The camera shows a dimly lit bar. It pans through the cigarette smoke and across the bar. There is a guy who does not belong there, dressed as a prototypical hipster holding two appletinis and looking for a woman who left. Next to him is an old timer with a very homeless look about him. He slams his glass down on the bar after apparently losing at video poker. A bar hag is trying to pick up on a younger man who is crying into his beer. Behind the bar, a 40ish year old man, trying way to hard to look 25 spits into a glass and rubs it dry with his hand towel.
The camera continues to move over to a pool table, next to the jukebox on the wall. Leaning over the table and about to break the balls is Bruce McClain. He hammers the cue ball into the triangular ball formation, sending the balls everywhere, and pocketing three of them. He chalks his stick and lines up his next shot. After making it, he repeats the process with the same result. He leans over for his next show and spots the camera. He smiles and raises up, grabbing the chalk. As he applies the chalk to the end of his stick, he speaks into the camera.
Oh hey! Didn’t see ya there. I’m Bruce McClain. I guess you all want to hear about my match at Supremacy?
Without looking McClain uses the rail of the table to keep his stick straight. With force, his stick slams the cue ball, which bounds off the four and puts the ball into the side pocket.
I have some truly tough customers ahead of me. My cousin Steve, his tag partner will be one of the people I will face. Dylan Black is a tough customer, and I will not be taking him lightly. Excuse me.
McClain turns around and hits a difficult combo, sinking the five and seven into the corner pocket and side pocket respectively.
As for Lethe, she is going to force me into something I have never done before. I have never struck a woman. It is against everything I was born and raised on. However, Miss Lethe is no ordinary dame. I will not go easy on her, but I will not harm her if I can help it. I am a gentleman, and gentlemen don’t hit women, no matter what.
McClain walks around the table. He leans down, and the camera falls down a tad to line up behind his shot. McClain winks at the camera before setting his shot. The eight ball glides true and falls into a corner pocket. McClain puts his stick on the table, and shakes the hands of the guys he was playing. He walks back around the table to address the camera once more.
Now look, I cannot promise a win. I cannot promise anything in this crazy world. One thing I can tell you is that I will compete in this match with honor, dignity, and fairness. Mr. Black, Miss Lethe, I wish you all good luck. I am going to try my best and give y’all a run for your money. Yippie Kay Yay.
McClain picks his stick up and asks off camera who is next. A big burly man comes up and smacks some money on the side of the table. McClain smiles and racks the balls. The camera pans back around to see the bar hag and the hipster licking each other’s’ faces in a display of sickening PDA. The camera cuts away, thank god.
