on the road, just as soon as we get him out of here. Luckily, the zoo keepers seem to be preoccupied with a bird genocide in the lion enclosure. Come on Goldy, it’s time to set you free.”
Venom walks towards the end of the enclosure off camera and Goldber II follows him off camera inside the enclosure as well.
