EWE is a new e-federation part of the e-wrestling XHF Network.
The company is based in Portugal after an investment of local businessman given the lack of wrestling companies in the area. The announcement of the company's opening was made in Portimão at the Portimão Arena in an award ceremony to reward the sports athletes of the city.
The company has almost everything set up to start running but there aren't any wrestlers contracted and they might be announced on their website in the future days. But the location for the first live event is confirmed as Benevides stated in his speech at Portimão Arena.
The local businessman who invested in the company decided to remain anonymous and that is creating some gossips around the industry that we won't really cover until there is an actual fact about it. In order to keep his anonymity he appointed a local creative writer named Pedro Benevides to assume the role of owner\creative leader. It's quite a peculiar choice given Pedro Benevides already sunk a Portuguese federation in the past and that might give some sort of slow start to EWE but he's by far the most talented for the job. After 5 years of hiatus he returns to the wrestling world with the promise of "delivering the best wrestling and entertainment content in the whole world."
Pedro Benevides is quite known for his peculiar personality, he often confronts people and makes them silly questions in order to lead them to an answer like a salesman, he is kind of an evil genius, however he can sound very enthusiastic when he gets the spot to speak about his wrestling shows. Benevides also told in the award ceremony that EWE wants to deliver weekly live events across all Portugal and a SuperCard every month, "we might get a TV deal!". This is also good cause Portuguese where used to a couple events per year.
Also in the award ceremony that happened in Portimão, Benevides spoke about the product of the company: the title suggests everything "Elite" cause only the "Elite" will compete here! "Warzone" because there are going to be a lot of wars! "Entertainment" because that's what brings people to the cinema, to the theatre, just like in a wrestling show. I've been scouting for the best talents all over the world to bring you the best of the best on their wrestling styles. You can see a bit of everything on our show not just a Giant beating all the other members of the roster. Here there will be a sense of competition and the fans can't predict who really can win a match before it happens.
The reaction from the crowd was minimal certainly wasn't like 7 years ago every time Wrestling came into the city but the younger ones loved the idea. Which could be a problem in the USA cause of the risky product and storylines Benevides likes to present, but in Portugal, kids know even more bad words than their elders. And life itself it's quite risky as well so they're used to it, not a problem at all!
But will it prevail? Will Benevides sink another company on his notorious career? Maybe things are different now, Benevides is older and he really wants to present another product.
