Combat Wrestling…
It’s the newest promotion to pop up on the scene. By all accounts it’s going to take the world by storm, or at the very least, the greater Boston area. I personally think the sky’s the limit or else I wouldn’t have signed here. I wouldn’t have wasted my time.
I chose to be a part of Combat.
I’m sure there are a lot of you out there wondering why a guy with my experience would be willing to start all over. Like I said I have faith that Combat wrestling is going to be the big thing. I know there are people who think I’m here because I have no other options.
This isn’t the truth.
As you might know I had recently returned to the Imperial Wrestling Federation. This is one of the biggest wrestling promotions on the planet. For a lot of people, it’s a dream job.
For me…
Well, let’s just say…
I have different dreams.
At this point in my career, I just want to wrestle. I just want to enjoy myself again. I don’t need the biggest promotion in the world to do that. All I need is a wrestling ring and the fans cheering me on.
That’s all I’ve ever needed…

January 31st, 2018
In just a couple of days Muru is going to make his debut for Combat Wrestling. Make no mistake, this is a big deal. As he gathers up his things in preparation, his girlfriend Emily follows him around like a dog.
Emily: I don’t understand…
Muru: What’s to understand? The shows take place in the Boston area. There isn’t a lot of travel, especially at the beginning. I just think it makes sense for me to stick around there for awhile. I mean it hasn’t been all that fun around here lately since Ryan’s been home.
Emily: I don’t want you to go. Are you trying to get away me?
Muru: Not at all...I told you I wanted you to come.
Emily: You know I can’t! I have school.
She is in the middle of her freshman year of college. Yes she is young enough to be his daughter. No, it’s not that weird. She’s eighteen after all.
Muru: I’m sorry…
Emily: I’m just going to miss you.
Muru: I’m going to miss you too.
He finishes packing his suitcase and zips it up.
Muru: I’m not leaving until tomorrow, so we still have tonight. That’s plenty of time to spend a little quality time.
He smiles at her, and she blushes a bit.
Emily: As fun as that sounds, your cousin banging on the wall and yelling for us to be quiet kind of kills the mood.
Muru: True. Well let’s get some dinner, and maybe a hotel?
Emily: That’s a bit kinky.
The smile of her face lets him know she’s all for it.
Muru: So it’s settled, dinner and then dessert.
He pulls her in close and the two share a kiss.
The first main event, of the first Friday Night Fury…
I know that the name Muru has some value, but I never expected this. It’s truly an honor, and I plan on going out there and giving everything I have. The fans who are paying good money deserve nothing less. If we want to keep them coming back, if we want them to tune in, we as a company need to prove that we’re worth it.
We only get one chance to make a first impression…
I know where I stand.
Ethan King…
Congratulations on taking your game to the next level. I know coming from someone like me that isn’t going to mean much. You’ve had the best of everything your whole life. Even though you're wealthy beyond belief, it only can take you so far. Money doesn’t make you a good wrestler. It doesn’t get you a accolades.
You may not have wanted for anything in your like but I don’t believe that.
You don’t get this far if you don’t want it. You don’t get this far if you haven’t put in the work. Your resume and pedigree are impressive. You’ve done things I never have. In my twenty years I never accomplished some of your amateur feats. What I do know is the professional circuit. I also know how to handle guys like you. Cocky and proud.
How far will your fall be?
Waylon Stokes…
If there was someone who was the complete opposite of me, it’s this guy. Inside the ring you’ll do whatever it takes, excessive violence, cheating, where’s the honor in that? Now I’m not naive enough to think that everyone is on the up and up in this business. I’m seen plenty of guys get off on being the bad guy.
What I can’t stand for…
Mistreating the fans. You don’t have to like them, and they don’t have to like you. This doesn’t give you the right to rip up a sign a young child worked hard on. This doesn’t give you the right to spill drinks of paying customers just to prove how tough you are. Oh you’re tough aren’t you?
I’m pretty tough myself.
Lucas Walker…
Now that’s a big boy! What did you eat growing up? Based on your affinity for hunting, I betting it’s a lot of things I’ve never had the stomach to try. I’ve always been a bit more traditional when it comes to food choices. All joking aside, it’s commendable that you’re wrestling to help your family. It shows what kind of man you are.
Can I be honest?
When it comes to guys of your size, I’ve never had the greatest amount of success. I’ve always been fast and at this point, I might not be fast enough. What I’ve learned is no amount of experience is going to prepare you for getting hit with an arm the size of a tree trunk. I just hope I can be quick enough to avoid the damage you can do.
To be young again…
Four men are going to enter but only one of us can win.
I honestly want to wish you all luck.
If I can pull off being The Greatest Show on Earth...you’re all going to need it!
