Philip Billard Municipal Airport, Topeka, Kansas. We are out on the tarmac as the camera is fixed on a private jet that has just landed. As the door opens and the stairs drop down we see JFK emerge from the jet. He takes a look around letting his eyes adjust to the sun that is peeking through the cloudy day. JFK is in his signature look of a plaid button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his mid forearm, pair of worn jeans and black chucks. He makes his way down the ladder and takes notice of the camera. He makes his way over.
"I guess you are here to get a few words about my match this week huh?"
The camera shakes up and down to say yes. JFK gives a light smile.
"Well first and foremost, I'd like to thank all the fans that came out two weeks ago to make my TV debut on Sacrifice a special one. And to Teddy, I'd like to thank you for an excellent match, maybe we can do it again sometime down the road. I've been in the ring thousands of times, but last week...last week was fun. Last week was one of the most fun matches I've been a part of in a log time, not just due to my debuting here on IWF TV but because I went out there with no agenda. I have no reason to be here but one, to prove that I am one of the best in this business. And I did just that when I pinned Teddy in the middle of that ring. But what really made it special...was you, the fans. The energy you gave off, the cheering and screaming, and just the fact that you all still support me after all these years...that made it special. So once again, thank you."
JFK gives a slight bow.
"But that was two weeks ago and the moment, no matter how fun and great it was, is now behind us, and I now need to take the next step towards my goal. Now, I had my twitter blown up this past week with people asking where I was and why I wasn’t part of the Open Fight Night last week on Sacrifice. Well for one, no one challenged me. Now...could that be because people are afraid of me?"
Shrugs
"Or maybe they just forgot I was here?"
Shrugs again.
"Whatever the reason it worked out for me in the end, I took the week off and threw my daughter the biggest and best Curious George birthday party a little girl could ever wish for. But best believe me, people won’t be overlooking me again in the future. I'm here to stay IWF so don't worry about that. And I am back this week in Topeka Kansas for Sacrifice at the Landon Arena. And this week I'm in a triple threat match."
He lets out a light sigh.
"I'm not a huge fan of these matches. Mainly because I don't even have to be part of the conclusion to get the loss, it could be completely out of my control and well...as a control freak...that's not my cup of tea. But I am also no stranger to these type of matches. I've been in way more than my fair share of triple threats, and because I am such a control freak, I always try to be part of the finish, for better or for worst I want to be evolved in the end, and that end is usually me dropping someone on their head and putting the final nail into the coffin of that match."
He gives that sly grin of his.
"One of the men in this match with me this week, reminds me a lot of myself actually. He has the gift of gab. Can go when it's time in that ring, and has movie star good looks. But that's where the similarities end. See Derek Brooks, I used to be a LOT like you in the fact that I would run around and tell people how much better I was than them...you're damn right...but after a while I learned something. Want to know what I learned Derek?"
He motions for the camera to come closer, then turns it to face the open field next to the airport.
"See that Derek, that vast openness and emptiness of Kansas, where the land goes on flat forever and ever...that's your words Derek, vast...and empty."
The camera pans back to JFK
"You go around calling yourself "GREATNESS" but are you? Are you really? I've learned in my time on this green earth that usually people who boost like that, are nothing near what they claim to be. And let’s be honest Derek, what have you really DONE in this business? In the IWF? I've looked up your old tape, and yes, you are talented as all hell son, I will never deny that. But greatness? Sorry son, but you are not. You could be, one day you could be the greatest of us all, if you ever remove that head of yours from your ass. But until then, well...you're just going to wind up as another footnote that is the history of JFK."
He wink's at the camera.
"Speaking of footnotes...we also have Arin Wilson in the match this week. And to be honest...I have no clue who this kid is. There is no tape on him, no history, nothing...and that actually makes him the most dangerous man in this match as he's the joker card, he's the wild card this week. Just looking at you kid, you don't cause any type of intimidation, none, whatsoever. But...I've been around a long time, I've been around the block more than few times and I know to never...EVER underestimate someone so I won't be taking you lightly kid. But know this. You are making your debut in a match with JFK, a man on a mission to get a Imperial Championship match. And I sure as hell am not going to let some upstart rookie get in my way. So good luck in your debut kid, but at the end of the day, at the end of the match...it's going to suck to be you."
JFK gives that devilish grin of his before walking off camera as we fade out.
