Combat is in essence a hybrid fed. While matches will mostly be judged on roleplay versus roleplay, there are times when angles and storyline might depict certain outcomes and finishes. In instance like this everyone concerned in the match (and staff) will be notified and an agreed ending/angle/finish planned. The following are some simple rules that we request you follow. Combat has a three strike rule, three strikes and you're out.
ROLEPLAY LIMIT
Combat will operate on a one roleplay per match limit. This goes for Friday Night Fury matches, and for PPV matches. If you happen to run a tag team (two characters, one handler) you can opt to do one roleplay for the team, or one roleplay per character.
If everyone in the match agrees (and staff are informed) and agreement can be made between handlers to have more than one roleplay for their match.
ROLEPLAY JUDGING
To begin with there will be one single judge for Combat, myself. That means I will be the one who picks who wins, and the buck stops there. I've learned from the past that this responsibility often helps in places, and dismisses wild conspiracy theories immediately. I will always be available to discuss match outcomes, and reasons for them. However, I will not tolerate bitching, insults towards others, or abuse. The more you stick to your character and play your gimmick, the likelier you are to succeed.
ABUSE
This brings me to my next point. Abuse, in any way, shape, or form, will not be tolerated here. People come to efeds to enjoy themselves, not be cyber bullied or targeted for their thoughts, opinions, or writing skill. If I hear of any kind of abuse, or am shown any kind, those people will be kicked out. This also includes taking OOC shots in roleplays.
CHARACTER LIMIT
Unless given permission from staff, the character limit for roster members is three. A tag team would count as one, so you could have a male roster member, a female roster member, and a tag team. You could even have three tag teams if you like. This is to try and prevent burnout, and no shows.
DEADLINES
The deadline for ALL roleplays, be they on Fury, or be they PPV will always be the Thursday before hand at MIDNIGHT GMT. This is simply because it is my timezone, and I need the time to read everything, and put the show together.
DAUNTLESS DIVISION
The Dauntless title and any match contested under it's rules will have a strict word limit of 1,000 words. This is to try and focus people on their trash talk and developing their characters personality. Any match, within reason, can be requested to be under these rules but every championship match or number one contenders match for the Dauntless Title will be under these rules.
All over match types do not have a word limit, but please remember we will be reading everything and a 7,000 word roleplay could become boring pretty quickly. Quality over quantity people.
OTHER EFEDS
As Combat is run by a character with a longevity and a part of his personal canon the only feds accepted as "big names" etc are XHF, nCw, IWF, and those ran on the XHF Network. Anything else will be considered the "indys" or "wrestled around the world" as WWE would say. This doesn't mean that big names from other feds won't be treated as such, but it prevents things such as a multi time world champion opening a show.
NO SHOWS
Failure to show for your match will result in an automatic loss. Even if the match is angled, the ending will reflect the lack of effort. Three no shows in a row and you will be removed from booking.
Gentleman’s Agreements
ROLEPLAYER ETIQUETTE
For all intents and purposes everything you write is televised on the XHF Network. Being an "on demand" service, means you can push the boundaries. Be that supernatural elements, high profile appearances, or even something more "Big Brother" this means that the things you say and do, CAN be used by other people in their roleplays. That being said, try to keep things at least a tad within the realm of realism. Magic, demons, etc? All fine. Just don't perform things you'd actually be arrested for, absolutely no murder, and no drugs.
However, the "replying" format of roleplays is viewed pretty dimly. We don't appreciate people who simple counterpoint everything someone else has said. Find a way to be more creative with it, and I'm sure you'll do fine.
As a note, Combat does not have in ring roleplays. As the company is a smaller one they do not run house shows, so all in ring segments should be sent in to be part of the shows.
TIME OFF/LEAVING
It's no secret in this game - REAL LIFE COMES FIRST - we've all had times where we've had to drop things, or perhaps step away for a few months. In no way will you be treated badly if you need to take time off. All we ask is some kind of notification. Keep us in the loop, let us know what is going on, but most of all, let us know if you're struggling.
The doors will always be open.
Note: These rules may change over time.
