Welcome to the XHF Network
This is the … Shhhhhhhh
“You’ve done this to yourself Duke. You’ve brought this on. It was just going to be a competition to see who was better. To see who found the best group of workers to start their company. It was going to be an entertaining show of two upstarts on the Network, but you had to go and make it personal.”
We open up in the locker room area. Sitting on a bench with ear buds in his ears sits the Messiah of Hardcore Price in all of his reborn glory. He’s slowly nodding his head cooling down after an intense workout. He’s alone, until the XHF legend Scorpion walks in and stands behind him.
“Listen Price. I know you’ve always been kind of a lone wolf. You have people you trust, but you’re not really a team player. I know how that is. People let you down. I also know you don’t like at least one member of the team and want the title that another member holds. I know all this, but I’m pleading to you to put all of that aside. I’m pleading to you to focus your rage and anger elsewhere. You don’t have to trust me. You don’t have to trust Rob. You don’t have to trust Storm Crow. You just have to work with us. You just have to be a team player for one match. One match to show those Russian thugs that we are the best show on the Network. To show them that their tactics aren’t going to stop us. To show them what the XHF was and is all about. I hope I’m getting through to you. I hope you’re hearing me. Because we need you Price. This will be hardcore, and we need our Messiah.”
Scorpion walks away, exiting the locker room and when the door closes Price looks around before pulling out his earbuds.
“Did I miss something?”
He then stands up and tosses the ear buds in his bag.
“Time to get back to the hotel.”
He grabs his bag and leaves.
“You may think Duke, that your company is untouchable. You’ve filled it with thugs who are willing to do unthinkable things to get noticed. You’ve filled it with people who are willing to kidnap and maim a person just to get the television time they want. You’ve filled it with these people and then put them in my way in an attempt to stop me at making V’s vision a bigger success than yours. That’s where you made your mistake Duke. That’s where you messed up. Before all of that, I was just here for the praise. I was just here to get one last round of glory before heading off into the sunset. I was just here for my final moment, but now that’s all changed. Now I’m here to destroy.”
Rob Arnold is sitting in a coffee shop. He’s alone in a booth away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic in the shop. He’s on his laptop still getting his orders in affair after his return to the U.K. He’s alone, like he likes to be, until Scorpion sits across from him. Rob looks annoyed but shuts his laptop and looks his former friend in the eyes.
“Look, I know you don’t want to see me here.”
“You’re right, I don’t. I’m here for one reason, to be alone. You being here ruins that.”
“I know, but I need you to understand, you may not like me anymore but you need me and I need you.”
Rob lets out a soft laugh.
“Need you? For what? Those Russian morons? I will have no problem with them.”
“Just like you had no problem with Storm Crow.”
Rob slams his fist on the table, the whole shop goes quiet for a second, but then continues when nothing happens. Rob composes himself.
“Look, if you came here to insult me about losing the chance at regaining the title you stole from me all those years ago, then leave.”
“That’s not why I’m here. I’m here because I need you, but you only seem to respond to insults. I cannot do this without you. I cannot take down these Russian’s without your help. I know we have our issues.”
“Yeah, we do, and if you don’t get to the point of why you’re here I’m going to solve our issues right here and right now.”
“Calm down. I know we have our issues. I know you have issues with Price. I know you want the title back. All of that, though, needs to take a back seat for one night. Just one night. I just need you to focus. Not on your anger towards me or Price. Not towards getting back the title. But to Focus on winning this match and proving that you picked the right company to represent when you came back from where ever it was you were hiding. I need you to focus on glory. Can you do that?”
Rob nods and Scorpion reaches out his hand to shake. Rob may be ready to focus on the match, but he’s not ready to shake Scorpion’s hand and he leaves him hanging. Scorpion then walks away as Rob opens his laptop back up and continues his work alone.
“You have probably under estimated me. You’ve probably looked at my recent history and seen that I haven’t been very successful. You’ve seen me lose to Thob and Steele of the AWF and think I am just an old has been. What you fail to see is what I was. You failed to see the man who walked into the XHF after bouncing around the indies to little fanfare and immediately making an impact. You fail to see the career I carved through bloodshed and tears, injuries and defeats. You fail to see what I did when faced with adversary. You just see the old man, but you woke up something in me, something I thought was long gone.”
We open up on Sung-Hyun Lee. He’s doing stuff, but Scorpion doesn’t know him so he doesn’t come to see him, so instead we see StormCrow. He’s sitting on a park bench with a bottle in his hand wrapped in a paper bag. He’s mumbling to himself. Scorpion sits next to him.
“I want to clean you up. I want to get you back to the star you once were. I want to fix you like Rob Arnold once fixed me.”
Crow mumbles incoherently back.
“I want you to be normal, but I’ve learned a long time ago that what others think is normal doesn’t always work for everyone. And from the looks of the gold you won, normal doesn’t seem to be what you need. So instead I’m only going to ask you to show up and be ready. This team may not need a leader like you, but they do need a warrior like you. So show up, and be ready to fight, please.”
Scorpion gets up and leaves as Crow swigs from his bottle.
“It’s been nearly 15 years since my long battle with Reeshi ended with my hand raised at Night of Champions. 15 years since I last felt like the best in the world and that no one could touch me. 15 years since the night I officially lost my killer instinct. You, though, brought it all back Duke. When you held that flame to my face threatening me with fire, you did start one. Not the one you or your cronies think, though. You started a fire inside of me. You relit that flame that burned in me that led me to title after title, destroying my fellow man and winning at all costs. You lit the flame that made me an XHF legend, and now, at Xtraction, your cronies will be punished for your mistake. You’ve done it Duke, you’ve brought the fire and now I’ll bring the destruction.”
This is the … Shhhhhhhh
