Welcome to the XHF Network

Fade in to Nelly Angel, who is stood armed with a microphone.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we are days away from the XHF Network Pay Per View, Supremacy. A night where multiple titles are being defended from all across our Network affiliated shows, however our main event of the evening will see the X*Crown being defended, as Curtis Kanyon will defend against multiple men, women and even a bear in a Throne of Blood match. Speaking of which, my guest at this time is one of the men hoping to capture the championship this Sunday, Rob Arnold.”
Rob walks into the shot from the right, a smirk worn firmly across his face. Suited up, he adjusts his jacket and pats Nelly on the shoulder.
“Nelly Angel, as always I thank you for inviting me. However I’m going to have to disrupt the social convention by starting off by asking you a question.”
“Uh, sure, okay?” Nelly pulls his head back slightly in confusion, but let’s Rob run with it.
“Can you feel the excitement Nelly? It’s been all over this hallowed building and we’re still days away! Talent from all over the globe has began to descend on the XHF Arena and there’s a hum of excitement from almost everybody. Can you feel that, Nelly?”
“I can, Rob.” Nelly nods in agreement.
“And as you know full well we tour around quite a bit Nelly, and one question I’m often asked is why get to the city we’re due to be in so early. Why not go spend time elsewhere, be isolated and train? I’ll tell you why, because you get to soak in atmosphere like the this, you get to feed off others’ excitement. You also see every man and woman in the building showing a very special emotion, belief.
You see, belief is a powerful tool, it can drive people to do incredible things, sometimes these things are outside of the realms of what that person previously thought possible. I get to look into the eyes of all these people, and I get to bask in the knowledge that for them it’s all for nothing.”
Arnold smirks again.
“You can have all the belief in the world, but when you’re like me, when you have the raw talent and ability, its simply does not matter. So I come to these arenas to watch the belief grow, let it reach it’s peak, just so I can take it all away.”
“Oh.” Nelly’s face drops, the realisation that once again Rob Arnold being excited is because he gets to be an asshole.
“Hey now, don’t get down Nelly, I’m not here to take your belief away, it’s not like you’re wrestling for the X*Crown, or even on the card at all.” Arnold condescendingly remarks.
“Well I could have been.”
“I...I'm Sorry? What do you mean by that?” Is Rob’s confused reply.
“Well I was in the AWF Battle Royale to have a shot in the X*Crown match, but Michael Storm edged me out.”
Arnold looks blankly at Nelly for a moment, before putting a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“Nelly, I’m going to put my confusion about how you could allow Storm to beat you aside for a minute. Instead, focus on the fact that you’re now able to focus on doing things like this, something that quite frankly you’re at the top of your game at. I mean, there’s no better man to ask me questions than you.” Rob smiles warmly, clearly not caring how offensive he’s probably being.
“Right...”
“So chin up, and let’s get back to being excited about this Sunday!” Arnold slaps Nelly on the back.
“Yeah...sure.” Nelly frowns, clearly offended, but decides to just keep going. “So building on this excitement that you mention, how are you taking that into your match this Sunday?”
“Woah woah woah! What’s going on here?” Comes a voice from off camera, causing Rob and Nelly to both turn to the left. BB Gunn appears, also with a microphone in hand, his expression less than impressed.
“I got this Nelly.” Arnold turns from Nelly to Gunn. “Gunn, what are you doing here?”
“Don’t you act all sweet and innocent Arnold, you were booked in to be interviewed by me, not this guy!” Gunn points accusingly at both of them.
“Sorry, this guy? Who actually are you?” Nelly appears to take exception, causing Arnold to turn back to him and place a hand on his chest.
“I’ve got this Nelly, don’t worry, trust me.” He reassures the aggravated interviewer and turns back. “Gunn, how can I put this gently? Actually I probably can’t, so let’s just be out with it. Gunn, when it comes to the concept of being interviewed, I see it as like picking a car to drive. Now you, you’re a Fiat Punto, you’re reliable, a bit quirky, and you’ll get the job done despite your complete lack of power. However Nelly here, he’s like an Aston Martin, he’s effortless, he’s convincing, and well worth the money.”
Nelly looks rather smug at this point, Gunn looks rather confused and upset.
“So what I’m saying is you’re a good lad, but given the option, I’m taking Nelly here.” He puts his hand on Nelly’s shoulder again.
“Well I’ve been told that I'm doing this interview by AXW Management damnit, and I’m staying and doing it.” Gunn stands firm, Rob just sighs.
“Look, I’m in a good mood, plus I’m equally as concerned that you’ll go crying to that random ass American Pete guy that’s suddenly turned up and he’ll make me throw midgets or something that I’m just way above to even consider. So I’ll tell you what, you can stand there, and you can be apart of this interview, but you’re not interviewing me, Nelly is.”
“But...”
“No buts, Gunn. I’m making you a fair deal, don’t piss me off, you’ve seen what happens when I’m pissed off closer than most as of late.”
Gunn stands there for a moment and considers his position momentarily, before looking down at the ground, dejected.
“Fine.”
“Good lad.” Arnold smiles and turns back to Nelly, who seems to be quite enjoying this. “Sorry Nelly, as you were.”
“So how are you going to approach a Throne of Blood match?”
“Yeah, how are you going to approach it?”
Arnold turns, glaring at BB Gunn, Nelly leans around Arnold to also glare.
“Gunn, come on now, don’t be that guy, nobody like that guy. Not even I’m that guy.”
Gunn looks back at the floor, scolded, and Arnold then turns back to Nelly.
“To be honest Nelly, ironically the answer to that can be told by the Fiat Punto here. You see he asked me after Xtraction: Firewall what the hell I was thinking, and I told him something, I told him that I was going to be systematic, I was going to stop swinging for everybody, and instead I was going to take out my opponents one way, can you remember BB?”
He turns to Gunn who has barely stopped looking at the floor.
“I’m actually allowing you to talk....Go on!”
Gunn looks up slowly.
“Piece by piece.”
“Piece by piece! Exactly!” Arnold chuckles and turns back to Nelly. “This will be no other exception, I’ve done my homework on each of these opponents, I’ve already been setting the traps for one or two of them. When the dusts settles on Supremacy, I’m going to have left behind blood, broken bones, and most importantly, I’ll be taking those titles away with me.”
“The rumours have been running rife that you met with James Mueller and Venom, The GUNS recently, what happened, are you and Goldbear II on the same page?”
Arnold straightens up.
“I met with them yes, it was more of an off chance meeting, but it was productive, I have a lot of time for both Venom and James Mueller, like me they do things their way, and to hell with everybody else. As for Goldbear II, I got the chance to look at him up close, and I’ll say that he’s one charming, yet completely frightening bear. I’ve had the time to reflect since meeting him, and frankly Nelly, nobody is on his page other than the GUNS.”
“So how are you going to deal with him?” Nelly presses.
“I have a few ideas...but Nelly that would be telling.” Arnold teases.
“You still don’t know, do you!” Mumbles Gunn. Arnold turns sharply.
“Think what you like Gunn, be like the rest of them who don’t believe in me, and when I prove you wrong I expect you to come and grovel at my feet because AXW will have a champion that isn't a drunk or a complete mad man.” He turns back once more to Nelly and nods for him to continue.
“Given that you've had chances at the X*Crown before, is it fair to say that this is a bit of unfinished business for you?”
“You could say that, I have indeed had shots at the X*Crown before, that’s a fact I can’t deny, but both are shots that can be looked at with massive asterisks against. One led to the creation of the real Brotherhood, the British Brotherhood...”
“British Brotherhood? C’mon...”
“Last chance Gunn or I put you on your ass.” Arnold doesn’t even turn this time, he keeps in his stride. “The second time I instead walked away with the XHF World Title, so you could argue that night was an even bigger success. Now however, so many years on I have the opportunity to claim the X*Crown, no excuses, no agendas, I want that title. Not just to be the best, believe me whilst I know I am the best and prove it so damn often, I want that title for the good of the XHF Network.
You see, since the return of the X*Crown, the Network has been subjected to a absolute mess of champions. Hardcore Harry, whilst I don’t begrudge the man of his accomplishments, he was no champion, he was a mess in every single sense of the word. He was such a mess that he was defeated by a pig, a freaking pig Nelly. I can’t begin to tell you just how disturbed it makes me to think that this fine establishment was represented by livestock. Then, from a pig, to Curtis Kanyon, no way near as of a mess as Harry, but without doubt even more insane. These are not people fit of being at the top of the XHF tree, not even remotely close.
This Sunday I change all that, I bring back the class that the X*Crown should represent, I bring back the sanity within the XHF. This Sunday Nelly, I will give the XHF the champion it needs, deserves, and respects. You know why? Because I’m Rob Fucking Arnold, and that’s what I do.”
Arnold smirks once more, and walks away. Gunn looks at Nelly, who once again looks quite smug.
“I’m an Aston Martin.”
Fade out.
